How about using root explorer or some such and upload here as attachment. Not on market anymore
OK Here it is
Since I used this app just a day ago and did a nandroid, I restored, found it and here you go. Attached is the apk. Goes in /data/app. I use root explorer typically. I have not tested if this will install using typical file manager click on the file. For those that install the manual method of adb or root explorer, typically reboot after the install to have it work. Also is screen shot for correct permissions. Enjoy.....
sweet thanks

Just a reply back to all...thanks. Going to try to findo out why it was pulled from the market. It's a great app that does work well. I use powerAmp, which has an overkill equalizer, but listening with this minor plug in and it is really a nice addition, IMHO.
Simply Install to your Galaxy Tab running on Gingerbread rooted.
If you want to replace your stock music player with this music player v3 just
install it first to your device and copy the MusicPlayer.apk to /system/app folder
delete or rename the existing file before you paste the new file.
Don't forget to change the permission.
Enjoy

You can download equalizer app or widget. I suggest you download from the Market the free app, EQUALIZER WIDGET. Just search it from the Android Market and you'll never regret it. Your tab will give all the bass and treble you need

i wanna go back 2 normal music player
For those outside the USA who want to try the google music streaming beta, just configure your browser using a USA proxy such as one of those found here, then go to the google invite page here and request an invite. I registered earlier today and got my invite within a few hours. All working fine here in the UK .
invite is not a problem
Sure, getting the invite was not a problem..
Installing the application through music.google.com is. When i click the link that sends me to market.android.com, and click the install-button it says that the application cannot be installed in my country.
Settings?
EDIT:
So turns out I'm dumb. After I got my Google Music invite, I can get to settings and all that. Thanks for posting the app!
----------
Hey all, so maybe I'm just having an off day, but I don't see anywhere to adjust the settings for this app. It installed perfectly and I renamed and overwrote the MusicPlayer.apk in my system folder.
Is there a settings menu in this app? Am I just taking crazy pills?

i know it's been a month since your post, but maybe this will help others in the future.
If you installed this simply by running the apk then it should have installed alongside your stock player. In this case all you have to do is search for the original Music Player under Applications to use it, and delete the new player with something like Titanium Backup.
If you installed this by overwriting the stock player, then install the MusicPlayer apk that i have provided below. But again, this will install alongside which ever player you have installed.
Hope this helps
EDIT: The music player provided is the stock player that originally comes with SGT roms
Thanks for the post.

If you quickly install another 3rd party music app, does that find them? I'd personally recommend PowerAmp. There is a free trial version. That one you can point it at specific folders on your SD card for your music.
If even other music players can't find them, you may have a faulty SD card. Try connection your phone to your PC in mass storage mode. Can you browse the card?
Yup I can view and play music using other apps , and can play music also, I can browse too when in pc mode...I think its just the music app, I like this app, is there any way I could re install the sense music app?

Go Menu, Settings, Applications, Manage Applications, hit the 'All' tab, scroll down to your music player and select it.
Hit the Force Stop, then clear cache, then clear data.
Go back to your music player. Has this re found your music now?

i did what you said , but to no avail, i still couldnt find the music files,...i tried soft reset too, didnt work either, when i hooked it up the computer , and viewed my music folder,i saw a small file, that said nomedia...it seemed rather odd, s i deleted it and that worked! i think that file was teleng the app that the folder has no media content, im just curious what made that file and how it got there in the first place?
oh by the way thank you so much for the help!!!! i want to root my phone to someday, but im still not ready for that yet, got to learn more bout android and rooting and modding,...before i do something like that. thanks again and GodBless!!!
Yes, that .nomedia file is the reason.

I feel you. I waited for 5 months to root mine. But, my suggestion : DO IT NOW!
Hahaha, I'm still not there yet, but slowly getting there ! Thanks for the suggestion , I like the original music app , very simple yet it gets the job done, there's a lot of buzz going on with the new OTA update , still no word here from Asia, but I'm not that excited , been reading stuff bout that also, it leaves you with just 150 mb space for apps, I personally think its a shame...

