[Q] How do I tell if it's SIM Unlocked? - HTC Inspire 4G

It's been rooted and S-Off, and I currently have ICS installed (IceColdSandwich 8.2).
But does that mean that it's SIM unlocked, in that this phone can be used on any carrier?
I don't have a non-AT&T SIM card to test it on hand.

Like Nick says...if you used the Hack Kit and u are S-OFF then you are sim unlocked. But if you want to verify, u can use this (Point 5):
http://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki/HTC_Vision#Rooting_the_Vision_.28G2.2FDZ.29_and_DHD
Take into consieration that sim unlock does not work with all sims....mine works perfectly in Argentina with my company but not all companies work.

I don't quite remember if I used the hack kit... any recourse if I run the hack kit right now, despite my phone already being S-OFF and Rooted, just to make sure that it's SIM unlocked?
^ Assuming running gfree_verify_v01.zip using ADB Shell shows that simlock has failed.

That is weird, from what I knew (that is not a warranty..:cyclops if you are S-OFF you have to be sim unlock....If you want to re run the S-OFF and root, you can revert back to stock and S-ON and then run the Hack Kit...:good:

Don't re run the hack kit if you're already rooted, bad things will happen. Set it back to stock and then reroot

Unlocking/Sim Tool kit?

When rooting the phone it does unlock your phone? I have been looking across some sites saying that it does or it does not. Also the ace hack kit does unlock your phone.
I thought it does because when you flash a Rom it cause what carriers.
Other ? Is I also notice the sim tool kit but when I click on it it says its not ready or supported. Just wondering why its not.working I did come.across http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/SIM_Application_Toolkit
Overall I don't.need to unlock my phone cause its already unlocked. And the sim tool kit its nothing major.

No rooting your phone does not unlock it. But the ace hack kit does unlock it. Most sim tool kits do not work as they were not made for updated phones

Ok when I rooted my phone I rooted by a tut video and it was the buddys root method lol I never used the ace hack kit before. Im downloading the AHK to see, I can still use that even though I used a different method? The AHK it self does the unlocking method from what I can see...
If I just wanted to unlock it i could just get the unlock code and go from their but I know you have to get a non accepted sim card.
If you are already rooted it's not recommended to use the ace hack kit. You'll have to unroot first.

If you are rooted, then you are probably Sim unlock. As Pazz told you, don't use the Hack Kit, you will get jammed. First, check is you are already sim lock by using the method in point 5 of this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki/index.php?title=HTC_Vision#Rooting_the_Vision_.28G2.2FDZ.29_and_DHD
If that is not working, then you can revert to stock using the Hack Kit and re rooting...that will give you sim unlock....
O wasnt going to use the hack kit just saying. I also came across in the dev part for the stock ruu and shows how to go back to out of the box phone status. But there is couple of ways to revert back to stock phone lol so many choices
Cause I was thinking about selling my HTC inspire and was also looking to see how unroot the phone to go back to stock

[Q] Unlocked bootloader, 4G/LTE no longer works

Hi,
I tried to use the one-click bootloader unlock at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1734558 several times, but it did not work with my phone (Telstra HTC One XL) due to an invalid token, so I ended up going through HTCDev.
Problem is, although the bootloader is now unlocked, I now have the same problem as this person: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=28045161&postcount=42.
Is there any way to fix this or am I screwed? The phone works fine, except I no longer have 4G/LTE. I have already tried to restore my original partitions that I backed up, but it doesn't re-enable 4G.
Sounds like a bug HTC needs to know about.
Why not try rooting then unlocking directly at HTCDev.com without using this script?

Reflashed RUU, same problem. I've convinced the telco to send it in to HTC for a repair... doubt they'll do anything as the bootloader clearly says "Relocked" and I logged into HTCDev.

you check your imei # in the software and make sure it matches what it should be (it's physically etched into your sim tray)?
I have an unlocked bootloader and 4g/lte is working fine with cleanrom 4.1 and the 1.88 radio here in nyc area. Got 45/11 in flushing queens on lte.

[Q] Updation of Unlocked AT&T HOX...is it possible to update. If so, How??

