[HOWTO][DEV] Swiping Notifications - FC09 - 7/12/12 - Epic 4G Android Development

Greetings Everyone,
I have been getting requests for the mods required to make the swiping notifications work. So I figured I would add the diff files for those who want to implement it on your own. I listed this as FC09, but I'm sure it'll work on EL30 and others...
side note: I threw this together real quick, let me know if I mistyped something.
Swipe an individual notification left or right to clear it from the notifications list.
Thanks go to:
CM7 - for initially setting up the webos type clearing
hansip87 - for posting a HOWTO for his phone
CarpeNoctem - for posting a Touchwiz version of It
Attached Files
framework-diff.patch <- mods needed to the framework.jar file
systemui-diff.patch <- mods needed to the SystemUI.apk file

Thank you! That's very awesome of you.
First, iSaint.

Nice Ca1ne!

Is CWM 3 red ? Sorry about the dumb question. The glossary doesn't mention version numbers with color of cwm. Maybe they're independent of each other, I don't know.

Yup, what Akellar said.
FYI - all of our CWM recoveries have ended up with red text, there have been 3 versions total (2.5, 2.5.x, now 3.0) any of which work with edify scripts. JT and other individuals have had to take the one released by koush and hack in edits to work with our phones, because the official versions are "broken" in that aspect - so only the ones posted here will work.
What does not work is trying to use CWM 3.0 to flash some of our theme/rom .zips (the ones that didn't already have edify scripts in them) that's where the incompatibility comes into play.
The text is black on a dark blue background making it hard to read. I read somewhere on the forums how to invert that. I 'll have to look that up. Just thought I'd let you know if you want to tweak the rom.

The messaging, SMS app, has dark text. The clock on the status bar on top is missing also. When I enable and disable it in TSM parts they shift over a little but the clock remains invisible.
Time go visit that donate button now.

The clock issue is a known issue with the ROM - it defaults to the same color as the status bar so if you don't set it to a different color - or use a different status bar - you won't see it. Setting the clock color requires a reboot after btw.

bdemartino got me straighten around on the clock issue, and my cwm question for that matter. thanx bdemartino & akeller.
On bdemartino's port on the 2.1 version the indicators (wifi & cell strength) on the top notification bar were colored. Is that changeable or is that part of the TSM settings?

If u ported from vibrant ull have to check to see that the names match, I've had to rename them to get them to port correctly. That goes for 3g and service bar icons at least. I think I noticed that earlier when I threw in that data icon

I was able to fix the mms dark text on dark background issue.
I 7zipped the mms.apk out of the H57 Andromedena Tek and 7zip it back into H57 SoC.
Looks pretty cool! I had to go through and test a few once I proved it would work to find one I liked.
Are we having fun or what? I'm close to digging into bdemartino's guide on porting
themes, to figure out this stuff for myself.
______________________
I dived into the porting guide and figured out the basics. I decompiled the latest SoC from tator and bdemartino's 2.1 version. I picked the colored pngs I wanted out of the original and replaced the monochrome ones.
I found a better colored mms.apk from the crysis pack but didn't care much for the mms icon, to dark, and 7zipped a different one back into the res folder of the mms.apk.
Everything is about where I want it accept for the gps navigation icon is always there in the notification bar even if gps is turn off. I'm going to look at the png names again and see if i missed a blank gps png or something. Any ideas would be appreciated.
***I just 7zipped the 3 pngs from the original back into the drawable-hdpi-v4 folder. Not sure why this fixed it they are smaller tho.***
Thanks so much to the original creators, rel500 & Crysis21 and these guys who did the ports thefunkbot, phillup & BakedTator. A special thanks to bdemartino for the porting guide, his work on the orig SoC and all he does, and all the devs who make this possible. I think thats enough a$$ ki$$ing for now.
UPDATE : Look at OP, works with newest Heinz_57 ROM release!!!

[10/28][EC07][Trailblazer101] Themes, Mods, More!

