Error processing purchase [DF-BPA-13] Play Market - Nexus S Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I keep getting this error when i try to download anything in the play market, paid or free, "Error processing purchase [DF-BPA-13]". I am on slim ics rom 4.2 right now, but i recently just restored it form the jelly bean rom. i have tried restoring data from titanium, i have cleared data on play store and google framework, resynced google accounts, and cleared cache and dilvic in cwm.....nothing worked any ideas? thanks

Force stop play store....clear data and cache.....and then sign out of google account and sign back in....always works for me when i got that error...

Check ur DPI for ur device mentioned by slim developer.
Or try removing ur account and then resign in....
Good luck
Vs Nexus S 4G

Go to accounts and sync
Unsync gmail then resync gmail
Restart phone
Bang!!! Should now work, I had the same issue for days, clearing playstore data and google services framework didn't fix it. After a little searching I found the above method (can't remember from where), I wasn't sure that it would work, but was very happy it does.
Try it, good luck.

[Q] Android Market "Starting Download" issue

(Not sure if this is the correct sub-forum to ask, but here goes)
Has there been a fix for the old "Starting Download" issue on the Android Market? I still can't download anything from it. I know that resetting my phone will work (for a while), but it's not an option right now. Any help?
P.S. I've searched the forum as well and was not able to find a concrete answer.
I was told that starting Google Talk should make sure you're logged in to Google's server, which is (supposedly) what causes that problem.

Hmm, I tried that but I'm already logged in
That issue has haunted me for a while - I get a cold sweat anytime a download start takes longer than usual.
I personally don't believe it's an issue with your device (as I've seen some argue it to be), rather it's with your gmail account. When a factory reset didn't fix my problem, I went to a tmobile store where my buddy works, and we put my sim card into every android device he had (mt3g, mts, garmin, and one other I can't remember), only to find that none would allow me to download.
For me the workaround I'm currently using is to set up the device with another gmail account newly created for the purpose of being able to download apps, then set up my "real" gmail (the one I actually use) to sync my contacts and calendar. The only problem is that I can't use my real gmail on gchat, since that only signs into the primary account you used when setting up the device. I don't use gchat much on my phone anyway, so it wasn't that big of a deal.
I suppose it's possible my phone corrupted my account somehow, but I had deleted caches, updates, and anything else I'd heard had worked for others, but to no avail. If you get to the bottom of the problem, be sure to let me know.
Good luck!

Hi! Thanks for the tip but as it turns out - I can't even add another account It always produce an error saying "can't establish connection". Any idea why this is the case?
The "Starting Download" issue for me, was unfixable and related to my google account. I created a new one and it worked flawlessly.

Hmm...that sounds like a connectivity issue and not a problem with the device. I'd say reboot your phone and try again.
Just to be clear, I created a new gmail address and used that during the initial setup of the phone (after a factory reset of course), then went to settings> accounts and sync> select add account and entered the old gmail I've used forever (which is why just ditching it and using the new one wasn't an option - I didn't want to bother notifying everyone I had a new email).
You'll see that you only have the option to sync contacts and gmail with a secondary gmail address - not calendar. To get around this (since my old gmail is the calendar I want to sync), set up the new gmail to share calendars w/ the old one. Once that's done, you'll see in your calendar app settings on the phone the option to sync the old gmail calendar and not the new one.
Hope that made sense! It's really not difficult to do - just annoying that it has to be done at all. I wish someone would figure out why some gmail accounts get stuck at starting download. What a pain.
I had this problem for awhile, but it was because I was task killing Google Talk. When I disabled the task killer it worked fine.
I read a few comments on the help community in the market to go to applications, manage apps, select the market then uninstall updates. This worked for a while but very intermittent. Worth a go though

I generally just wait, I believe it's a server issue...I eventually get the download but, yeah, I wait and then go back to the store and attempt to start the download again...and that seems to work.

Yes downloading from the market is related to the Google Talk app. I once deleted it from /system and it did the same thing.

Thanks for all of the replies. I know of the delete Market update solution but when I browse for Market in the Manage Application screen, I never see the "update" portion there. Any other tips?

[Q] How to delete/disable my Google app account from HTC Desire S

Hi, Well this appears to be a regular problem with almost all un-rooted Android users. Still, in case anybody could help me out with removing one of my Google App account from HTC Desire S, without actually resetting it. I think there is some way.
I added my third google account, synced it once with Gmail app, later, unchecked the Auto sync button and clicked on Remove account. I was successfully able to remove it. If that can be removed, the first one can also be. Its just that I need to clear some apps cache for this. If any one from XDA (big brainy people) can help us out on this.
Try clearing gmail, talk, and Google account manager
Swyped from a primed Desire S
AFAIK, the account that was used first in initializing the device, can be removed by factory reset only. This is what the phone writes when you're trying, right?

Ya, thats what the phone says. But I registered two google account on it. One professional one personal. it does not allow me to delete any of those. However, when I registered a third account, I could remove that one easily.

Hi,
I am trying the steps as told by you. Lets see if this works.
Gmail: Cleared
Talk: Cleared
Google Play: Cleared
Google Service Framework: Cleared
Cannot find anything like Google Account Manager in the app list.
Kindly help. There is no particular way on this whole internet. lol
I although tried it once in different ways but there was no way to delet the first account. In the end I did a factory reset.
Sorry, but I think it´s the only and fastes way to get the phone clean.
first email account
It does not matter which email account you use Gmail, Yahoo, GMX etc. You can only delete it by doing a factory reset. The first email you enter becomes embedded on the phone.
Thank you guys for your replies. Can you also suggest something I need to take care of before doing a factory reset.

Backup your contacts(if not synced with Google) and SMS using 'super backup'
You are not rooted so can't think of anything else that you could do.

Try going into recovery and fixing permissions.
i had this yesterday,
go to settings, apps and clear the data the play store, then go to accounts and remove your google account, your phone will moan saying there is back up account something like that in the notification bar ignore it. go to google play store and click existing and re log in to your google account. should be fine from then on squire!
I often have that issue when I'm on wifi, and not just with this device. I've never had the issue over a mobile data connection.

might not be the actual google account....are getting your gmail to your phone? If so, then it is log on...
prob the play store....have you tried clear cache and data for the play store, thru the settings/applications/all applications....look for google play store app...clear the above and reboot then try again...
Okay I'll give that a try, and it is all apps that require my gmail acct, like if I go to settings> accounts and sync, my account doesn't show up
That seems to have worked, thanks man

Contacts won't sync

Hello all,
Looking for some help with my contacts app not syncing and only allowing me to save contacts to my device. When I try to sign into my Google account in the app it just tells me I am already signed in even tho it won't show my profile or any contacts. I have tried clearing the app storage for contacts and reinstalling my Google account but that did not work. I also factory reset the phone and for a while the contacts app worked but then it broke again. I am not exactly sure when it broke but my phone is magisk rooted and I suspect maybe it was after I installed the UNSF module and cleared storage from Google play and Google services and rebooted? Have been searching around for a fix but haven't been able to come up with one yet so appreciate any suggestions.
