Hi,
I tried to use the one-click bootloader unlock at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1734558 several times, but it did not work with my phone (Telstra HTC One XL) due to an invalid token, so I ended up going through HTCDev.
Problem is, although the bootloader is now unlocked, I now have the same problem as this person: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=28045161&postcount=42.
Is there any way to fix this or am I screwed? The phone works fine, except I no longer have 4G/LTE. I have already tried to restore my original partitions that I backed up, but it doesn't re-enable 4G.
Sounds like a bug HTC needs to know about.
Why not try rooting then unlocking directly at HTCDev.com without using this script?

Reflashed RUU, same problem. I've convinced the telco to send it in to HTC for a repair... doubt they'll do anything as the bootloader clearly says "Relocked" and I logged into HTCDev.

you check your imei # in the software and make sure it matches what it should be (it's physically etched into your sim tray)?
I have an unlocked bootloader and 4g/lte is working fine with cleanrom 4.1 and the 1.88 radio here in nyc area. Got 45/11 in flushing queens on lte.

Yea, but if you do root you'll carrier unlock your phone and be rooted plus saves you about 20 bucks or so from buying a unlock code

You can call AT&T and they will give you the unlock code for free. I did it yesterday for my phone.

i really wish you would take 5 minutes to let all this sink in.....
you seem hellbent on NOT listening to the advice of others, but i will waste my breath anyway:
YOU WERE UNLOCKED
if you root, YOU WILL BE UNLOCKED
custom rom, stock rom, it doesnt matter
have you bothered trying to get TMobile to replace your freakin sim as suggested?
have you done ANYTHING that anyone has suggested to you aside from flashing a custom rom?
no
you fail to listen
you seem to think an unlock code is going to help you...its not
run the hack kit, get s-off and flash a rom of your choice. walk into a freaking TMobile store, and ask for a new freaking SIM card
have THEM help you understand why its not dialing out....you got it to call out a few times...THAT MEANS YOU WERE UNLOCKED!!
if it was locked, you would get NO signal, NO data, NOTHING AT ALL....you wouldnt even be able to make a phone call once!!
why dont you understand that?? why cant you grasp that??
as i asked you before, you are aware that you will NOT get 3G/4G data right??
can someone here tell me why i'm not able to call out even though i'm unlocked? someone else had this problem also.. he has the same situation like me.

well, since your threads are so spread out....its impossible to keep up with what you have actually done for troubleshooting. if i remember right, you never flashed a new radio...
A new radio wouldn't matter. I got a question trappz do you have signal. If you have signal go into T-Mobile and request the new simcard. But you will still not get 3g/4g data due to the different base and frequencies they run off.

hi, hiyabuz.. i dont have signal... but when i get signal, its there for like 4 secs then it disappears.. and i already tried using another friend's sim card. hes got tmobile.. and that didnt work either.
Ok that right there is telling us that your network is being blocked or your just in a very low coverage area for edge which is their bottom teir data/signal. This phone is not compatable with all of T-Mobiles network so your service can be shotty. It's worth a shot of getting a new sim or doing a new radio flash which could boost your service. If that doesn't work we can always try and troubleshoot more to see if the phone is just bad.

well i installed a "factory" rom (note the quotes) to replace the custom rom on it so i can s-on and unroot. the link to that "factory" rom is:
RUU_Ace_Gingerbread_S_Cingular_US_2.47.502.7_Radio _12.56.60.25_26.10.04.03_M
but when i go into hboot, i still find my phone is s-off and rooted.
i dont understand why the above rom is "factory" when its really not. then someone suggested i run a 'gene poole tool' to reset to factory an d get s-on and unroot.. but i think i ran that before cuz i got that tool on my desktop. this is getting to be one of the worst experiences i ever had on any phone.
i'll let you know what happens.
The rom didn't give you s-on because when you use gfree to get s-off (which the hack kit does) you have to use gfree to get s-on. You should use this to get s-on:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1208507

I managed to unlock the bootloader for my AT&T One X. These are the steps that I took.I think that the problem I had was that my root wasn't done completely. SuperSU was installed, but whenever I tried to use an app that required root, it would ask if I was rooted.
1. I factory reset my phone through the bootloader. (For me, this removed root).
2. I uninstalled the HTC drivers on my PC, then reinstalled.
3. Re-root, using this root.
3a. USB debugging enabled3b. Disable fastboot.3c. Make sure HTC sync isn't running.3d. If using desktop, plug USB into the back of the computer.4. Check and make sure root is working properly. You can go into SuperSU and it should update SU binaries.
5. Use this tool to unlock the bootloader.
That is what worked for me. I took every precaution I could think of and it worked. Good luck!

That's because htcdev blocks AT&T phones. You need to get SuperCID first. You can't have looked very hard, because there is a 3.18 root method in the General section of our phone's forum. Also, you probably need to do some reading, because you should have known these facts before attempting to alter your phone.