Trailblazer101's Themes, Mods, and More!
I decided to create a new thread for JUST for the EC07 build, because the old one got a little too long/complicated between DL17/EC03...
So all my new mods just for EC07, since EC07 is probably the final build of Froyo, shall be put here
Notice (1): Even though you wouldn't think it, there was a few changes within the framework files that makes old packages (DL17/EC03) incompatible with this new build... So make sure you stay within this thread! Thank you
Notice (2): Make sure that you are on a Deodexed Rom before flashing any of these mods! Or suffer the consequences.....
Alright, so let's get started
List of what we have so far!
1. Accurate Themes (Touchwiz and Gingerbread)
2. Reboot Options w/ Easy Stock Lockscreen Toggle (w/ Bing Removal!)
3. "Stay Awake" Re-added, and Clock On/(AM/PM) Toggle!
4. Bing Removal
5. Clock Unlock
6. [Batch Program] Custom Framework Maker! (and manual Ticker Clock Color Editing)
7. TouchWiz Launcher Mods
8. Camera Mods
9. Modified Browser
10. Hacked MusicPlayer
11. Remapped CarCradle and DeskClock
12. DialerTabActivity Remapped
13. Search Key Remaps
1. Accurate Themes:
Just fixed up the accurate battery mods Get it while their hot
Gingerbread Accurate Theme:
CWM2: http://www.mediafire.com/?afcn9ykqcban74j
Touchwiz Accurate Theme:
CWM2: http://www.mediafire.com/?yilo0p1e0td2o78
2. Reboot Options with Stock Lockscreen Toggle:
(includes Bing Removal!!!) Notice: If you want to remove the AOSP Lockscreen, then create a file in data/local named enable_glass_lock !!! Thank you imnuts for your original work on this
CWM2: http://www.mediafire.com/?xqg5ppdltw98agi
3. "Stay Awake" Re-added, and Clock On/(AM/PM) Toggle:
Having to switch between two packages to pick between No clock and No Am/Pm has become a thing of the past! Check out the link below, which includes that easy toggle, and others as well! These others include that handy "Stay Awake" function re-added into settings, along with a few other Settings modifications Check it out!
Link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1274633
4. Bing Removal:
Most packages that I made already include Bing Removal, including the AOSP Lockscreen toggle package. I highly suggest you check that out, it doesn't hurt
5. Clock Unlock:
Ever since the upgrade to 2.2, the (handy, in my opinion) feature of unlocking the phone through clicking the clock had been removed for some reason I have figured out though how to add it back in! Notice: Because this feature does not harm anyone, it has been incorporated with other packages, such as the Touchwiz Accurate/Gingerbread Theme...
6. Custom Framework Maker:
Having to manually edit your ticker Clock Color is another thing that is of the past! All you need to do is use my handy batch that I have created for you all! Go ahead and check it out now!
Link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1250684
(Everyone seems interested in changing the color of the Clock on the Ticker Display I recently made a guide to do so, which can be found here: [Guide]Change the Ticker Clock Color!... Since this is the main page for all of the mods out there, I shall put the different colors, whether made by me or other wonderful people, here...)
7. TouchWiz Launcher Mods:
I specifically like the TouchWiz launcher for the WeatherBug widget... But what i did was turn it from "eh"-ish into something a little bit more deal-able. Such added features include Landscape, Semi-Transparent App Drawer, and others! Check it out now!
Link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1319699
8. Camera Mods :
Although our phone is completely able to Tag Photos with their Location with GPS, the feature is removed for us for some strange reason... Thankfully, I managed to put it back in, just for you guys Also, there is the added bonus of the removal of "In Call" and "Battery Low" restrictions, so go ahead and check this out!
Link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1305277
9. Modified Browser:
The stock browser comes with all that Verizon crap preloaded into it, and not normally capable of being deleted. I managed to remove all of that, and remap the search functions to Google, among other things! Check it out now with the link below!
Link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1297359
10. Hacked MusicPlayer:
This time i took a peek at what mods CrushD made to the fascinate MusicPlayer so that it would continue playing music when your phone is about to die P), and manage to take those changes and do them to our MusicPlayer Tested it, and it works great! CrushD deserves some props for this one
APK: http://www.mediafire.com/?mjrf5rfx4fcc19e
11. Remapped CarCradle and DeskClock:
If you removed Bing, which you probably should have done by now, you would notice that a lot of the features in both the CarCradle and the DeskClock apps didn't work well anymore... What I did is take our version of those apps, and mod them so that they worked with Google products, like they should've been able to do in the first place
Link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1280667
12. DialerTabActivity Remapped:
By observing Adrynalyne's changes to DialerTabActivity.apk in his beta clean rom for DL17 to remap the voicemail button to Google Voice, I managed to port it over to EC07 He deserves props for creating it originally for us
APK: http://www.mediafire.com/?3r0w7ia028s6a2r
CWM2: http://www.mediafire.com/?w5c57byod6l9hg9
13. Search Key Remaps:
So, I asked some of you if you would like me to remap the search key to something else Well, I did, and finally got around to uploading it The Power Remap shuts the screen off if touched, while holding it down launches the shutdown menu The Camera Remap launches the camera... You can use the search key when inside the app, also; touch it to take a picture, and hold it down to focus, then let go to take it The Call Remap launches the Call Log when pressed, and when held down it launches voice commands[as long as you have the Nuance Commands app installed ] Thanks should go to chopper the dog for doing this originally for the fascinate; that is where i got the idea first from

Are there any mods which only install via CWM 3.x.x? If not, we should standardize everything and just stick with CWM 2.5.x. I see no reason to further confuse people. Anyone else agree?

