No wakeup when plugin charger - HTC Sensation

Hi,
does anybody know a way how i can prevent my Sensation from waking up when i plug in the charger?
I know that there is an option where the device stays awake while charging but i couldn't find anything to keep the display switched off while connecting and disconnecting the charger
My device:
HTC Sensation (german t-mobile branding)
ICS 4.0.3
No root
Thx
Schlubbi

Go to Settings->Developer options -> unmark Stay awake while charging

This option isn't marked. Thats why the display gets switched off after a while. But i want the display to stay switches off when i plug in the charger

Do you want that screen is always on while charging?
then just mark Stay awake while charging

No i want it to be switched off all the time while plugin, unplug and charginf

as for my knowledge - not possible to configure,
probably some custom kernel could have screen on when plugging charger disabled

Mime doesn't turn on sense 4.0 through

the question is - can you configure it from OS, or is it defined in custom kernel/ Faux123?

[IDEA] App that sets Full Brightness when Charging/Dims when not charging

Im not sure if this has been implemented or not, but if it hasnt, I think itd be awesome to have an app that sets the screen to full brightness whenever the phone is charging, and when you unplug the phone from the charger it resets the brightness back to the setting you had before...is there anything like this? If not I think there should be
Power Manager... available in the market.
Locale... but will need to lockscreen/unlock for settings to take effect

[Q] Flashlight, WLAN and Battery Percentage

Hello,
I have three questions about my sensation.
1) If the battery is empty, the LED flash no longer works, can be turned off somehow, so that it always works?
2) My wireless switch off when my Phone is in standby. When I go out from standby, it connects again. Is there a possibility that wireless is always turned on?
3) Can I fit into the standard battery display a percentage figure, so I always know what percentage the battery has?
HTC Sensation

Custom ROM (Revolution HD 3.0.0)
Thanks!

Go to Settings -> Network Settings -> WiFi Settings -> Press Menu-Button and chose advanced Settings
The first option lets you chose wether WiFi should be always on, switches off after 15 minutes or is always on when the device is charged.
(I hope I named the options correctly, my device language is german )
Thank you!
My menu language is also German, but I could find it.
I was often in the settings, I've never had the idea to press the menu button once ^^
Any ideas for my other two questions?

Help: Batter savings on car mounted tablet

Hello,
I wanted to get some suggestions on how i can save battery power on my Xyboard 10.1" Verizon LTE tablet mounted on the dash of my car.
Running Android 4.0.4.
It's power is USB hardwired to a 3v plug (done professionally by local shop) that only gets power when i turn my car on.
I'm using Tasker to launch tasks based on it's power state.
USB power off:
- mobile data off
- wifi off
- bluetooth off
- kill app Sirius
- kipp app Poweramp
- go home
- screen off
USB power on:
- wait 1 second
- mobile data on
- wifi on
- bluetooth on
- toggle bluetooth
- toggle bluetooth (to make sure it connects to bluetooth audio receiver attached to car's stereo headunit)
- launch app Sirius
Is there a "super sleep" mode that i can launch from tasker that will shut everything down except for a trickle of the Android OS listening for a wakeup command?
I noticed under Tasker's display actions these 2 options:
- Lock
- System Lock
does anyone know what they do? Will activating these conserve battery power?
I'm basically asking how to put my tablet into the deepest sleep possible, while still allowing it to wakeup with USB charging power on.
many thanks!
Spending such a high percentage of time at 100% battery charge is actually bad for the battery. So, whether or not you run on battery power, you will inevitably notice a decrease in battery life over time.
If you're not going to use your car for an extended period of time, you could power the tablet off, but you probably already knew that.
Do you leave the tablet mounted in the car at all times, or do you take it with you like a cell phone?
(Sorry, I do not know the answers to your questions about Tasker.)

Interesting point about keeping battery at 100%...makes sense.
i leave the tablet in the car always...the mounting bracket has a keyed lock.
however, even after i turn off data, wifi, gps, etc, i still loose 10% battery over a 12hr period. that's very acceptable.
Do you know of an app that puts the phone/tablet into deep sleep (instead of me using tasker to turn all off)?

Help! Cell Standy by using 90% of battery

I have my Tf700 rooted but locked. I have been trying to just put the tablet to sleep rather than shut off (long boot times). With the sreen off and using Auto Airplane Mode by Don, my tablet is draining by 15 percent overnight (9 hrs).:crying: I'm using Battery Stats Pro. It shows that 'Cell Standby' is using >90% battery. I'm at work right now and my tablet is at home charging so am unable to post a screenshot

Where can I find this auto airplane mode app? Will it work on stock unrooted also? I have noticed "Maps" automatically gets turned on and used by WiFi after the jb update. Anyone know how to fix this? WiFi just stays on and drains the battery.

There's Battery Widget Reborn that will do this also. But then I'm using JuiceDefender Plus on my 3 devices. Works pretty well on my TF700, there's a "night mode"... My tab hardly loose any juice over night. Maybe try one of those...

