CID changed? - HTC Sensation

i root and S-OFF my phone few months ago using JuopunutBear S-OFF method, and pretty sure i did SuperCID method.
But my CID now had changed to HTC_044 (checked using getprop ro.cid & CID Getter)
ROM List in sequence
ARHD -> AOKPCB -> PkMn -> Viper
i upgraded radio as well, will it modify CID?
and what should i do? change back to SuperCID?

Never seen the CID change from flashing anything before, but doesn't mean it couldn't somehow, ie I haven't seen everything. If you want to flash things not meant for that CID then yes just redo the superCID.

when i use fastboot getvar cid to check CID
it shows that cid : 11111111
previously i check with Terminal and an apps from Play Store and they both show HTC_044
is there any problem? lol

No the apps from store told you always the "old" CID. Thats no problem.

nooo lol
the cid getter and checking cid will check the rom cid
and it can be simply edited in build.prop

I dont get what you mean by that? if it worked to get cid 111111
then yes it will work to go back to stock CID
you just need to know your orginal CID, you can go into terminal and type
su enter
getprop ro.cid
enter
and it should out put your original CID even if you SUPERCID, reasons why i have no clue, i think its reading off your carrier signal cause when you do that in fastboot after you supercid
"getvar CID"
it will give you 111111

That worked for me, except for it all had to be lowercase except "T-MOB010" part... When I copied and pasted it as you have it, it answered with the list of proper usages of fastboot command. But it worked. ThaPirato properly thanked.

[Q] Which is the actual CID? - different response from different tools

Hi,
If I check in fastboot I get CID 11111111 which I set myself during the setup of a custom ROM.
If I check with CID Getter application I get HTC__E11 my original CID.
Which one should I trust?
Also, anybody know if having a super CID would void the warranty? have to return my phone for repair so cleaning it up. All is different now is the CID.
Thanks a lot for your help!

I would trust the one that you get it fastboot as the one you get from CID getter is the one that is in the build.prop of your ROM.
S-OFFing would void your warranty. You need S-OFF to set SuperCID so there. Connect the dots
thanks!
Guess that's a typo and you meant S-OFF voids the warranty. You are right, if I can connect the dots they can do it as well would they check the CID
Need to find a way to change the CID back. Does not allow me to S-off now with revolutionary coz I think I use a too recent RUU (saw some related threads). Will try with an older RUU version.
Cheers,

YES! I meant S-OFF. That was embarrassing
I think you can just write CID just like how you SuperCID'd but writing proper CID instead of 11111111. I haven't done it myself so I can't help you there.
Just go to viper's thread here. He has instructions for S-ONing

I think what you are searching for is
fastboot oem writecid ............ (Your cid)
Be sure to flash a proper ruu first, or you might end up bricking your device turning s on

yep, already got it working.
I guess in my case the writecid was not working because I was back to S-ON and no root anymore
So, I flashed again the 1.50.401.1 ROM WITHOUT accepting the update, S-off, root, change the CID, flash the 1.50.401.1 again, change back to S-ON with the writesecureflag 3. Device can go now to repair.
Thanks for the help, great forum and info sources!

You can use either of the following methods:
fastboot getvar cid
OR
download CIDgetter from the market
EDIT: The fastboot method will work if you have rewritten your CID, e.g. SuperCID. CIDgetter seems to read from a different place and returns your original CID even if you have written SuperCID to the phone.
If you NANDroid'd your Stock ROM, you can find your original CID in your build.prop

custom rom with std app

I am running elegancia 2.1.0 and I don't think this is a problem but when I run cid getter it comes back with tmob010. If I go into adb and run getvar it returnd cid 11111111. I think it is just cid getter that is not working correctly...any thoughts?

Hi,
CID Getter will show you your original CID.
The fastboot one will show if you have supercid ( 11111111 )
Nothing unusual there.

[Q] Sensation won't S-ON

Hi, I am trying to S-ON my HTC Sensation again.
I have run a stock ruu.exe, and changed the hboot to 1.27.0000
The device is unrooted by that if I am right.
If I follow step 5 from this thread ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1192300 ) via the fastboot oem writesecureflag 3 way, when the bootloader reloads, it stays S-OFF
I have tried a lot, and I hope somebody knows whats wrong.
C:\android-sdk-windows\platform-tools>fastboot oem writesecureflag 3
... OKAY
C:\android-sdk-windows\platform-tools>fastboot reboot-bootloader
rebooting into bootloader... OKAY
It says Locked
PYRAMID PVT SHIP S-OFF RL
I have now tried another RUU.exe and tried another way by getting rom.zip and making this PG58IMG.zip, but it still won't S-ON
HBOOT- 1.17.0008
RADIO- 10.11.9007.15_M
eMMC-boot
it doesn't say LOCKED anymore <- is that a problem?
please help me!!! anyone..

Check the cid.. If it is supercid then SON command might not work
So change back to original cid of the phone
Then try SON
Another thing is.. The locked/unlocked status is available from 1.18 hboot only so it normal that 1.17 hboot doesn't show anything

Tnx for replying
I am trying to get the stock cid, I have found my MID is PG5813000 (Fastboot getvar MID), and that means that my cid is VODAPE17?
I have vodafone and I am from the netherlands so I think it should be that one.
When I use fastboot oem writecid VODAPE17 this comes up:
...
(bootloader) Start Verify: -1
(bootloader) erase sector 65504 ~ 65535 (32)
OKAY [ 1.559s ]
finished total time: 1.564s
fastboot getvar cid
cid: 11111111
finished. total time: 0.019s
I have also installed the app CID getter, it said I had HTC__E11, when i tried to write it I got the same error
I can't find any solutions, help again pls

is the phone locked to vodafone netherlands ? then the cid you mentioned is fine
but the RUU cid is saying its HTC_E11 so try that ...
also after changing the cid
do a fastboot reboot-bootloader then verify the cid ..it should change
EDIT: earlier cid change worked fine (check it now it will change )..btw make sure that RUU cid and the cid you are giving is fine and proper one ..then only do SON

there is a work around ..but for that you need to root your device again ..install busybox (ginger bread or ics both will do )
then give me the outputs of these terminal commands
(if using terminal emulator app from phone )inside shell:
su
strings -n 8 /dev/block/mmcblk0p4
and
strings -n 8 /dev/block/mmcblk0p5
also verify what the CID in this output
strings -n 8 /dev/block/mmcblk0p6
terminal outputs
