Use 4EXT recovery
It's much more compatible for sensation roms
Also superwipe runs on 4EXT.
To flash 4EXT step #2 (if SON follow step #3 too) from below guide

Sent from my pyramid.. Through blazing fast sonic waves
EDIT: Everything is ok now i mback to stock RUU ,looks like i had problems with USB Cable, huge thank you ganeshp ,have a great day!
Hey guys, I know 4EXT works fine but would like to know why CWM is giving this error?
A while ago I was on CWM, until I suddenly came across the exact same error. I've read somewhere that this is related to a corrupted internal SD card, and while 4EXT works fine I'd still like to know if this is just an incompatibility with the CWM recovery or an actual corrupted internal SD card causing this?

Since yesterday I have the strange problem. Searched the forum but can't find any solution thats right for me.
I testet a sense 3.5 rom (Insertcoin) and then wanted to restore an backup. It went wrong. So I wanted to wipe everything and flash my old rom new.
No I get the error messege when I want to wipe data/factory reset?
What could I do to solve this problem?
I also tried superwipe from the revolution rom, but this doesn't solve my problem :-(
I just want to wipe everything and then flash a new fresh rom.
What I tried so far:
Installed the original Vodafone RUU. Then installed clockworkmod (latest version) then installed root.
Error still occurs.
I got the same problem!

This just happened to me after flashing stock RUU again and installing CWM and CM7.
Should i worry or is it irrelevant?
Also Now in the bootloader it says
LOCKED but s-off on hboot 1.18 should i run Revolutionary again? I tried but it would just close a second after. I did manage to flash CM7
format volume problem

Thanks for your info Theonew ....

I'm having this same problem, and my Wildfire S is a marvelc phone. I tried the file for just marvel, and it installed but got stuck on a black screen while booting up. The marvelc file just aborts stating "status 7".

Do you mean wiping everything? I've done that, many times. If an installation fails, I always go back to recovery and do four wipes: factory restore, wipe cache, wipe dalvik cache, and wipe battery stats. Nothing changes. Is there something I'm missing?

Try wiping the dalvik cache then rebooting (you could even remove the battery and try again if that doesn't work). If the issue persists, try reporting it in the ROM's thread.

I can't post in the development section yet, so I'll just keep trying. I've done all of that. I found a thread that details how to s-off, so I'm gonna try that and see if it makes a difference.
Edit: I've now S-OFFed my phone, but still no go with CM9. Here's what's weird: Although I have a marvelc phone, I tried the marvel build just for the heck of it. The marvel build "installs" but doesn't boot (get's stuck on black screen), while the marvelc build fails installation and gives me the same error that the OP posted. I had this same problem with Paranoid as well.
I can't tell you how many times I've wiped, formatted, partitioned, re-formatted, re-partitioned, pulled the battery out, etc. I get the same error every time. Is there something else I'm missing, perhaps?
I found the answer to this in this thread here, on page 5. Setting up CM9 as I type this

:good:.
Hey guys could definitely use some help.
I've been having a lot of errors while flashing anything on my phone.
Setup: CR JL Beta 1 w/ ElementalX-5.0-vanilla
hboot: 1.09 S-On
TWRP: 2.4.3.0
Radio: 3.17
I have wiped Cache --> Davlik --> System --> Factory Reset --> SD Card
Mounted SD through TWRP and loaded CR 6 (download via phone & computer)
While flashing I get the following message:
E:Error in /sdcard/CleanROM 6.zip
(Status 1)
Error flashing zip '/sdcard/CleanROM 6.zip'
Updating partition details...
I have tried reinstalling TWRP, downloading the CR 6 zip multiple times....I don't know what else to do. Any advice?

I thought that might be the problem how/where do I get 2.4.2.0 on my phone. Unfortunately I deleted the file when wiping my SD card.

Home of TWRP past and present
This worked perfectly, thanks for your help.

2.3.3.1 is a better choice. Have had nothing but problems with 2.4.x.x so far.
One of them doesn't nandroid backup properly, another doesn't install, another won't mount sd properly in recovery, and another has issues with Adb I think.
Everytime I have installed 2.4.x.x something was broken, and I went back to the latest 2.3.x.x and all was well.
2.3.3.1 should be considered the latest stable release for us and any 2.4.x.x considered beta.

Today when I started a Wipe with TWRP for flash a previous release of Paranoid Android because the new one have many bugs the wipe froze so I decided to format with SD Formatter and I was unable to do anything, I ever have "E:Unable to mount '/cache', E:Unable to mount '/data', E:Unable to mount '/system'"
I can't flash Rom, do a wipe it's always on a loop.
Thanks in Advance.

I assume you were using TWRP 2.7? Then I can't give you much hope, since no one figured out yet how to repair that or if it's repairable at all.

I used the TWRP 2.7.0.0 (not the last 2.7.1.x version) since it is available for HTC Sensation without problem, flashing many roms and do many wipe without problem.
I'l follow the TWRP thread then if a solution is possible..
Thank you for trying to help me.

Even the 2.7.0.0 is not without problems. There seems to be something broken which breaks the emmc.