I have a unlocked At&T HOX ...i think it is network unlocked...I did it by entering a code and the phone is working fine here in India with other networks..
My Android version is 4.0.3 and software is 1.85
I came to know that there is a update for HOX with 4.0.4 and i think 2.22...
My question is..as i unlocked it...If I update my mobile to this new version..does it get blocked\bricked....what are the safety measures to be taken..please explain...
I am scared to do as I don't have good enough knowledge...
Also, if the update is succesful am i supposed to unlock it again...if so, will the existing unlock code work??
Please someone guide me...
many thanks in advance...
You should unlock your bootloader first. It sounds like you are just sim unlocked. You also won't get an OTA if you are using a different carrier so you would need to run the RUU. I have never sim unlocked a phone before, but I would guess you might have to reenter your sim unlock code again.
I mainly took the 2.20 RUU for running on AT&T network, which I think was an improvement over 1.85. Since you are not on AT&T I would recommend unlocking your bootloader, and flashing a radio that's best suited for your carrier. If you take the 2.20 RUU you won't be able to flash radios anymore.

Are you currently rooted? I would unlock your bootloader and do SuperCID before doing any updates. That way you can always root your phone.

I wouldn't recommend 2.20. Once you run the 2.20 you have to flash the boot.img for any ROM manually (so you can't use restore a backup on the go without a computer) and you can't flash radios at all. Being that he is using this phone internationally, being able to flash radios may be pretty important.

what i said.
not being able to flash boot.img in recovery is the most annoying aspect of flashing the 2.20 ruu when you are already bootloader unlocked.

No I didn't root it...I got the phone and unlock code (Seller sent both to me)...once i got it just inserted other carrier sim and unlocked the phone...apart from this I didn't do anything...it is as it is...As another friend mentioned, I think I did SIM\Network Unlock...

I don't really know what to tell you. You should do some more research first. We told you already what you "should" do.
root, unlock bootloader, flash recovery, flash custom rom, if you have trouble with network try different radios. do not take an ota or ruu, i am sure you will regret it.

[Q] SIM Unlock - Restore to factory

Hi Guys,
I have an HTC doubleshot running CM 9.1.0 stable.
I grabbed a SIM unlock code from tmobile and popped in a SIM from AT&T, got the unlock prompt just fine.
I enter the code and even though the device accepts it, it doesn't actually unlock the phone.
Restarting the phone or turning airplane mode on/off produces the same prompt to unlock again.
After much investigation I realized that I may need to go back to the stock ROM to be able to successfully unlock this phone. (or maybe I'm wrong here but i've read numerous reports of the SIM unlock not working with CM)
I'm on hboot 1.45.0013 with S-ON and I can't seem to get back to stock no matter what PG59IMG i download.
I've tried every signed image i can, including all of the ones here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1878329
So my question is either:
1) How do i get back to a stock image (even if still rooted and on cwm recovery) so that i can unlock
or
2) How can i unlock the phone without flashing a different image
Silly me, i had forgotten to re-lock the device via fastboot before applying stock image.
SOLVED
In case this helps anyone else out there:
Confirmed that SIM unlock does not work in Cyanogen Mod.
Reloaded factory image, unlocked SIM using code received from tmobile.
Re-rooted, took the opportunity to gain s-off via juopunutbear which also needs the factory image.
Reloaded nandroid backup and now i'm back in business running cm9.1.0 with unlock and S-off as a bonus

Different software after bricking

I sent my one x to htc after HARD BRICKING it..(installed CWM update through rom manager) and they fixed it,but now it has alot of different features and looks different, also i cant change the CID or unlock boatloader .... is there something different in this software
the boot up image is also different
and it has that feature where you can touch your phone to anther and tranfer files from one phone to the next.
you can not choose between charge only or mass storage anymore either
Of course. They updated to a non root able version, 3.18. At this time there is NO WAY to root. Sorry bro

You said you can't change the CID, Did they change the CID back? Is it CWS__001?
Also, it is possible to run 3.18 rooted if your bootloader is already unlocked but you cannot unlock the bootloader with CID CWS__001 and 3.18 as 3.18 blocks system write which you need to change the CID to unlock the bootloader.
bucknaked, make sure if it is the same phone. if so you could use your old unlock token. not sure about the lack of supercid though to gain s-off.
