I think it is the immature video title that got him banned, I have seen tons of 'apple sucks' themed videos on YouTube, And all of them have a decent video title like 'Here's why I hate Apple' or '5 reasons to use PCs over Macs'
Its not the general theme of the video that got him banned, Its the title.

Same. My first root dives were due to Max's recommendations.
We don't know its due to the title. That's just a very fair assumption. None of these tech companies want people like Zedo talking about how their devices tick. They want us to think the mproducts work on magic. The industry is against the informed shopper.

so you want someones thread for a request closed because you and a few others think a certain app is not worthy of the great hd2......if this app doesnt interest you just move onto the next thread. some of us actually like fun/useless apps to mess about with now an again. really cant see the problem. thats all im gonna say, have a good day now.........
I don't know why lots of people on XDA Devs are such downers. He just asked for an interesting app and everyone comes and flames him because he's not "serious" enough or whatever the flying heck that means.
I've seriously seen some people asking for some help on the HD2 and when no one can help him, he gets criticized for being an iPhone sympathizer and turned away.
If some people want a rotary app you just say if you can help or turn away, don't leave a jerk comment, and close the thread. No need to be rude, witty or worse.

The iPhone has some great apps. It would be nice if they worked on the HD2. But they don't. But when people ask if there's a comparable app, I don't see a problem with it. I myself am one of your "Serious Users," and I wish there were more of the little fun apps for the HD2.

the funny thing is, i guess that no one would have been upset about this request/thread if there wasn't such an app for the iphone
Ok so here is the curveball i am not being obnoxious and i am sorry if i came across as such, i guess i just am a little sore as i guess many other people are that the windows market place is no where and probably never will be close to the App store, so it is just something i have come to accept. I may have bitten yesterday but it just seems to be so frequesnt people wanting the HD2 like the iphone which it will never be. I am always the first to jump at a new app and still am.
I just found it this morning. Suck on this apple we can do Pocket God too!! Finally the android market is catching up to Iphone Market.
The game is supper buggy like all of the other apple to android apps.
Its also freaking massive without a to SD option. Which kinda sucks.
I played it for like 20 minutes and I noticed that every once in a while my islanders would spontaneously turn into massive random pixel boxes.
Oh and if you have a lower end phone good luck. My Evo ran this just fine but my old Hero was crazy slow. So snapdragon devices should be fine as far as I can tell.
I'm not trying to advertise I promise. I just wanted people to know what I found.

It is running against the non commercial, open philosophy of xda-developers.
But you are right, it is a good question. But a very difficult one. How do you keep a forum open for development, knowledge sharing etc. and at the same time allow commercial activities. Hard one. Think of Apple and Microsoft together on one forum "sharing" some knowledge and experience. You gonna love that.

If there was a free version, that would be ok. However, this is a paid app and as such, that is why appelflap called you on the non-commercial rules of XDA (namely Rules 7 and 11). I know that you posted without the intent of selling this, but rules are rules and we cannot allow commercial links in here. If the devs of the game feel like they can offer a free version (much like the good boys at Rovio did with Angry Birds), then they can bring it here. Until then, I will have to edit your first post to remove the market references. This will be left open for discussion purposes only.

I have been waiting for this to come to android before I even bought my phone lol.
it works great on my Incredible, no lag or F/Cs so far.
Force close on Galaxy S too. Not a lot of good if it isn't going to work on some of the best selling droid handsets but I'll wait for an update before passing judgement.

They have updated it a bit. It no longer force closes on the vibrant and seems to load faster and does to sd card(froyo needed.)
Update has solved my f/c. Much better.

For a moment I went "YAAAAY!" but then I saw that it's just another pointless thread about "what the HTC support guy said".
HTC support may be telling you that the update is already being released, but since no one here on XDA (or anywhere else) actually received the update, we can safely assume that they are wrong.
Also, if you would have taken the effort to post in the correct forum, you would have noticed that there's already a similar thread running: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1186791
Exact same situation: guy goes to HTC support, asks about the update, support replies with "uhh, I guess so?" and everybody goes apesh*t about an update which hasn't even been released yet.

There are too many 'desire' , hd, z, s..currently the gb update is rolling out for the desire z
U have to ask to the customer support about the Htc Desire Bravo.
Anyway better wait that someone get the update.

We have seen those chat screenshots already, but FYI - HTC support doesn't see difference between HTC Desire and HTC Desire Z / S etc. which leads to such conversations IMO.

Over the years, xda has grown dramatically.
And as more people are getting Smartphones, the more people will come here. It´s logical behavior as it is well known that this community is one of the largest, and one of the best for all kinds of devices.
Yes, there are beginners who come here and seem not to be aware of any kind of "netiquette", acting sometimes rude, sometimes straight out stupid.
For long time users and members, it is clear to search something oneself at a start, in almost all cases, you will find something.
It gets indeed boring and disturbing to see the same and the same questions again and again, you feel like a hamster in its wheel. Some people seem to be just too lazy to work out something themselves.
If you´re nice and friendly, you´ll always get positive feedback - just like in "real life": The "virtual" life is part of that, you should not separate both. In some cases I think I am thankful not to meet such egoistic, self-centered guys on the street, acting like they do here.
For myself, I tend not to say "everybody loves everybody", but "respect". Especially those skillful, energetic devs who share their great work with us, making our user experience with our devices even more fun. Since I don´t have the knowledge, nor the time to gather such know-how, I am more than happy and thankful to all contributors at xda and other forums.
Keep the netiquette, as if you want to meet a new girlfriend/boyfriend, and you´ll be fine...
This ROM is being based off Xboarder, it is total basic. Much faster than Xboarder. You guys will see all the system apps i deleted! Everything is extra smooth. I removed lwp but u can add them later!

i think we should stop being surprised by age and everything with the doubting and whatever. im just wondering what a kid would be doing with a cell phone like a sensation at his age and who was the one that taught him or when he started learning.
if this is coming out soon, please include the ring lockscreen style
People are making a big deal about this and he hasn't posted anything yet. Don't get me wrong, I encourage all people to share on xda if they want to but from the sounds of it he deleted some system apps and might of made a couple tweaks. I'm not downgrading him at all cuz even that is impressive at age 12. Xboarder has developed some nice stuff for the age of 16 which is truly awesome! I wish both of you youngins great success .

Considering the "ROM-maker" has actually replied in this thread himself, I'd say that it's not a problem and all cleared with both parties.
