Wondering if Wifi calling is working well in this version? I got recurring errors in 1.8 and had to revert to GB as that's probably the one dealbreaker in a ROM for me (no cell service in basement office). Loved 1.8 otherwise, and looking forward to getting back on ICS.

This is the first ROM I've used where I haven't had any issues with Wifi Calling. I don't need it since my signal is fine in my current apartment (is was a neccessity in my last apartment because the signal was so bad, though), but I always like to test it out anyway when I flash a new ROM. Usually what happens is it will work with a fresh flash, but, after the first reboot, it will start having issues and no longer work. With HFS 1.9, Wifi Calling has worked exactly how it's supposed to work with no issues.
Anyone else have similar or difference experiences?
Wifi calling is a no go for me on 1.9 fresh install. Works on everything else for me but ics roms & miui...

Hi,
I am having something of a calling issue. using Hellfire sandwich 1.9 The call goes through BUT i cannot hear, and they cannot hear me talking. However if I use a blue tooth it seems to work fine. Is that the problem with the baseband? I tried looking for the base band but can't seem to find it. Perhaps a link to it please?

Problems with Android Market not showing all apps
Hi i switched to this HFS V1.9 rom on my G2X. things seem to look pretty good so far. I am however having problems with the market. Apps like Bombshells: Hell's Bells and Cogs dont show up in the market.
I was able to sideload an apk for Bomb Shells Hell's Bells so i figure it should work in the market. I tried clearing the cache and the data for the goople play app, changing the LCD density, and using MarketEnabler but none of these solutions worked. any help would be appreciated

You're not on the new baseband, so you never should have flashed the new baseband zip. I'm not as familiar with HFS as I used to be, but you may need to search for an "old baseband.zip" file and flash that (after wiping and reflashing HFS)

After Hellfire v1.9 wifi not working
ny time i flash an ICS or JB rom on my g2x the wifi stop working but resumes and work fine when i flash GB. My baseband is March 2012. Any help guys?
I flashed for_old_bb.zip (it can be found at http://forum.xda-developers.com/atta...6&d=1339901539) in CWM and it fixed the audio issue in HFS 1.9, but for some reason it still shows the same baseband version in Settings>About Phone. Is that to be expected, or could I have missed a step somewhere?

This file is a fix for audio issues... it is not a flashable baseband.

I went to settings/about phone.......and right under where it says "baseband version", it says those weird letters and numbers, no date. What do you guys suggest at this point? Also, EB team asked to make sure I wasnt under the march 2012 update. I guess thats why they needed the date, but there is none. So at this point where do we go from here? Should i flash a new baseband or something?

Absolutely, that's the proper previous (should work with any ROM but the rooted 2.3.4) baseband.
Edit:
Now that you've figured that you are on the proper baseband for EB, please search around, there's a couple of threads involving either lost APN or simple mobile apn issues.
Good luck!

Ok I searched, can't find anything that will make it work. I even brought it to the store to get a new SIM card, no luck. Just to be clear, this is what I did:
-Booted to Clockwork
-wiped data/reset
-wiped cache
-dalvik wipe
-installed EB GB 2.3.7
-wiped cache again
-dalvik wipe again
-installed GB gapps
-rebooted
Data does not work!
-Did same procedure with EB AOSP 4.0.4
Data does not work!
-Did the same procedure with EB ICS 4.0.3
Data does not work!
Did the same procedure with EB GB 1.0.9
Data works fine!
Did the same procedure with EB GB 2.3.3
Data works fine!
Come on guys, we can't figure this out? I finally find a Rom I'm comfortable with(GB 2.3.7) and the data is all F's up. Wtf?
Update: Just installed AOSP 4.0.4 again and this one won't even let me save an apn. Weird.

No I havent. How shall I find this 2.3.7 link? I can't understand why GB 2.3.7 and ICS have a simple mobile Aphrodite already there when you install it....weird. How do I get to the 2.3.7 link?
I've figured out the data problem in case anyone cares.
1) It seems as though simple mobile apns work just fine on GB 2.3.3 Roms.
2) It seems like on GB 2.3.7 Roms, the simple mobile apns do not work.
3) It seems like on EB ICS 4.0.3 is the same problem as the GB 2.3.7 Roms and EB ICS 4.0.4 you can't even create an apn period, it wont save.
Here is the fix:
When you flash GB 2.3.7 or ICS 4.0.3, there is a T-Mobile apn already there. Within that apn do this:
Replace the name with Simple
Replace the apn with simple
And in "MMSC", after the "http://" and before the ".mms", enter "smpl" without the quotation marks of course and save. That's it! Well worked for me atleast.
I haven't tried it with EB 4.0.4 yet because like I said, there is no default apn there already and you can't create one because after you hit save, it doesn't save. I am working on this issue with EB. Ill let you guys know.
Ok, spoke to EB, they said go into super user app and check "allow", then run rom manager app, click fix pemissions, then when it asks to reboot, turn off instead, boot without sim card, let boot up all the way, then reboot with sim. Seemed to work. Hope this helps someone.

