i had a question if searet roms (ota update)can run on at&t phones (since bullet rom was based on indian rom)

cause i have heard that indian roms are very well compatible with at&t phone

actually i own international phone but if its possible then no need of droid rom ports
but devs can now prepare cwm from our very own ics~~

This phone has been out for over 10 months now, we have pretty much seen it all now, the answers to most questions are just a search away, and this one would have turned up more than 10 or so of this exact same thread.
Please remember the number one rule on XDA still applies:

Now to answer your question we would have already done that with one of the leaks if it was possible, but unfortunately it is not possible, I am sorry to say the hardware differences and the way the bootloader checks are, it will not even flash.
Extremely sorry but while reading post of first leaks some devs were saying they are waiting for the searet rom release :O

Please if its been posted,tell me where and ill read it but a quick search revealed nothing. I just picked up my inspire and when I check for HTC update it shows there is one. Do I need to update before rooting? Also what changes are there as far as any major steps to flashing a Rom. Like if I want inspired ace can I just root,flash recovery and install Rom? Or does the bootloaders need to be flashed before flashing a gingerbread Rom? Sorry for the 838393 million questions but I'm a long time Samsung user lol,I know my way around rooting and flashing but I know HTC phones can be a little different

anyway, like he said do that .. as far as the update first or not:
you can flash whatever radio you want after you are done rooting; for me i rooted before the OTA, but for wifey we did the update first.. it doesn't matter, as the info will be destroyed during the root anyway.
you cannot OTA after root from what i gather, as i was never offered the update as i was rooted

Lol sorry for putting it like that. It's just sometimes someones question sounds like one that's been answered already,but they mean it in a different specific way. Here lately people have been a little rude about the whole "its been answered" but really I just have a hard time explaining exactly what I mean in text. I don't mind reading the stickies but sometimes it gets confusing if you are new to a device and don't know what stage the development is at lol. But thanks man,ill go read the stickies and if I have any problems ill just post back here lol. Appreciate the kind answer

Well don't take it to harshly most are just sarcastic. I mean I am just sarcastic.
What doesn't help is when you can't truly tell for sure if its a playful sarcasm or mean sarcasm. It sometimes is hard to tell considering we are talking to each other in text form. There have been some posts I've read, not by you, but others, that I couldnt particularly tell if they were being mean or just being a smart @ss just to mess with someone without offending. I just wanna say something to the ones who have meant there sarcasm in a mean way. My wife's cousin coined these 2 phrases, and I like using them a lot. "Can't we all just smoke a bong!" My favorite method is to apply the OTA and then use Gingerbreak. Chainfire is a fantastic developer and I used gingerbreak to install rom manager, flash CWM, and get your flashing on.
I apologize if these have ever been asked. I just barely have purchased the Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket and have been doing research on it but haven't found a direct answer to some questions so I am really hoping someone here will help me out.
1. When does the Official OTA of the ICS 4.0 get released for this phone or is it already released? (I am waiting for my battery to charge fully for 24 hours as I was told before turning it on and checking for updates)
2. If there is no Official OTA date of the ICS 4.0 in the next few weeks would you recommend I root the phone and put on a custom ROM?
3. If yes to question #2, which ROM? Is it in Beta or Alpha Mode?
4. If yes again to question 2 & no to question 3, where can I get this ROM? Could you please send me the URL to the download and instructions.
I would be FOREVER grateful to any and all that can give me advice on this new phone of mine as I am quite excited to give it a try but I noticed so many phones like this have the official OTA of ICS 4.0 and I would LOVE Ice Cream Sandwich if possible. THANKS so MUCH!

Soo, i'll explain the point xcrazy is getting at. No one minds helping new users, but help yourself first. The search feature is your friend, as well as reading. I have been using miui.for XT701 for a long time。 everything works very well.but I feel very bad after i buy a new Atrix 2 last month. rom for A2 is little。there is no roms such like CM7/9 and miui. It seems that make a miui for A2 is easier.Can any one make one for our Atrix 2 .Thank

