Anker batteries - HTC Sensation

Does anker make a bigger battery than a1900 mah?
Sent from my HTC Sensation 4G

I believe 1900 mAh is the biggest one Anker makes. If you want a bigger capacity, you'll have to go with a different brand.

yeah just check on ianker dot com and they only go up to 1900 the only thing is that IMO anker seems to be the only legitimate line that actually delivery the performance that it states theres a "2450" gold battery made from china that is false advertizing but i would go with anker its the better of them al IMO

the 1900mah is the only stock sized battery anker makes. the evo 3d uses the same style battery, and you can see there are higher capacity units available. I thought there was a double capacity 3800mah one but can't find it. Must have been mistaken. Of course the larger batteries would require a larger aftermarket housing.
The larger capacity batteries don't scale with price linearly unfortunately.
If you don't mind the bulk, you could get http://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-EXTENDE...ltDomain_0&hash=item460436a316#ht_3144wt_1163 and two anker 1900mahs.
That's the Mugen cover. It's definitely not close at all in quality compared to the oem htc unit, but for the price, it's good enough, and I'm not going to worry about scratching it up without a case for it.
Tape two ankers together and solder together the + and - leads on the batteries and enjoy. Or two xe 1730mah batteries if you prefer oem.
There's quite a bit of extra space between the sim/sdcard and cover. Maybe you could rig something up in there like a powermat induction charger piece. Or stash your emergency cash in there (although if you get mugged, your phone's gone, so you better stick to the bottom of your sole in your shoes still).

If he's gonna solder battery leads together, he'd better do it quick. I wouldn't want to apply 800 degrees F heat to a battery for any longer than I absolutely need to.

Mugen made a pretty big one, but it requires you to change the back cover: http://www.mugen-power-batteries.co...ery-for-htc-sensation-with-battery-door.html#

Mugen Power Extended batteries!!!

Hey guys i found today these batteries and watched the review of them by droiddog
http://www.droiddog.com/android-blog/2010/05/nexus-one-extended-battery-reviewgiveaway/
and i am very interested in buying one of these. i am currently getting 1-2 days of medium use and i day of full use with my desire and i am excited with more life. Actually the 1600mha seems nice addition without any bulk added (if it adds 5-10 hours) but the 3200mha is VERY usefull for trips or journeys without charger.
Did any of you tried these batteries ???? i heard that seido are not good but since droiddog recommended them i am into this A LOT.
Here are links to their pages:
Mugen Power 3200mah
Mugen Power 1600mah
i doubt anyone has tried the 3200mah in the desire as the battery cover will not fit
I had a Mugen extended battery for my Hero. IIRC it was 200mAh higher capacity than the original battery, so I expected around 10% to 15% better life from it. In practice though, it actually seemed marginally worse than the original HTC battery and certainly no better.
I've since found this site, and it very much mirrors my experience with Mugen batteries.
Regards,
Dave
Hmm, is there no other batteries to use to extend?

if you saw the video they provide a cover that fits with the battery. and i thought that since the reviewer actually tells it DOES make difference i found it an opportunity.,
my bad, i looked at the droiddog link and and not the mugen ones...
i saw "nexus one" and assumed you had linked to the same battery, sorry
Does seem like a good idea to me, review was nice, and i agree with the guy, having that back on would make it feel better in your hand.
But theyl never do a case like the back for the desire will they?
As the n1 bottom bit on the back isnt removable so it makes it easier, where is desire they would have to do a whole new back plate.

These batteries are not scam. I don't know where you get this guys?
I use the one for Desire, they've been reviewed in many places already and this guy from batteryboss is ridiculous in his testing cuz he got those batteries from ebay and thinks it's really Mugen Power. Mugen comes from Hongkong and has only one good reseller. Many batteries like other accessories are scam, so you just need to know where to order them.
I don't know about the 1600 one, but I've owned the Mugen 3200 for over a month now, and it has literally doubled my battery life.
You quickly get used to the extra bulge and weight, and it becomes a non-issue.
I ordered this one:
http://www.mugen-power-batteries.com/catalog/product/view/id/605/
using mugen 3200 since 2 months, almost doubled battery life...
usually unplug phone around 8, i arrive at midnight with around 60% using facebook, bluetooth, music, market, gps, some calls and sms, google reader and browser... data connection always on, wi-fi sometimes...
the only regret is not having a rubber protection case, just the plastic one they give you with battery and backcover...
Just buy a rubber case and cut it to fit the bigger back.
Btw the mugen is good but the back cover is abit fragile. Open and close it too much and the tabs WILL break. Mines currently stuck on with a bit of blutak

Still say's under development, but man the thing is fugly IMHO. I am defiantly going to get one from ebay, and why only 3000 mah.

