When you say "stuck at the boot screen" you need to be a lot more precise in describing exactly what boot screen you're talking about...

Yank the battery and HOLD both the volume up and volume down buttons put the battery back in and power on the phone until you get the boot menu, select AP Fastboot, then connect it to you computer and flash the FXZ, there is a how to in this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1396650
Get the right fxz from here:
http://sbf.droid-developers.org/edison/list.php
And patch it from the thread above, all the instructions are about 1/2 way down the page look for how to flash an FXZ, there is a little section on patching the fxz for 2.3.6, make sure you do that.

so i wanted to do a full factory reset did that from the setting's menu on the tablet now i am just getting a boot loop at least that is what is looks like and i can't go into recovery to doing a nand restore so at this point i am a little confused on what do do i rooted on 3.1 and i used the nvflash tool to root and don't remember what rom i am on i am thinking prime 1.5 my boot img looks like a lhoneycomb bee with a bios looking menu i am hoping someone can help me to move into the right direction thanks guys in advance!!
Tried to turn the device off, and boot into recovery?
if that does not work you should try to go into APX mode and use nvflash to flash a stock or cooked rom.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1133014&highlight=nvflash
It appears you already got nvflash+Prime. Worst case, just nvflash again. I just did that for a couple of friend @work, quick and easy.
so just run the same file that i used to root it in the first place?? is there a link for that i can't find it
link in second post nvflash+ stock rom.
bricked transformer

You will need to start with the device turned off before entering APX mode.

Hold Vol+ and then press the powerbutton until screen turnes black. You should hold it down a few more second to make shure APX mode is activated.
This works for me when I stuck at a bootloop.
Your problem is caused by prime's shutdown menu mods (recovery or reboot mod), you just need to flash http://www.sdx-downloads.com/devs/roach2010/Mods/Remove_Power_Button_Mod.zip with CWM.
So when I was trying to FXZ to 2.3.5 (from 2.3.6) to install ICS, my flash kept failing because I hadn't patched the FXZ with the necessary files.
Well I am up and running on ICS now comfortably, but on EVERY reboot my phone automatically boots into fastboot. Just like CWM on boot. I get the fast boot screen, and in the corner it says "Flash failure." But all I do is hit the power button to power down, hold down both volume keys and hold the power button. This brings me to the boot menu, and I merely select boot normally and everything starts fine.
At first this was an annoyance, now I'm used to it. And it got me thinking...
Could this be useful to us guys? Could this somehow save us in the future if we could figure out why my phone is doing it? Is it good to automatically boot into fastboot?
I'll be happy to PM my system.img to someone if they can tell me how to pull it without hardbricking my phone lol.
Thoughts? Devs?

Well the reason is because some part of the fxz actually did not flash correctly... there is a check in the bootloader, and it will throw you into fastboot every time, if any of those checks don't pass. The ONLY way out is to use RSDlite and do the fxz again... but since you are on ICS you don't have much of chance to try it now... just wait and we will see if we can get it all fixed up for fxz again... all of us devs are working togther on this and bunch of other things now.
Perfect. Thanks Jim. As always. I just wasn't sure if it would help or not.
your work and all the other devs work is appreciated man.

I have a Captivate which I had been running SlimICS 4.04 and wanted to try SlimJB so I downloaded the device and common files and flashed through CWMR. It rebooted after flashing the device file (pretty sure it wasn't supposed to do that) and got stuck at the splash screen 9not what I would call a boot loop, it just sits there ... forever). I can get into CWMR and use the volume up/down to cycle through the options, but the power button will not select anything. This is with CWMR Touch 6.0.1.1. Ideally I would just like to be able to reflash the ROM if there's a magic key combination to get CWMR to process a command.
I can get into download mode if using Odin will be necessary.
Thanks
Oh, and I would have posted in the SlimJB section but as you can all see this is my first post.

Oh for goodness sake, that was way too easy ...
Thanks very much, re-install complete and happily rebooting.
Yeah, I ran into both problems (post count) and the key press issue. The dev went on vacation without starting a Q&A thread, and thanks to XDA's lovely policy, we newbs are stuck here.

It's not clear if you are saying it doesn't power on at all or if you're saying it does power on but stops/reboots somewhere during boot?
If it does power on but gets stuck somewhere, can you get to OpenRecovery (press and hold and keep holding volume up button after powering on)? If you can't get into OpenRecovery, you'll need to use RSDlite (Windows) or sbf_flash (linux, mac) to flash a stock SBF (get one from sbf.droid-developers.org). Or you can try getting into stock recovery and doing a factory reset.
If it doesn't power on at all, then maybe the problem is your battery/charging or worse. Sometimes the charging gets stupid.
Can anyone help me fix my g2x? I've rooted it using superoneclick rooting and it worked fine. I wanted to update it to cm7 so I downloaded Rom manager for the cclockwork recovery 5.0.2.0 then I turned off my phone to go to clockwork recovery. Once I'm in the clockwork recovery I backed up my phone to my external sd. After that I cleared the cach and stuff and selected update and selected the update in my external ad with the cm7. Then I rebooted my g2x and it turned on at the lg screen then I waited a little longer and it just went to the a black screen and it just flashes the light in the screen on and off.
I tried the following:
- nvflash, i would follow the videos on YouTube but it wouldn't flash the rom on my phone.
- manual reset by holding the power button and (-) volume button and it would go to the android screen were the android would be extracting things and that's we're I supposed to let go so I let go and it would just do the same.. Go to the lg screen then to a black screen with the internal light on the screen flashing on and off.
- I tried holding the power button and (-) volume button and let go of the power button once its on and it would go to a update screen, so I left it for the whole day and the next day it would still be in the same update screen
Please Help!!!

I don't have a clue what to do or which to follow. Can you please tell which procedure I have to do first? I just want my phone to be factory reseted.
Just read the op and follow the steps. You need to flash cwm to be able to flash any roms. It's even numbered.