You can't find any 1-click roots for 3.18, because there are none.
The "special steps" you should follow, are to first start looking at my Index thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1671237
Find the root method for 3.18. Then you will need to SuperCID. Then, and only then, will you be able to unlock the bootlaoder. Read read read.
Has anybody had this issue with the HTC One M4
To anybody that knows about these forums,
I have been trying to unlock the bootloader for the new HTC One from Verizon, I went to the HTcdev website, and I follow all the instructions step by step, I paste the code into the box, then it tells me some code error 160 mid not allowed, so now I have no clue what that means, I check out the websites and they all have similar instructions on unlocking the bootloader, but they all worked and none of them got the error 160 mid not allowed, I check out the error forums, and they are just as frustrating because they get detailed into what the reason in the code is, but considering that the need for the code to be all 1111 doesn't help when the phone won't even unlock through the htcdev site.
Has anyone else come up against this particular error and if so how was it resolved? Any help is greatly appreciated:fingers-crossed:
You're I'm the wrong forum buddy, this is the HTC One XL forum.

I have a unlocked At&T HOX ...i think it is network unlocked...I did it by entering a code and the phone is working fine here in India with other networks..
My Android version is 4.0.3 and software is 1.85
I came to know that there is a update for HOX with 4.0.4 and i think 2.22...
My question is..as i unlocked it...If I update my mobile to this new version..does it get blocked\bricked....what are the safety measures to be taken..please explain...
I am scared to do as I don't have good enough knowledge...
Also, if the update is succesful am i supposed to unlock it again...if so, will the existing unlock code work??
Please someone guide me...
many thanks in advance...
You should unlock your bootloader first. It sounds like you are just sim unlocked. You also won't get an OTA if you are using a different carrier so you would need to run the RUU. I have never sim unlocked a phone before, but I would guess you might have to reenter your sim unlock code again.
I mainly took the 2.20 RUU for running on AT&T network, which I think was an improvement over 1.85. Since you are not on AT&T I would recommend unlocking your bootloader, and flashing a radio that's best suited for your carrier. If you take the 2.20 RUU you won't be able to flash radios anymore.

I wouldn't recommend 2.20. Once you run the 2.20 you have to flash the boot.img for any ROM manually (so you can't use restore a backup on the go without a computer) and you can't flash radios at all. Being that he is using this phone internationally, being able to flash radios may be pretty important.

root, unlock bootloader, flash recovery, flash custom rom, if you have trouble with network try different radios. do not take an ota or ruu, i am sure you will regret it.

Hi Guys,
I have an HTC doubleshot running CM 9.1.0 stable.
I grabbed a SIM unlock code from tmobile and popped in a SIM from AT&T, got the unlock prompt just fine.
I enter the code and even though the device accepts it, it doesn't actually unlock the phone.
Restarting the phone or turning airplane mode on/off produces the same prompt to unlock again.
After much investigation I realized that I may need to go back to the stock ROM to be able to successfully unlock this phone. (or maybe I'm wrong here but i've read numerous reports of the SIM unlock not working with CM)
I'm on hboot 1.45.0013 with S-ON and I can't seem to get back to stock no matter what PG59IMG i download.
I've tried every signed image i can, including all of the ones here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1878329
So my question is either:
1) How do i get back to a stock image (even if still rooted and on cwm recovery) so that i can unlock
or
2) How can i unlock the phone without flashing a different image
Silly me, i had forgotten to re-lock the device via fastboot before applying stock image.
SOLVED
In case this helps anyone else out there:
Confirmed that SIM unlock does not work in Cyanogen Mod.
Reloaded factory image, unlocked SIM using code received from tmobile.
Re-rooted, took the opportunity to gain s-off via juopunutbear which also needs the factory image.
Reloaded nandroid backup and now i'm back in business running cm9.1.0 with unlock and S-off as a bonus

Before anyone sets the hounds on me, I ask this question with a massive grain of salt. I had to send my original HOXL back to ATT (warranty) and my new one is on JB. I'm assuming that they reset the CID and relocked the BL when they installed JB on this unit and then packaged it to be sent out as a refurb.
Since it is tampered and locked, would the only way to unlock this be to go on a wild goose hunt and find the person that owned this device last and get the unlock code bin file from them?
I would try to go onto HTCdev and type in my token identifier but I have the feeling that ATT would have reset the CID when they reflashed their official JB.
Thoughts? Should I give up hope? lol

If you can somehow get the unlock code bin then you should be OK. However, I doubt you will get that. It is weird that they sent you a phone that was void by warranty though.

well if he had that unlock_code.bin, could he possibly still unlock the bootloader? it was tampered with, so SOMETHING happened
Ya he originally was rooted and unlocked so the tampered will stay there even if you ruu unless you change it with being s off. I'm thinking that if they would of pushed newest update to your phn it would have bricked it. Just check your version and as long as its not the lastest go about unlocking /rooting as you would normally. If its the newest version its write protected so it just won't work, it wouldn't brick phone