I have Juice defender Ultimate installed. The problem is that I want the tablet to deep sleep every time I put it in standby. I am still losing 90% of battery to 'cell standby" even with juice defender.
Anyone have an idea about the maps issue?

"90%" Does not mean it drains 90% of your battery.
It means 90% of the current battery drainage belongs to that process. So 90% of the 15% battery drain comes from Cell Standby, the remaining 10% are other processes (usually Screen.). So something else is draining your processes.
Cell Standby is the same as Idle Processes on Windows: Nothing.
It should use about 1-3% per night even without 3rd party airplane mode. So, based on not using that, which of these do you have enabled:
WiFi (Especially the "Keep during sleep" setting. Even with WiFi toggled off, this keeps running undetected. Same goes for USB Ethernet.))"
GPS
Power saving, Balanced or Performance mode?
Power Saving in settings
Auto brightness
Location services (settings --> location services), any of the settings in this menu.
Ever used a USB Ethernet adapter?
Using any overlay apps? (handwriting, graphic effects, alarm etc?)
Does the tablet's location get very cold overnight? Lithium-Ion batteries hate the cold, drains them 10 times as fast.

Idle is called "Tablet idle" on my TF700. "Cell Standby" sounds like the connection to a mobile network, which should not even run on a wifi-only device.

This was my first idea as well -- your 700 doesn't even have a cell connection, so this is a strange entry. Try using BetterBatteryStats or something alike, because the standard Android report of battery consumption is notoriously vague, and most of the times downright incorrect.
This harkens back to my SGS2 tweaking days in which loads of users were clamoring for tweaks to get the Android System consumption down from 99% -- "it is killing my battery" -- even when they had less than 2% overall consumption overnight. LOLOLOL!
These are high-powered devices, people -- if you'd want two weeks of standby time, you should have hunted down an old Nokia Communicator.
I still find a 15% drop in 9h of stand by time a bit high. Mine is a lot less than that...

Hm. Regarding the USB Ethernet adapter: Did you ever set the option "Keep during sleep"?
Reason I ask is because the moment I turned this on, it started draining my tablet+dock in a day, even without the adapter. Turned keep during sleep off and it went back to 1% a day. Never showed up in any battery monitor.
jcp2, do you have the TF700KL model version??
I will plug the usb ethernet adapter back in when I get home and see if the option "keep during sleep" is checked.(I only used the usb adapter twice.) I have the TF700T model.
Update.... I docked the tablet and plugged in the usb ethernet adapter. "keep ethernet awake during sleep" was checked. I unchecked it. I will let it sleep overnight and check the battery usage in the morning.

Fingers crossed, then.
Great news everyone! After following ShadowLea's advice about the unticking the USB Ethernet option for "Keep during sleep" (Which is only visible if you have the USB Ethernet adapter plugged in BTW) I am very happy to report that my tablet lost only 2-3% over a 9 hour period overnight. :victory: Thank you very much everyone, especially ShadowLea for the heads up! :highfive: :good:
Glad it's solved

Same problem here, except even more extreme. My battery dropped from ~90% Tab + ~30% Dock to 24% Tab and a dead dock overnight. The culprit for me also appears to be cell standby at 90% of usage.
I do not have the KL model and so there is no cell radio, and have never used a USB to Ethernet adapter (didn't know that I could, I might try it out now that I know).
Keep WiFi on set to never
GPS Off
Power Mode in Balanced
Power Saver enabled after 30%
Location & Google Search the only location service enabled
No overlay apps.
Kept inside at a reasonable temperature.
I'll try turning off the Location & Google Search, but anyone have other ideas?
EDIT: See screenshot http://db.tt/ph1d0FVT
I keep Airplane mode checked
GPS off
location settings all unchecked
under ASUS customized settings: check "mobile dock battery saving mode" and also check " disconnect network during sleep" , Uncheck "enable smart backlightlighter adjustment"
These settings cured my battery drain problem. Good Luck!
There is a known bug with Location Services that causes battery drain, as it keeps checking for a signal, even with WiFi and the app off. Turn it off

Charging Animation Turning Off After 10 Seconds

Got the 'official' Xiaomi 55w charging dock today (its a really nice piece of kit) but, I can't get the charging animation to stay on whilst its charging. Went into developer options -> Stay Awake tab is on. I've even gone into Lock Screen Settings -> Sleep and selected 10 minutes. As soon as the phone hits the charger it displays the animation, even the 50w Max message but turns off after 10 seconds. Is there some setting I'm missing?
The animation is designed in such a way that it shows charging rapidly/turbocharging for 10 seconds and then it goes off. No setting to keep it going while the phone continues charging. The stay awake tab would keep the device awake to the home screen but it wont make the animation last any longer than what its designed for. Be assured that the phone continues to charge at the set wattage and you can verify that using Ampere just in case you want to keep a track.
Hope that answers your question.
It does. Thank you. I seen the charging animation on youtube reviews and thought there might have been an AOD Always On Display function. Thanks again
