Is there a way to unlock the bootloader the on att HTC one x with 1.85 software? I tried the one click unlock but when I get to the cmd it leaves it saying it couldn't find files
Did you read up it post in that thread? Mine is unlocked from that same version, but it's not always reliable. Gotta do some finagling.

Yes? The link below worked for me.

:good:
The device MUST have superCID before using the link above....

I have read and found the thread in devs section but that was only for the at&t and rogers models does anyone know if this will work on the telstra version? I done it with my dhd very easily just cant seem to find much on my one xl i would appreciate any support you have thanks for your time.

If this is for Unlocking the Bootloader then you don't need to do this at all as we can Unlock without it. If it's for another reason then yes as far as I know you can use this tool which has a Telstra edit here.
Gday mate thanks for the reply will unlocking the BL allow me to flash other RUU files also? Or will the cid still block that
Sent from my HTC One XL using xda premium
Don't know why you would want to flash another ruu as after you unlock the bootloader you can flash any rom for the foreseeable future...
After you unlock the bootloader then flash Twrp, then you will be able to flash ROMs.
I think I need to write a guide on this I've answered this a few times recently for telstra users.
Any more questions let me know

Actually, you can't flash a RUU if your device is unlocked.
It will allow you to flash roms.

You can't root but you can unlock your bootloader then flash a recovery then flash a rom that's rooted already.
Sent from my HTC One XL
You just have to unlock to root. AT&T devices have to root first to change the CID.

boot into fastboot and run the command
"fastboot getvar cid"
if says CWS__001, and not 11111111, and you haven't previously unlocked your bootloader before. You may not be able to root.
Did you take an OTA or flash a ROM?
I bought with an OTA

OK, what's the cid?
I can't get onto the computer right now so I'll check the cid later, the and by the way, and does downgrading the OS to ICS make it able to root? Because the ones I've seen on the Web are all for ICS....
Oh and ecexcursion I checked both of my root checker apps, and they both said that it isn't rooted

My advice to you would be not to root. Htcdev is down, nothing you can do until it comes back up.
You would need to use xfactor because htcdev will not give you an unlock code otherwise.

You could force the update to 2.20 if you wanted. But 1.85 is easier to root, why are 1.85 root exploits "invalid" they worked for many many users before you?
You need root so you can change your cid because htcdev will not give you an unlock token while it is seem as a AT&T phone.

I don't see the big deal. Update to 2.2 use hasoon's then downgrade hboot using Linux. If you cNt get 1.85 root method to work and you can't figure this out maybe root isn't for you
