Is there any similar rotary dialer app for HD2? Kind of cool haven't used this kind of dial for at least 30 years!

i dont think it is that (and thank you for your kind dig) i think it is more that a serious users want a solid "serious" (in your terms) phone, if we wanted a toy we would of spoken to Tomy

so you want someones thread for a request closed because you and a few others think a certain app is not worthy of the great hd2......if this app doesnt interest you just move onto the next thread. some of us actually like fun/useless apps to mess about with now an again. really cant see the problem. thats all im gonna say, have a good day now.........
I don't know why lots of people on XDA Devs are such downers. He just asked for an interesting app and everyone comes and flames him because he's not "serious" enough or whatever the flying heck that means.
I've seriously seen some people asking for some help on the HD2 and when no one can help him, he gets criticized for being an iPhone sympathizer and turned away.
If some people want a rotary app you just say if you can help or turn away, don't leave a jerk comment, and close the thread. No need to be rude, witty or worse.

The iPhone has some great apps. It would be nice if they worked on the HD2. But they don't. But when people ask if there's a comparable app, I don't see a problem with it. I myself am one of your "Serious Users," and I wish there were more of the little fun apps for the HD2.

the funny thing is, i guess that no one would have been upset about this request/thread if there wasn't such an app for the iphone
Ok so here is the curveball i am not being obnoxious and i am sorry if i came across as such, i guess i just am a little sore as i guess many other people are that the windows market place is no where and probably never will be close to the App store, so it is just something i have come to accept. I may have bitten yesterday but it just seems to be so frequesnt people wanting the HD2 like the iphone which it will never be. I am always the first to jump at a new app and still am.

I have not seen any port like that, but the guys over at www.pocketcm.com, are developing a new image viewing app, not as refined as the Touch one, but very similar and touchy. I have it installed and is really cool and free.
If you find it good enough consider donating to the author.

there will be an update for the 'older' HTC Touch I, so they will get this new TouchFLO v2 with ImageViewer soon....and so I hope all of us will get is soon too

yes there are some people that think that if it cost more, it will be better, even if they don't need all that 'better' stuff...
the scroll interface and this new image interface are some real benefits of the TouchFlo...the cube is just decoration and a bit overloaded...

no offence, but not really impressed...
the real benefit for me on a ppc is that there are thousands of programs that give an added value to your device. some really nice software like pocket informant, mobiledb, tv guide, novii remote,igo etc and this touch image viewer...all the ones you seem to hate
they all together make my (old) phone run slowly, but they can make it worth for me...withouth these you could just buy yourself an iphone...

If you mean improve by making it not too sensitive, there a cab ( not sure where ) that will make it less sensitive. Search for it.

I'm not sure what he means, but I personally am quite frucstrated by HD2's screen responsiveness and accuracy.
Sometimes the screen behaves strangely, like it presses or slides all by itself. Not to mention that typing is a big problem. Is it only a "too-responsive" problem?
The best thing and actually the only thing that made the iPhone a success "NOT", was the capacitive screen.. If hTC/WinMo used this method before, there would be no iPhone since Capacitive screen really helps with the graphics movements and catches the eyes of the Lame iPhone huggers..
But i think its all written, hTC/WM were behind with the screen technology so that no loser would buy a kick ass WinMo device and fall for the incredibly overrated iPhone..

Yeah i know, people have been asking this for a long time now. But the thing is, if they wanted Android, i wonder why did they buy a HD2 in first place? haha
I, too, came from android, but I wanted to try winmo that's why i went with Hd2 instead of nexus one. Although i miss android, I don't think the Hd2 needs Android. I love it so far. just hoped sling player worked on it. otherwise, phone is great.
to the OP:
i would suggest looking into evo or something else, if u want android man. Don't hope everything can be ported these days. Porting a mobile OS is a pain in the you know what. And these devs who doesn't get paid to port, won't port it unless they really want to sacrifice precious time of their lives.

Its cause when I suggest HD2 being great hardware but the software is crap people just believe the hype... In my store we reset the phones at least 2 a week because it crashes...
ive buyed hd2 because of the good hardware. but i thik android its better than WM 6.5.

I just found it this morning. Suck on this apple we can do Pocket God too!! Finally the android market is catching up to Iphone Market.
The game is supper buggy like all of the other apple to android apps.
Its also freaking massive without a to SD option. Which kinda sucks.
I played it for like 20 minutes and I noticed that every once in a while my islanders would spontaneously turn into massive random pixel boxes.
Oh and if you have a lower end phone good luck. My Evo ran this just fine but my old Hero was crazy slow. So snapdragon devices should be fine as far as I can tell.
I'm not trying to advertise I promise. I just wanted people to know what I found.

It is running against the non commercial, open philosophy of xda-developers.
But you are right, it is a good question. But a very difficult one. How do you keep a forum open for development, knowledge sharing etc. and at the same time allow commercial activities. Hard one. Think of Apple and Microsoft together on one forum "sharing" some knowledge and experience. You gonna love that.

If there was a free version, that would be ok. However, this is a paid app and as such, that is why appelflap called you on the non-commercial rules of XDA (namely Rules 7 and 11). I have been waiting for this to come to android before I even bought my phone lol.
it works great on my Incredible, no lag or F/Cs so far.
Force close on Galaxy S too. Not a lot of good if it isn't going to work on some of the best selling droid handsets but I'll wait for an update before passing judgement.

They have updated it a bit. It no longer force closes on the vibrant and seems to load faster and does to sd card(froyo needed.)
Update has solved my f/c. Much better.

Yes, there are beginners who come here and seem not to be aware of any kind of "netiquette", acting sometimes rude, sometimes straight out stupid.
For long time users and members, it is clear to search something oneself at a start, in almost all cases, you will find something.
It gets indeed boring and disturbing to see the same and the same questions again and again, you feel like a hamster in its wheel. Some people seem to be just too lazy to work out something themselves.
If you´re nice and friendly, you´ll always get positive feedback - just like in "real life": The "virtual" life is part of that, you should not separate both. In some cases I think I am thankful not to meet such egoistic, self-centered guys on the street, acting like they do here.
For myself, I tend not to say "everybody loves everybody", but "respect". Especially those skillful, energetic devs who share their great work with us, making our user experience with our devices even more fun. Since I don´t have the knowledge, nor the time to gather such know-how, I am more than happy and thankful to all contributors at xda and other forums.
Keep the netiquette, as if you want to meet a new girlfriend/boyfriend, and you´ll be fine...