Sorry but that is not possible right now.
We have a locked bootloader on the atrix2 so, there is not a way to install non-stock ROMs until we can figure a way to get the bootloader unlocked. This also applies to AOSP and AOKP ROMs as well. The issue is these all require kernels to run, and you can not flash a kernel with a locked bootloader.
The ATRIX 2's bootloader is locked, therefore such roms as you've mentioned will not be 1) made for the ATRIX 2 nor 2) work on the ATRIX 2 until the bootloader is unlocked. A few simple forum searches could have shed some understanding regarding this, had you taken the time to do so. We're all getting unnecessarily frustrated seeing new locked bootloader-related and ICS/JB threads posted here when doing a little leg work to research on your own before cluttering up the forum would answer most -if not all of your questions. Please read this thread and watch the video (again) so hopefully we can manage to quell these types of things before they get out of hand more than they've already gotten: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1778853

Where? You created a thread, but never put any ROM in that thread, in the dev section, plus it was for the ME865 not the MB865.
I will give you a system image, if you can actually produce the ROM and post it in the dev section. If I don not see it in there in the next week, I will hunt you down... JK... I will PM you with a link, but YOU CAN NOT share this with the world yet, we are not quite ready to support this yet.

i port miui2.3 v1.1 is based att,but because lots of my friend ask me based me865,so i changed.

Transplantation of miui V4 need not unlock bootloader.We can use official roms to make new one.Chinese official MIUI have give a course for us to

So I have been reading alot of post saying that the OTA is released in Asia. So I have an AT&T A2 from the US that's rooted and has cheesecake installed. Is there anything that I need to do to have a successful update? I'm on 2.3.6 right now and as far as I know I haven't changed any of my system files, other than how I look for updates.

Good sir, there are MANY posts on how to get your A2 on ICS. We officially have three ICS leaks for this phone.

I have acquired a Motorola Atrix 2 from a best friend of mine. I have been following XDA for years thank you for all the help with my optimus v. I do not know how to tell which leak I have I apologize but I have looked at the threads until my eyes have I apologize but I have looked at the threads until my eyes have bled and then looked again and I still see so much conflicting information I do not know what to do or think anymore. I want to know if I am running scvc 7 ICS supercharged.. If I can go to another rom. I hope I find out I have one of the phones that I can go back to Gingerbread. My friend is clueless he has no answers for me. again I a I'm not exactly a noob but . I owe is much is i know so far to you all so thank you in advance

Post a screenshot of your about phone screen. If the kernel build has a mid july build date, then it is leak 1 and you can go back to GB using my script in the dev section.
Otherwise you can only run ICS based ROMs (yes you can run any ROM that is ICS based, just not GB based ones).
If you have issues it is easy to use the ICS FXZ, as we did not have that yet when leak one and two were out. Hence the issues and bricks. You MUST know which version of the phone though (ATT, Asian, or HK) To properly use an FXZ, or you have a chance to brick.
Had to break out my optimus v, and I would like to personally thank you for responding so quick. I expected to get really beat up I have been following you all for years and I know how it is horrible to be redundant here. Well my new friend it looks like I am on week 2. I do not know what to do where I should go from here but I will tell you what more stable even stock would be better even if it is a ICS leak. I don't know why they call it a leak if it came over the air does that mean AT&T in Motorola send out experimental software? the fact that I'm posting speaks to the power that this phone is an anomaly. Through the years I have never once had to post. All of my hard questions have been answered by you all in advance.

thank you, does this tell you that I'm on the second leak? I don't know where to look to find out how to install a permanent recovery.. I suppose I'll have to use boostrap.. scary concept....
and FXZ..New one to me. I'll search the threads more for that.. unless you want to throw new some more hints. my girlfriend and I, are so grateful

Think that's official. It's same as I have, and i fxz'd to official 4.0.4.
Going back to gingerbread is worthless. It'd be like going from Windows 7 back to xp.
We don't use bootstrap anymore, and If you have I'd fxz to stock, root it, and then install boot menu manager, or BMM. then can flash the newer stuff.
But be aware the what your on and Numa are the only fully functional and stable ones we have.

Hey thanks man. We bought this from my best friend actually it was a gift. It is on leak two I believe according to Jim and also it came with SCV7. It is already rooted. I am just confused as to the next step to do how to FXZ ..it is AT&T phone. I am scared to death I will brick this ! And the scary thing is I have rooted been custom ROMs and recoveries on many different phones for friends and coworkers but I have never encountered anything like this Motorola Edison

wow that is incredible. And there is a lot of love in this place. I appreciate that. My next move is to borrow my friends laptop as mine has died and get started hopefully this weekend. I will report the results. Did I say you guys were awesome? Voice love this place and I cannot wait to start my classes, I'm going to study Linux and computer technology at the local community college here. And from there who knows.
