ICS ROM with quicksettings menu? - HTC Desire S

Hey All,
My previous ROM was the saga LBC Mod. This one had a lovely quick settings menu in the notifications dropdown.
I could easily change my screen brightness, media sound and other usefull settings.
My new ROM, Fallout V4.4.0 doesn't have this anymore. It's a shame because for the rest it's a beautiful ROM.
Does anyone know a ROM which has a quick settings menu like described above? Or can I implement it in the Fallout ROM somehow?
Thx in advance!
Marcoevich

Fallout has quick settings
Enable it in fall out tweaks and then tap the carrier name

Ah that Fallout ROM is even greater than I thought it was lol! Thx Suku_patel for pointing me to this feature
I have almost all the options I want, but I only can't find out how to change the brightness settings. I'm supposed to slide my finger through the notifications bar. But where do I need to slide exactly?
In the official Fallout thread I've read that you need to get auto-brightness off for it to work properly. I do have auto brightness of, but I still can't figure out where to change the screen brightness.
I hope you can help me out one last time
Thx!
Marcoevich

On the notification bar, the one that is at the bottom one notification is pulled down.
When you touch the status bar, the notification bar shows up as you can continue to slide, or drag notification and slide at the bottom

Hmm. Maybe I don't understand you correctly, but I don't see a possibility to change the brightness somewhere... Am I missing something?

Dun pull it down. Just slide left or right on it to adjust brighter or darker.

Well, that doesn't work on my phone... Why no making a simple slider? This thing comes down no matter if you slide vertical or horizontal. Even if it doesn't come down there's no brightness change..

Left and right, NOT vertical and horizontal(down and up) :good:

Oh my God guys.. Horizontal = HORIZON = LEFT and RIGHT
vertical = up and down
In fallout settings you have the option to enable status bar brightness changer. If it's enabled, you can change brightness by swiping HORIZONTAL
Sadly, there is no real slider for.brightness in quick settings, additionally the brightness changing is way too responsive IMO

Haha. Ops. Ya horizontal is left and right. Lol

Haha lol
I don't know whats going on here. I tripple checked that I have brightness control enables but it just won't work... Could this be a bug?

[MOD] Remove Bottom Notification Text From Stock HTC Lock Screen | v4.22.561.2

JsChiSurf said:
Based on a discussion in this thread, I decided to tackle this little project for removing the notification text from the bottom of the stock HTC Lock Screen.
This way, when you receive a text from girlfriend 1, girlfriend 2 won't accidentally see part of it in while your phone is locked, thus getting yourself in big trouble. This is my "best guess" as to the primary reason for this mod . But, I subscribe to a don't ask, don't tell policy.
By removing the notification text, all types of notifications will be removed, including receipt of text messages, missed calls, etc, so be cognizant of this.

You replace the stock HtcLockScreen.apk with the one in the OP.

Your question has nothing to do with my MOD, please refer to the appropriate forum for Q & A. You don't have that option because you are not running a sense 3.0 ROM

Mistakenly pressing Multitask button twice...

....stalls the phone big time!
I've had the One S and I love this freaking phone. So far it is such a step forward compared to my Sensation 4G that it's not even funny.
I have run into a pretty annoying glitch/bug and I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this: when pressing the multitask button twice in quick succession will cause the phone to lock pretty hard for a couple of seconds. The notification bar disappears, phone locks up completely, then when you hit home/back the notification bar is gone for a couple of seconds. When it comes back it is black.
Now, this would be a minor annoyance if it wasn't for the fact that the buttons are so sensitive that they pick up a press even if my thumb is just hovering slightly above them. Because they are so sensitive, it causes this to happen more often than I'd like to deal with on a daily basis.
Is anyone else experiencing this problem?
As an aside, does this also sometimes cause the clock on the top notifications bar to disappear on the lock screen? I've included the screenshot below to explain:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",

Well I'm running a custom rom so I can't test your multitasking problem..
But it is normal for the clock in the notification bar to disappear when on the lock screen. You have the huge 5:00 clock. So the lockscreen removes the notification bar clock
Sent from my HTC VLE_U using Tapatalk 2
I can confirm this. Just tried and mine stalls as well.
Edit: I don't lose the clock on the notification bar though (on lock screen).
Sent from my HTC VLE_U using XDA
I can't get mine to stahl up at all doing this. Odd....
Sent from my HTC One S
i can confirm this is happening (not always though) on stock, unrooted. would love to adjust the sensitivity of those buttons too.
No problem here. Stock and not rooted.
Edit: Never had the clock disappear off the lock screen either. Something strange going on there.
No lag at all on LeeDroid's ROM. All instantaneous
as far as locking up the phone when hitting the multitask button twice quick, it doesnt happen to me at all.
the clock disappearing on the top notification bar is normal. thats the way ics is. i had the galaxy nexus stock and it did the same thing. i guess there is no point in having the little clock on the notifications bar when u got a big clock on the lock screen its self
My clock doesn't go away on the lock screen, and I don't get any lag when double tapping the multi task button. TMoUS HOS.