I was trying to turn everything over to CWM3, but then i heard about a lot of people having omega problems with CWM3 (The Yellow One)....
Everything new that i make package-wise will be for CWM2, until at least we get a more stable CWM3
I just state that it is CWM2, just so everyone can be sure

Hey Blazer,
Thanks for getting a jump on these mods. I'm just curious about these few. They don't include links. Are the EC03 versions compatible or do I just need to be more patient?
Thanks again,
Ray
EC03 mods are in a different thread.
right but what he is saying are the themes and fixes that dont have the links are they not done yet or can the ones for eco3 be used thats what he is saying. infact i have the same questions want to find the battery fix for this i like the one from eco3 that theme is awsome

I hate post like these just do your duty and try and help if you cant dont try.

Once again, great job tommy!
Oh this is nice! I love quick settings and it was the thing I missed the most when I had to switch to stock for a few days. I would be all over this if I was a stock user. Thanks for bringing this to the community!
Works perfectly. I have my quick settings and my 4 in 1 boot and now i'm coo. All that other stuff is cosmetic. i'm all flashed out until custom 4.53 roms come out.

One thing that would make this better is if the recent apps used showed in quick settings also, is that possible?

I can make a separate zip that will have both quicksettings and recent apps, though I am done for the night, so probably in a couple of days, I'll have it out, rest of the weekend/week is going to be busy.
I've used widgetsoid to replace pcw. Here's a guide on how it works.

It's better than nothing. Nice work BTW.
Tapatalk like cookies ... nmmm
Right on, thank you! Don't use sense a whole lot anymore, but this fixes one of the reasons I don't.
But I always use theme stuff. Would it be hard for you to identify what you changed in systemUI so I could pull it out and just drop it in systemUI of theme I use? Or is it more complicated than that?
Also, does this affect the PCSCII that pops up when you plug into USB?
Thanks for this.

Holy sh_t ca1ne! You are a f_ckin' GOD I could kiss you right now
Here are some screenshots from my Swagged Out Stock ROM (attached below).
Only issue I faced was that the SystemUI.apk didn't work on it's own. (The apk was missing a META-INF folder, is that normal?)
Anyways, I re-enabled transparency on your classes.dex (after decompiling of course), pushed the edited classes.dex to my SystemUI.apk and got it working. (Although the transparency step is not needed). I have attached a working, Swagged Out SystemUI.apk (push it with Root Explorer, ES File Explorer, ADB, it's up to you).
From my testing, I thought some of the settings were not working at first. But after some time, they all started working (nice!).
With your permission, I would like to include this MOD into the next release of SOS (adding in the previous Swag as before, of course). All props would be directed to you (duh).
Also, for future reference (when you have the time), could you throw together a quick tutorial of how you did this? Like, which smali or xml's you edited and where. That would be great for future OTAs. Unless EOL means EOU(pdates) for the EVO
Anyway, thanks again man! This is baller as hell!!!!!
I was just about to start on this.
I tell you what. Those desire guys know their stuff.

Hey man, Very nice work! I've been waiting for a while for someone to finally port quick settings into sense 1.0, Its working flawlessly! Try to add the flashlight to it if you can.
Thanks!

Tommy,
You are one of the reasons I started to do this... Thank you for all your work.

One thing that would make this better is if the recent apps used showed in quick settings also, is that possible?

Will be adding a flashable zip to the OP with Quick Settings and Recent Apps together...
Cool can't wait

Hey, This is sick, Very nice work, Recent apps work perfectly also! Thanks again =D
Sorry for the question.... but in the op it states that Auto Brightness and Auto Rotate are available. When I installed I have everything but those two on my quick settings bar. How can I get those added to my quick settings bar? Did I miss something? I am running the Stock Rooted deodexed 4.53 rom posted by NinjaWolf.
Thanks for your help
Noel
absolutely perfect, my phone has all the new options as possible and as close to stock as it can be. Recent apps works great. Thanks for this.

good catch, yup those aren't in the quick settings list yet... I'm working on porting as many options as I can find. though I did also note that I didn't list 4g as an option which is actually in there, updated OP... thanks again for letting me know about my typo.