From what I've seen, Seidio's "3000 mAH" probably has more real capacity than the eBay "3500 mAH" batteries. Seidio's ratings are a little more conservative than most.
The problem is that the battery life you and I will see is determined by both capacity AND the battery's ability to deal with high loads. A lithium battery can supply more total milliamperes for more hours if you're drawing a tiny load than if you're sucking down power like there's no tomorrow. Two batteries that seem to allow you to draw "3500mAH" when you're drawing 1mA might appear to be very, very different when you jack the load up to 100mA, and one that's nominally smaller might actually last 10-25% longer than the larger battery at the higher load.
Right now, there really isn't any good, objective, tamper-proof and relevant standard for rating batteries. It's kind of like the way cheap amplifiers get rated as "PMPO", and expensive amplifiers get rated as "RMS, at X% THD". Even a single-chip amp can probably output 500 watts of power for a millisecond at 100% THD before the chip melts, but an amp that can output 500 watts at .1% THD all afternoon is going to cost quite a bit more money. What's missing from the battery industry spec is the "load" part of the equation that tells you how much current was being drawn when that rating was determined.
Oh, also... I might be imagining things, but it looks like they might have actually liked my idea of making the top layer of the battery overflow the stock battery's footprint to squeeze in a bit more battery capacity in the same thickness
on sale now... 69.99
This will make the phone .86" thick, compared to the stock .55". I had the sedio 3500mah on my incredible which made it .7" thick and that wasn't a problem. I'd love to see some feedback on just how huge a .86" phone feels in your pocket, the picture makes it look gigantic.
Can't testify to any actual dimensions, but I do know that I saw a guy with a Seidio battery on his EVO and to me, it actually felt better with the extra size and weight from the battery. It didn't make his EVO seem extra bulky or anything like that, and I think that should be the case with this battery for the Epic.
I want to get this battery, but 2 major things are stopping me:
1. The price is $70. Hrm...between the cheaper extended battery options and the cheaper spare batteries, it's hard to justify $70 for the Seidio battery, especially if the other cheaper batteries seem to last long enough.
2. There's no case for the back - this is the more important reason for me...I can get over the cost of the battery if it's worth it, but how do you protect the back of this thing? And if I leave the top half of my case on, then my phone will look extra ugly and ghetto. They need to make a case and/or more rugged battery cover for those of us that don't want to carry our phones fully or half naked.
IMO a real man lets his phone go naked.
Seriously, I've never used a case for any smartphone. Never had a problem either. But I do carry TEP on every device.

To address your issues:
1) The price is $56 with 20% off coupon code "XMAS20" (without the quotes). I think that's very reasonable, especially when you consider the stock battery with charger is $50 from Sprint.
2) Seidio always end up making cases for their extended battery backs. The back to this unit is best looking one I've seen out of the extended batteries thus far, and give it a month or so and I'm sure there'll be a case you can purchase as well. I personally prefer leaving my phone naked
...yes, I did just order one. $56 well spent, I say - but we'll leave the final decision for when I actually get it and put it through proper use.
Please test the battery to figure out the real world mAh from the battery. I am very interested. If its anything like other Seido extended batteries, I expect it to be around 2450 mAh in reality.
Any input?

Well you've sold me...if they come out with a decently priced battery+case combo, then I'll definitely go for the Seidio option. As far as I see, none of the other extended batteries have any case options.