Can someone please tell me how to get CIFS.ko or whatever it takes for CIFS support on any of the ROMs? Or if any of these already have it, which ones?
Do I just have to update to the correct Kernel?
Thanks!
what is CIFS.ko?
CIFS.ko is a kernel module that enables Windows Network access.
If you use CIFS Manager or Mount Manager then you can have network folders or drives mounted as local folders on the phone and all the apps can access them directly - video, music, file expl etc. I have it on my Note and it works great. I used to have a ROM on the Infuse that had it so I know its doable.
If you search around on XDA there is a bunch of info on it.
Already reported.. no one else needs to tell him that he should have posted in Q&A...
And I have never seen the rom that can do that... HOWEVER.. I do know that there is atleast one app that can do that.. I tried pushing a file to my phone once... but it didn't work for some odd reason. I don't know why.. but that was a while ago. They have probably fixed the issue since then.. either way..
And dropbox is nice for some of the light duty stuff.

This is not about pushing or dropping - its about Playing.
I have lots of huge video files on my network - I want to be able to play them in any player without thinking about anything except selecting the folder, the file and playing the file in ANY player. This is a standard ko module that should be included in all ROMs but for some unknown reason it is not.
And you totally posted in the wrong section... Q&A bro...

Airdroid is OK, but it is not even close to the same thing.
What CIFS does is allow PC shared folders and/or drives SHOW UP as drives on your device so that ANY app that navigates the folder structure can see all the files on those drives and access them the same as if they were local.
So any Music app can play mp3 from any shared drive - ditto for videos, docs etc.
Hi all,
Just a quick question. For some reason I can't get any music players other than the built in one with ES File Explorer to find the music (.mp3s) that I've transferred over from my pc. I tried downloading some using a browser and those ones are picked up by the players just fine.
What I've tried so far:
Copying files to different folders.
Tried stock Htc player, Google music player and Shuttle player.
Wiped Caches.
Reboot phone.
Media Scanner app from play store.
I checked and there is no .nomedia file anywhere.
The only thing that I haven't tried is reflashing the Rom, but that will be a last resort.
As I already mentioned I can play them using the ES File Explorer also the File explorer that comes with ViperXL.
Currently running ViperXL 3.2.8 with stock kernel. I've had the phone for about 6 months and about 2 months being rooted and running Viper. This is the first time that I've ever tried to use this phone to play music (other than streaming).
So, anyone have any ideas.
Thanks.
Open music player by touching widget. Touch the arrow by now playing and open up my music. Select songs from the dropdown and start playing them. It will start connecting to that folder.

Thanks for your reply, but unfortunately that only works on music that I downloaded from the internet to the phone, it still doesn't show anything for the stuff that I transferred from my PC.
That is strange. I transfer music from my external drive all the time. Always works for me. Have you tried restarting your phone after putting songs in the music folders?

Yeah, several times. Question: is there any options during the rom install that I might have opted out on that are media related?
I only remove the social media and a few others like drop box, printer etc. I'm sure certain things would effect the way music player functions.

Look for any .nomedia on sd card and erase, next go to app mgr and delete data /erase cache for music /gallery and anything related manually. Reboot in recovery wipe dav and cache , good to go now

I just figured since the OP said as a last resort they would reflash the ROM I would TRY and provide an option which doesn't require them to do this.
I experienced the same issue and a dirty flash didn't fix it and I didn't have the time to wipe and reflash at the time and this was able to get my music up and running in a couple of minutes.

in his first post he says that app didnt work for him-_-
Thanks everybody for your input. I pretty much figured out what the problem is (sort of). It seems that music files transferred over the network using ES File Explorer aren't seen by the music apps. I transferred the same files via usb and even Airdroid and those all seem to work fine. At least I can play my music on my phone now, but it's unfortunate that I can't use ES File explorer, because I really liked how convenient it was.
