I saw that no one else had ported this so I decided to do it, just for kicks. There should be no problems, but if there are (I don't have an army of phones to test on, just 13) TRY COPYING TO SYSTEM/APP. If that doesn't work, post it and I'll see what I can do .

By the way is this app signed?
Because when i signed it with droid explorer i could install it as normal apk, without moving to system/app.

To those who can't install: since market is a system app you can't just download/run the apk to install it. You want to replace Vending.apk in /system/apps. Either use root explorer or adb.
Has anyone confirmed whether or not these work and if we are able to install large apps/games from the market? If not, does anyone have a copy of the market.apk that I think gtg hacked to allow us to download large apps/games?

Kinda wonderful would be able to install as a user app from gingerbread onwards.
My understanding is you need to be rooted and on ICS and then install to system apps and then fix permissions.

works just fine for me, using latest austrian stock 4.0.3(drei.at)
only that it's slow and uses the german voice to read english sentences, which sounds pretty funny btw

No go for me either, running BlackDragon 4.5 I get immediate FC every time. Tried superficial remedies to no avail (cache wipe, fix permissions, etc). Has anyone else tried Iris? It's worked pretty well for me as an alternative.

Hi. I have just flashed cm9 from the galaxy beam rom on my galaxy s 4g. Whenever I go to the gallery app, my photos don't show up. When I go to the root of my SD card, there is a file called DCIM that contains all my pics and vids. How can I make my photos show up in the gallery? Thank you

Welp, that explains why my mom's phone wasn't seeing her pictures after I borrowed her phone and flashed MIUI for her last night.
Uninstall the update for Rom Manager in your 'manage apps' in settings and/or install Quickpic from Google Play...

I just deleted the .nomedia file from the root directory of my sdcard using rootbrowser and rebooted. Loaded gallery again and all is well.

I'll give this a try on that phone later. No point in going through all those steps mentioned elsewhere if it's not necessary.
Try to wipe gallery's data and cache and fix permissions. In m s plus after the third time it was succesful

you dont have to install them, copy to system and change permissions. If not sure about what permissions then check it for some other system app and then do same for newly copied app as well.

I think thats .odex file that is creating problem.... as ur fon is rooted just go to root explorer and search for .odex file related to ur app and delete it...then try installing app again....also u can try clearing cache and dalvik cache through recovery.....hope this helps....
