What are HTC giving out as warranty replacements?
My Sensation is back into HTC for its third repair in 3 weeks
If they fail, its replacement, what are HTC UK giving out as warranty replacements as new sensations no longer seem to be available?
I had a warranty replacement last week and it was the Sensation so they must still be producing them?!
I bets they a shelf somewhere with a couple dozen on it.
Was it sealed brand new?

It wasn't sealed no but it had the nice film that is on it when you buy it brand new not just the crappy screen protector that they put on it when they send you back a repaired phone, so my guess is that it is brand new. Out of curiosity what was the problem that you had?

Unlucky man, I hope that HTC will actually replace your phone! I had to go through a massive amount of trouble to get HTC to cough up and give me a new device, in the end I had a massive rant to one of the call centre supervisors and they sent me a new phone
HTC tracking saying repair complete
bets on it not being ?
grumble grumble
they've sent the phone back sim locked, I sent it sim unlocked
and the IMEI's are now all to ****
The IMEI on the box does not match the sticker on the phone and the IMEI in the phone does not match the other two.
ffs HTC
how the hell could I ever sell this phone if I wanted too?
and now
And now the wifi is screwing up again like at the very start of the faults
white screens and refusal to start
And it locked up on Netflix after 15 minutes of video and buzzed at me till I pulled the battery.
replacement approved
it will be a sensation built in the UK repair centre from new parts AND USED PARTS !!!
strange

Hi folks,
I've had my Sensation for 3 days tops and something has happened to the back cover. It doesn't wipe off, have absolutely no idea what caused this.
Pretty poor considering it's two days old and treated with kid gloves, couldn't have looked after this phone more if I tried. Crazy.
My GS2 is still prestine, not a mark or scuff anywhere.

Nothing like that on either of my two back covers. I'd get it exchanged.

ffs... you had to send the entire phone back?
I've changed roms and allsorts already.
Yeah I'd ask HTC to supply you a new one, not acceptable really. Probably only a minor problem on a select new units because the build quality is usually top notch.
I've emailed HTC via the customer service channels on their site and attached a pic. See how it goes. Sending the entire phone back would be ridiculous. Cost them more in shipping, hassle and man hours.
I had a similar issue I think with my original cover. I had it less than 10 days, always on micro cloth etc. and I had a spot in the back cover. Of course everyone here will tell you it is something you are doing wrong but I handle my phones with the greatest care and always get top dollar for resale.
In the End HTC sent me a new cover and I have not had anymore problems so far, knock on wood..
T-Mobile have said I would need to replace the whole handset if I go through them. I hope HTC have a better answer, got it setup how I like, the battery is warmed up and broken in nicely too.

That sucks.
I will start the bidding at $.01
There is a guy in the general section looking for parts.
I say 20 is a fair price..

Man that really sucks. At least I think my phone is still salvagable (knock on wood). I dropped my phone after having it only one week and shattered the screen. I installed a new $70.00 screen after a lot of work removing all the broken glass and everything went well until I tried to connect the antenna connector to the motherboard and ended up pulling the connector off the cable.