Not that I can see... You don't even use the lg updater tool for this update, they make you download a separate exe file that runs the software update.

Well I did the "update" and flashed cwm and restored my 2.3.3 backup of bionix and calls work for me now (using grooveIP as my phone is disconnected at the moment) and before I'd get the static noise.
So I'm assuming it worked for me, I'm PRETTY sure I still got the popping noise when using grooveIP? I'll restore another backup and see if anything else changed.
Restored an ICS backup and call works through grooveIP still...
Hmm... wonder if they did just change something minor in the baseband to allow it to work?

I think the most likely thing is that they changed something in the ROM itself (like the RIL, or similar code), so flashing another ROM isn't going to benefit.
Okay, so finally after several hours of installing this and that, I finally got back to a stock rooted 2.3.4 v21y. I figured cool, its working now, no call audio issues. Proceeded to install EB (GB 2.3.7) and now I'm getting the clicking and popping sounds. Going back to stock again and seeing if I can run this update, then reinstall EB to see if call audio is fixed.

What baseband are you on?
And guys this update is most likely supposed to be used on phones that have the latest baseband in conjunction to having the stock 2.3.4 rom. I doubt it's meant to make better audio quality if you're still on the old baseband.
I have gotten the program used to flash the update, smartflash. And the bin it used. And the dlls. It doesn't look very helpful though.

Nandroid backup, update your baseband with any of the guides or the one i have, check my signature, and then provide support for the new baseband to that rom if it does not have it. There is also a guide for this on my signature.

If I do this, then I would have to start with a fresh ROM install correct? When you restore the Nandroid, doesn't that restore the BB also?
Backup your current ROM restore a stock based ROM use the LG update tool to update the baseband, reflash CWM then restore your backup of HFP. Restores don't change baseband you need to use your computer to baseband (LG tool for updating/KDZ method)

Hi all, if someone could point a dev or a beta for Hellfire's thread over here since I'm such a noob poster/lurker, I would be very thankful.
Without rehashing the whole post that xda ate (since I timed out at work), basically I upgraded from baseband July 2011 to March 2012 but -
I nulled, wiped (factory/reset,dalvik), installed HFP 2.3, tried both the trinity and faux48 kernels suggested in the thread, flashed Owain's fix, fixed permissions.
The ROM itself works great until I noticed I was on the phone and tried to pair my BT headset. The pairing went OK, but I've gotten a mix of things through the headset when testing it -
-HEAVY static
-silence, but call is still going
-very muted voices but undecipherable
Has anyone had this problem? I flashed a rooted stock ROM and BT calling worked just fine on the new BB (with Owain's fix I think? Can't remember what I did). I drive a lot, so this is almost a deal breaker... otherwise the ROM is pretty solid. I'm hoping that I just missed something and I can make a quick fix somewhere.

I'd Like to begin by apologizing for making a post about something that may already have been addressed but I'm in a bit of a jam and I hope someone can help me as soon as possible. Yesterday my old phone died and I had to get a new one right away for some club/business meetings I have so i picked up a used g2x on craigslist (Stupid Mistake). The phone looked fine and I tested the speaker i didn't actually try to make a call (Stupid Mistake #2). So when I try to make a call the phone makes this weird "Ticking"(Only way i can describe it) sound and I can't make or receive a call the call connects but all i can hear is the weird ticking. It does this on both T Mobile and over Google voice. Video sound and music are fine through both the speaker and head phone jack. The phone was rooted running ICS 4.0.4 EaglesBlood ROM and is on CWM recovery. I'm new to this phone as my old phone was a Samsung vibrant so any help with this would be much appreciated as I assume there's no way to "Odin back to stock" for this phone and I'm hoping this isn't hardware related and that someone can help me out. I'd try to figure this out for myself but im hurrying to try to contact people through google voice so I'm on a bit of a time crunch. Thanks In advance for any assistance. It is much appreciated.
Sounds like a baseband problem. If you're new to the phone, this would be the least complicated method: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.sibbor.getril&hl=en.
