I have 2 backups of my one s, so if I were to get my one s replaced, can I just back up using the backup from my older one s.
I know they would both have to s4 models but is this possible?

I used someone elses nandroid of the 1.84 ROM to update my phone, so it's definitely possible. Not sure if some of your apps might get confused though, so best make a Titanium Backup of apps/data as well to be safe.
Thanks for clearing that up

Right, got my replacement Sensation with Tmobile UK branded rom on.
Having found that there are no stock Tmobile roms about, I would rather back everything up before I root this time.
How do I do this?
Once done, I'm happy to share with everyone else so no one else has to go through the same prob in the future.
If there is a kind dev out there who can help me package everything up properly all the better!!
Thanks

Thanks for the interest but I want to create a virgin backup that can be used to get back to full stock, not to S-Off

Yes, that is why I want to create one as that thread has no Tmobile UK Roms
So is this not possible? I'm sure there used to be ways of dumping off images of yr phone. May have been back on the Kaiser though.
Is there a reason why we have have so manly stock ruus but no Tmobile UK?

Anyone? Surely a Tmobile UK stock ROM would be useful to the community?

Does titanium backup work fine with the one x...I used to use it all the time on my infuse. Completely wiping and downloading the apps over again are getting old.
Thanks

Used it twice after complete wipes without problems when trying new ROMs on my XL
Works fine.
Of course it does. One of the most versatile apps available.

Can confirm it worked fine for me too
Alright I can't for the life of me seem to find the old thread about this, but has anyone figured out how to disable htc linkify on stock 2.20? I tried freezing it and changing the build.prop lines like in 1.85 that made it work and still nothing. Has anyone figured out what you need to do on stock to get links in email and such working?

Hasn't been done yet. Htc sealed it up tight this time

Even for the custom roms? I thought the only thing they really beefed up was the bootloader, which shouldn't affect something like this right?!
Sent from my HTC One X using xda app-developers app
You said stock not custom. CleanROM has HTC linkify fixed. Or at least it did at one point...
Sent from my HTC One XL using xda app-developers app
CleanROM and all ROMs based off non-USA carrier bases don't have linkify.

Yes I said stock but I thought some of the custom roms were based off of the us versions so they would have had some way to get around it but I guess if they are all based off of versions without linkify to start with that makes sense.

Note. I have read through the forums and see that nandroid swapping works in some cases however my question pertains to the specific issue stated below. Thanx in advance.
Okay so here is the deal. My gf and my best friend both have an HTC amaze. I rooted, unlocked bootloader, installed twrp and flashed energy Rom and kernal on both the same. The issue is for some reason WiFi and Bluetooth is not working for amaze1 but its all perfect on amaze2. My plan was to restore a nandroid from the working amaze to the non working amaze. Will this solve the issues at hand? Please help friends

Solved. Restoring the nandroid fixed the whole thing. Now we have two perfect amazes.

Hey xda,
I own a HTC one x. One of my questions is, will I need to setup android sdk and setup adb? It works on my HTC.
Secondly, are there any recent guides on How to root and also how to get back to stock? I found a couple of threads but they seem outdated. Really want to be sure on How to get back to stock since I might need warranty.
My tab runs 4.1.2 atm I think that is the newest version. Could only find root method for 4.03

And what about returning to stock?

A reset, or a reflash wil do the trick
Where are all the required tools for such a reset? I'm sorry it feels like it's all scattered around these forums for this device.

These "settings" can be found in your recovery.
Just shut your tab off en restart it with the powerbutton and the volume button pressed UP at the same time
( and don't let the volume button go until it boots ).
That's how you come in the recoverymenu.
I mean the tools and files to return to stock

Every rom has a recovery. No aditional tool required.
but.....yea always a but....
you can only do a recovery on the current rom.
or you can do a reflash with odin.