Toggles?

Until custom ROMs comes to Nexus 5, I want to change stock toogles.
Is this possible? Any mods?
Why a hell Google didn't include sound toggle for example?
The one toggle I always miss is auto-rotate. I'm in favor of a mod too.

I installed Power Toggles and it seems to be working great. Not a mod, but might work until one becomes available.

I tried this before, but I didn't like it.
I is powerful, but I like swip down from top and big tiles ...
When using Power Toggles widget, I have to be on right screen, with "toggles/tiles" you don't need to.
Widgetsoid has a customizable toggle bar that will attach nicely to the Nexus 5 notification bar. It´s free. Love it.
Kusie
There are custom roms that enable that.

Hi @ All
please try install "power toggles" from the store......:good:

Cataclysm rom is extremely stable, and has the option to customize the quick settings toggles. It's like stock 4.4 with all the basic goodies like battery percent, reboot menu, etc.

ashot80 revived this old thread - and so I read your post. Just in case this issue is still unresolved, Power Toggles does have the option of showing the toggles in the notification bar, so it is available everywhere.
Xposed framework + gravitybox is also good

[Q] Anyway to make the top left of the screen more accessible?

I love my nexus 5 but UIs that require me to touch the top left of the screen are hard to reach. Is there any way to apply a per app hack where the top bar can be stretched or maybe lowered? I appreciate I won't be using all of the screen but it will be worth it for a few specific instances e.g. gmail and hangouts.

I'm not sure I understand what you're saying your problem is. Everything should be adjustable per your preferences by default. Maybe you can elaborate in more detail.
Had this issue with my Samsung note 2... One of the reasons I bought the nexus 5 is it fits my hands and my thumb can reach the entire screen. This doesn't answer your question but it was my solution to this problem.

Your picture actually did a great job of explaining what you meant to say. I understand now.
Silly question/statement, but do you know that pressing the "Back" arrow in most cases such as that should take your back to where you were. Most often, that specific option like you displayed, that you can't reach, can be activated the same way by hitting the back button.
There are however, plenty of apps and situations where you need to hit an option in the top left corner and the back button will NOT do this action. I have big hands and have gotten used to being able to tap something on any section of my screen.
You could try installing a mod/app to enable custom gestures in which you can swipe a gesture towards the right and set it to that function. (ex: gesture enabled when you swipe from the center of the right towards the middle, it activates a "back" option.
You can try installing "GMD Gesture Control" for this.
Just a suggestion?
Thanks for your reply! I didn't realise the back button could cater for some of these scenarios. I also didn't realise I could swipe from the left for a lot of these apps. This caters for most of the scenarios so I'm happy now, thanks!
Grabbing anywhere on the left edge of the screen and sliding right does the same as pressing the icon up high. Same goes go for play store.
good day.

Moving the [Status Bar] to Bottom of the Screen

This is a feature which has regressed since the days of CM7, when it was possible to move the status / notification bar to the bottom of the screen. (See attached image.)
This was ergonomically far superior. Try it yourself with your phone turned off -- the anatomy of the hand and range of motion of the thumb make it much easier to swipe up from the bottom, especially when the phone's held with one hand.
Is there any app or xposed module which allows this change on later ROMs? I've searched fruitlessly.
Thanks.

Very funny, but not helpful!
There used to be xposed modules like Phab7, but they only worked up untill kitkat. After that "tablet mode" has been removed from android code. To make such a module, a whole new statusbar and notification screen needs to be designed and coded. I guess there aren't enough people interested in this concept, or at least nobody thinks it's worth their time making such a module.
I wish I was able to make such a module, but sadly I am not.

Would be really nice to have bottom status bar since a lot of flagship phones are around 5.5" to 6+". Such a waste of time and energy having to swipe down from the top or having to go to the home screen to be able to do the gesture half way down the screen. Even though I set long-press home for the notifications shade, it's just not satisfying.
if anyone did managed to pull this off, please share. thank you
