US Cellular Quadrant... - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S III

The US Cellular store had just got their demo model in and they allowed me to install and run Quadrant. I was very pleased to see a score of 5100. Yes, 5100, not a typo. I was wondering if this was typical of all the US Cellular GS3's? If I remember correctly, this is quite a bit higher than the other reviews I have been seeing on other carriers.

SIII or Skyrocket LTE HD

So when r we going to see the skyrocket HD??? Come on AT&T.. maybe in June and S3 like 6 months later...

if the Skyrocket HD is what I think it is (Galaxy SII LTE HD) then it's a different phone. And yes, if you could, get a S3 from overseas. Or pray that it comes when it's still cool
If you guys ACTUALLY paid attention to the announcement, US is getting the SIII in June.

The way Verizon did the Galaxy Nexus I would think Sammy would be discouraged to start with Verizon. ATT got the Note, Sprint just got the Nexus, maybe it's Tmo's turn for a break-sclusive. with no LTE, I wonder if Tmo's, will have the Exynos SoC?
I guess I don't really care, it looks like I'm with AT&T and the Skyrocket for awhile.

Same here... mine isn't until the end of October .. hopefully by then, one of these phone manufacturers will pull there heads out if each others arses and figure out this bug with quad-cores & LTE, instead of chopping excellent products just to work in the US.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I727 using Tapatalk 2
The only logical upgrade after the skyrocket is a quad core phone with LTE built into the chip set only. I don't care what company does it but that's who I'm buying.
I want more power, more battery and LTE. Only one good way of achieving that so I'm really hoping that when Samsung said 4G integrated on the S3, they were talking about LTE.

S3 .. NO LTE .. the only way to get LTE on the S3 is to do the same as they did with the HTC One X .. swap the quad-core for dual .. again !!!

And again .. like HTC, Samsung jumped the gun in regards to doing the same thing .. wanting to get into the quad-core market .. even with the problems on neither the Exynos or Tegra3 support LTE.
Lets wait to see what Qualcomm has up there sleaves in regards to there first quad-core processor .. maybe Qualcomm can figure out the bug before both Samsung and nVidia does .. hopefully.

You made a huge mistake switching to tmobile!!
There is nothing called "combo" when it comes to using Skyrocket with t mobile (and in my opinion it makes things worse as you might have to troubleshoot both sides radio and rom problems) ... It is just the radio that can be fine or not depending on the area , and in some areas now t mobile switched their data freq to 1900Mhz so even stock UCLF6,UCLI3 or UCLL3 can work , including 4G

not my mistake. husband threw a fit about att and now we are all going to switch to something else. I opted tmo for myself, granted I should've bought a tmo phone and save me some headache. Tried tmobile prepaid before and it sucks endlessly...I can't comment on what your neighbors think since I can know what's their background , at least the technical aspects.

Thanks, but unlocking the phone won't give me fast data speeds because At&t works on a different frequency.
I know there are people currently doing what I mentioned in the first post on their Galaxy Note 1 and 2 when switching from Tmobile to At&t and vice versa...

New to anything but VZW..

Hey all.
Lifelong Verizon user looking at the Nexus 5. Would have to go with Sprint as they are the only other carrier with coverage in my area (and only 3G for the time being).
I've had many Android devices in the past and have unlocked/rooted/flashed them all. I'm only used to CDMA/LTE and seeing carrier specific branding on custom ROMs though. Does it not matter with the N5? I thought there was a difference between Sprint (LTE) and AT&T/T-Mobile (GSM) but perhaps I'm mistaken. Would appreciate any clarification.
Thanks.
Nexus 5 isn't available for Verizon. Nexus has the radio frequencies for sprint T-Mobile and at&t so all you need is the APN and it works

Possibly. But the spec sheet for our model doesn't mention the T-Mobile compatibility we've seen so far. I wouldn't be even slightly surprised if HTC just used software/firmware to disable bands (or maybe not at all) in order to avoid making 5+ different pieces of hardware.

According to the website, yes. But it very likely has the CDMA radio hardware in there in order to save HTC the cost of manufacturing multiple devices. Much like how our locked model can connect to T-Mobile LTE, though you will find no mention of those bands being supported.