[MOD] Sprint Lovers 4.24 GB QuickSettings SystemUI.apk 10/3/2011

Here is a modified stock Evo 4G 4.24 GB SystemUI.apk that has the quick settings enabled. This is my first mod post so please forgive me if I missed something.
I am posting this cause I have looked far and wide for this and did not find one specifically for the Evo. I did find several that worked on the Evo but didn't have the 4G toggle.
This apk is straight from the HTC RUU as all the parts were there but disabled. Thanks to SK806 for providing some helpful hints to get me rolling.
Update:
*Fixed FC's on 4G toggle
All toggle are now enabled, and a screen shot added.
Task manager and Recent apps are still off cause I didn't want them.
The order of the toggles in the list have been changed to Brightness, Wi-Fi, 4G, Mobile Network, Bluetooth, GPS, Wi-Fi Hotspot, Auto Rotation, and All Settings.
Plans:
Flashable zip
Add Transparency to the lists
Add an entry for the flashlight (cross your fingers and toes for this one)
I plan to make a flashable zip but for now the apk will have to do.
Just push this to /system/app and makes sure the permissions are set accordingly.
I appreciate this but there is already a flashable zip here in this section http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=17642327

I'd like to say it's the same but, this is not the case it's a port. I modified the origonal RUU files for the Evo plus I have plans to enable other options within it that are not found yet.
Gotcha. Good luck!
All of the options in the quick settings was one of the huge reasons i was using mikg.

Well it does look an awful lot like ca1nes...
However, could you post the .smali/xml edits so the other people out here can help you add the other toggles? TIA.
I sure can, but I have already completed that step and hope to post the final apk shortly. I'll post the smali edits in the op in the same stroke.
Just FYI, ca1nes version is not a port, he just got the code from someone else(mrluje, I think) and took the 4.53 and added the code to activate it, I can confirm this.
The smali changes were simple, one line of code. Good job tho

Sorry I didn't decompile ca1nes to see, just based what I said off his verbaige in his op. Either way now that my revised apk and screenie is up you can clearly see the differences.

Thanks so much for getting this to work. Love it. Two quick requests and I think I can be completely happy with my setup. Can you make the background transparent? Can you make the status bar transparent? Thank you again...

Check my post on the other thread for instructions on the transparent background. I don't remember the status bar. I think it may be in framework. Been a while. I was thinking about figuring that out again. However, I would want to fix all the status bar icons, and that was a pain.

Been looking into these two items already and both from what I can tell so far is that they are both controlled in the systemui.apk classes. I need to fix an issue first thought as it seems the 4G toggle broke when I changed the order. It worked when I first tested the posted build, but I tried using 4G over the weekend and got Fc's. So gotta fix that first, let me know if you guys get the same (if using my build). Gotta get this fix cause its the only things keeping me from using GB as my main driver.

My 4G is working fine from the qs toggle. Will you be willing to include the recent apps along with quick settings (no transparent background) in your new release please Sir? Thank you in advance.
From: My Evo 4G
Very cool, sir. Thanks for explaining the difference between yours and the one I linked earlier.
I hope the brightness slider gets universal soon because I miss it and use extended controls for now since I keep flashing roms lately.

[MOD][UXUMA7] 23-toggle, circle battery, 4 lockscreen shortcuts, ripple, 4-way reboot

I wouldn't normally be doing it, but my phone crashed and forced me to. I wanted to move to stable UXUMA7 base, but Mohan doesn't have Embryo 6.5 out yet [edit - he does now, but it's still not this base]. So I gathered the info (not really hard, just some Google) and made the mods that made UXUMA7 usable for me. Since I did it anyway - I might as well share it.
Mods:
Ripple effect on lockscreen
4 lockscreen shortcuts
4-way reboot
23 toggles
Circle battery
Known issues:
Flashlight toggle is crashing SystemUI
Don't try MultiWindow
Download:
UXUMA7_Jack_R1_lite_mods.zip - dev-host
UXUMA7_Jack_R1_lite_mods.zip - 4shared
Instructions:
Apply over deodexed UXUMA7

There shouldn't be any logging in or signing up. Free download works without it, and the file is small - no waiting times.
In any case, I'll upload to dev-host and share.
[edit] Uploaded, link is available in the OP.
Just a quick question, anyone have this without the circle battery mod included? Sifted through the zip but im not that smart..
SystemUI is the target APK for circular battery mod source, but it's also the target for toggle mods.
If you want - you can just replace the 100 images and the charging images with the standard ones (duplicating the standard images - you have only ~8 of them, you need to duplicate each of them to cover all the relevant values).
can we have just the extended power menu with recovery?
any idea how to change clock color?
i tried this tutorial but no dime:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2039214
any tricks, ideas...
thanks
nvm, i got it...

Download the zip, delete all the files under /system and /preload except of android.policy.jar, and flash. You'll have extended power menu only.
If you mean putting the "recovery" option onto the main screen - I didn't see a tutorial for such option. If you find one - post the link and I'll see if it's easily doable.
Anyway to get without that hideous battery icon?

Was coming here to ask just that. Not a fan of the battery myself either.
I'm running the untouched RUXUMA7 (flashed the original tar with odin).
SystemUI fcs as soon as the phone boots up and keeps fcing any time I run an app which uses it (phone etc). So I never see the notification bar and it didn't help to turn off the flashlight toggle in AdvanceS. Should I run this with deodexed instead?
