Unlock At&t then relock possible? Answer : NO - AT&T, Rogers HTC One X, Telstra One XL

Hi,
I've a simple question.
If I unlock the HOX to use it with a different carrier other than AT&T (using unlocking method available here or cell unlocker code), is it possible to "relock" the phone by doing a hard reset?
Thanks for your help

[Q] How do i remove the simlock?

Hallo,
Is there any way to remove the simlock without buying an unlock code?
Some providers will give you the unlock code if you tell them you are traveling out of the country with your device.
T-Mobile USA does this. It's worth asking.

how to sim unlock sensation 4g t-mobile

hi how to sim unlock to use on any gsm can make it with s-off?
follow the sticky guide fit alpharev s-off in the dev section. Then get super cid using the same guide.
Now you can use any sim card.

I thought super CID was only to flash other regions Roms?
It's very easy to do with Tmobile, though. Just request the unlock code. I requested one and got it in less than 24 hours.

He's right. Super CID doesn't give you SIM unlock. Only gets your access to a ROM from another region.

Wouldn't just flashing a custom ROM already make your phone unlocked?
so can unlock it for free through s-off or any way

No. SIM unlock is a subsidy lock. Super CID unlocks the compatibility of ROM from another region. They're different locks.

If you have T-Mobile, call customer service and request a sim unlock code and tell them you need it to travel abroad.

This works but your account must be in good standing and you have to have been a customer for a while or they just wont give it to you. Other than that, I have done it a bunch of times
Follow this guide http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1233513
Go read post number 3 of the "[Guide] to Installing S-off, Unlocking, ClockWork, Root, SuperCID & S-on" thread. It gives you all the info you need to SIM unlock your device. And please next time use Search, notice the thread title has unlock in it so it is easy to find using the XDA search engine, not to mention it is a sticky thread in the development forum.

If this is for Unlocking the Bootloader then you don't need to do this at all as we can Unlock without it. If it's for another reason then yes as far as I know you can use this tool which has a Telstra edit here.
Gday mate thanks for the reply will unlocking the BL allow me to flash other RUU files also? Or will the cid still block that
Sent from my HTC One XL using xda premium
Don't know why you would want to flash another ruu as after you unlock the bootloader you can flash any rom for the foreseeable future...
After you unlock the bootloader then flash Twrp, then you will be able to flash ROMs.
I think I need to write a guide on this I've answered this a few times recently for telstra users.
Any more questions let me know

Actually, you can't flash a RUU if your device is unlocked.
It will allow you to flash roms.

You can't root but you can unlock your bootloader then flash a recovery then flash a rom that's rooted already.
Sent from my HTC One XL
You just have to unlock to root. AT&T devices have to root first to change the CID.

Check your software, if it's running 2.20 there is no root. if your lucky enough to have 1.85 you can root.