Just curious, not criticizing. Why did you pay $70 just for the part when LG will replace the front of the phone with digitizer for around $70 and the work is done by an LG factory trained tech? You have to wait a couple of weeks but worth it to get an OEM part and the job done right. The parts on eBay are not OEM even though they claim them to be. They are usually Chinese made substandard ripoff parts.
The price for the LG service repair of the digitizer and front of phone is what people who sent it in to LG paid for service. There are many threads regarding this from about three or four months ago if you search the forums. People said turnaround time was about two weeks.
All the people on eBay and the Chinese parts sites claim OEM but almost none of them are. Do you really believe HTC, LG, Samsung etc are going to sell their genuine parts to these people? Heck no! You are lucky if the quality of your screen is good as many of these parts that are claimed to be OEM are pure crap.
Try Gazelle.com. I've seen them sell phones on Ebay that are worse off then this. So maybe they will give you $75-$100 or something.
Wups, didn't see the previous post until after I replied.
Also why would T-Mobile not offer you there $50 unlimited talk/text and 100mb of internet plan or $60 for 2gig's of internet. That sounds weird. Also you could of got there $30 unlimited talk or $30 100 minute talk and 5 gig's of data.
So I take care of my phones, pristine condition!
I left my phone on the coffee table, and no less than 5 minutes later, my dog decides to be insanely hyper and wacks it with his tail about 10 feet across the room....
It shouldn't have broken as the room is carpeted, but I think it hit the screen on the corner of my entertainment center.
In other words, it's completely smashed. The screen still works and responds to inputs just fine, everything else is perfect, just a shattered screen...
So would it be cheaper/better/faster etc. to sell it on ebay and just buy a new one, or send it in to have the screen repaired?
Or how easy is it to replace it myself, and where would I buy a new screen?
On ebay you can get lcd assembly for around 120 USD.
And watch tear-down video (Le55ons on youtube) about Nexus 5
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OPuCmfhzgbg
you can decide for yourself if you can do it.
Is that much of a difference in cost than sending it in?
Sent from my Nexus 5 using xda app-developers app
I would get a new one regardless of cost.

Well, on top of the replacement cost you will pay labor/shipping ... So, you might be better at the end just buying new device
Yeah, I guess that's what I'll do then. Buy a new one and hope to get some decent recovery selling this one on ebay for parts or something....

Do you still have this phone? I need the logic board for a nexus 5. I am interested in buying it.

Do not buy or you might be disappointed. I got it today and found the label peeling off, and when I stuck it back on, it started to cover the printing.

Regrettably that it really isn't. I never had a problem with batteries marked OEM. But I guess the good news the seller refunded me the money and said to keep it our toss it out. There are still a few who believe in truth in advertising. I have reported the seller to eBay. But I doubt anything comes from that. If they don't say OEM, I know I am taking a chance to save a few bucks.

I have buying them for years, never a problem. I normally notice the little details, like the waves missing in the battery. (The NFC antenna) but failed this time. But at least I got my money back. If I wanted cheap Chinese batteries, I would have bought the ones for five bucks.

eBay is full of knock offs for things like batteries. Just gotta find a legit seller and stick to it.

There is a few legit sellers, my mistake was not looking at my saved sellers list. A mistake I am not about to repeat twice, even though this time really didn't cost me anything...
Hi there, just thought I would share this with you and ask what you think.
So, I have a Moto G 3rd (bought it a month ago), I quite liked it and was a good upgrade from my original Moto G. However, I never expected it to be so fragile. After one small fall (like 30 cm) my screen seems to be completely messed. I mean the display, as outside the phone is just fine, no cracks or anything, and it was the first time I dropped it. Here's a picture:

This is really disapointing, and I'm in complete shock, as probably warranty won't cover it and the phone was a major investment for me. Has any of you had a similar experience? Is the moto G not as resistant has it once was? The original one could take a LOT of damage, and it just dying like this on me breaks my heart.
So, what should I do? I contacted Motorola on the website and after a long talk they basically just told me to go to the store where I bought it, which I'll do thursday (it's far from where I live), but I fear they won't offer help. If they don't, is there a way to still send it to Motorola and pay for the repairs? I've tried china replacements on other phones and was never quite satisfied, and this is a new phone :/
Thanks for reading, needed to share my pain!
That's exactly what happened to my previous phone (samsung galaxy s3 neo). Screen was ok, also because it was protected by a tempered glass, but the lcd broke and only showed a few purple lines.
Unfortunately, the outside screen spare was quite cheap (30 euros) while the lcd repair was 120 euros, so I decided to buy the moto. A bumper should protect from this kind of accident.
I'm afraid it's bad news.
Hi guys, just here for a quick update.
I went back to the store and since the device was in very good shape they sent it to warranty and said it could go off has a gpu fault.
I'll update when I, hopefully, get it back!

Great news, let's keep finger crossed and hope they can fix it for free.
Hi again!
Just here to tell you guys I got my phone back and the repair was covered by warranty! Hope my story helps if anyone runs into similar trouble. It was fairly quick too! (2 weeks)
Bear in mind my phone only had 1 month and was in really good shape (no scratches).