I just ordered the extended battery and the separate battery charger. Thanks for the Coupon Code. As far as Seidio making cases for their extended battery backs, I've found this isn't the case at all. I bought the extended battery for the Treo 800w and also the HTC Hero and they never came out with an Innocase or anything else, for that matter, for either, although they said they would.
Another option that I've used for the Seidio extended battery is www.mobilecity.com. They had the Hero battery for $20 less than Seidioonline. Right now they list the Epic battery for $59, but the Coupon Code beats that price right now. As of today they don't have it in stock yet. http://www.mobilecityonline.com/wireless/store/productdetail.asp?productid=26868
Just add a kickstand and im sold!
Does anyone have the Seidio extended battery? If so could someone post pictures of the thickness? I'm interested in the seidio battery because i don't like just having 1 hump on the battery case like the 2800 extended battery available on ebay. Plus seidio is known to have awesome extended batteries. If the phone is given a horrible thickness i'd totally buy it. Anyone with the 2800 have a hard time texting or using the game gripper for playing roms? Is it comfortable?

Going off a rough measurement its barely thicker then an Epic with a Seidio Innocase on (about the thickness of a quarter).

I have the 2800 one. It is fine for texting. It definitely adds to the weight of the phone. I don't have the game gripper, but I can still play the racing games just fine. Well, I haven't gotten very far in the game, but I chalk that up to my poor gaming skills to begin with.
Are there any facts that show the cheaper 2800-3000 batteries on ebay are not as good seidio's batteries??? I don't wan to buy something cheap that doesn't last very long.
There is not that I know of. Seido might last a few more charge cycles, but the 3500 mAh battery that I bought and tested here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=864638
is the same thickness, has a true mAh rating around 2800-2900 mAh and works perfectly well with the game gripper. You can also buy these batteries for 12 dollars shipped, so even with the Seido coupon you could have 5 of the 3500 mAh batteries for the same price. And the Seido battery isn't going to have 5 times the cycles than the 3500 mAh ones.
Also, this Seido battery will have a real life rating of around 2400 mAh, if its anything like previous Seido extended batteries.

Based off cosmetics do you think it would be more comfortable having the entire case thicker like the seidio battery case? or is the 3500 mah comfortable enough? Also does it feel odd in your pocket? This is a hard decision for me. Maybe its just me but I like buying the good brand because of the name but the cosmetics of the seidio just look nicer to me than the one you have. This is a tough decision. I understand the battery life but now its all up to looks and feel. hmm.

[Q] Which Battery would you choose?

1500mAh Battery for HTC Desire Z Vision T-Mobile G2
Or
Designer's 3.7V 3000mAh High Capacity Battery Pack with Back Cover for T-Mobile G2
Would the cover even fit? Would love to have a 3000mah battery but I dunno if it would work?
What's your thoughts?
TIA
The oversized battery do work better fairly well and the cover fits. If you can accept the physical look then for your money it's probably a good deal.
As far as perfect fit, try the Mugen 1800 or Seidio 1700.
I bought the 3500mAh version and I'm quite satisfied. Even thouugh the back cover is huge and cannot get a case to cover the other parts of the back unless you modify it. If you want your phone to last longer, 2 or more days with moderate usage get the 3500mAH version. But if you want looks go for the 1500mAh or the Chi Chi 1800mAH, it'll fit in with the OEM back door after you sand it down.
I have this one.
http://www.mugen-power-batteries.co...nded-battery-for-htc-desirez-t-mobile-g2.html
Much better than the stock or any stock sized replacement battery you can find period.
Mugen has the best stuff. Their battery door covers are also tops for fitment. If you want a big extended battery go for their 3600mah version
http://www.mugen-power-batteries.co...c-desire-z-t-mobile-g2-with-battery-door.html
The one you found is much cheaper ofcourse, but if you want your G2 to last as long as possible, i don't think you can beat Mugen, just read their reviews on their hundreds of other batteries as well. The 3600mah version for the G2 should last in excess of 3 days with light-moderate use

[Q] Best replacement battery?

Bought a used Relay off eBay and the battery life is pretty meh, either because it's the original one and is run down or a knockoff. (It's an 1800 mAh.)
I'm running CM 10.2 and minimal background apps. Mobile data is off 95% of the time (I turn it on/off only as needed), and the same for wifi. It only charges up to about 85% and I can't even get 10 hrs off that.
I'm not looking for an extended battery, just one that will last longer than this one! There are so many "OEM" ones on eBay/Amazon that it's hard to find a legit Samsung battery (if they even make this one anymore). Any suggestions on where to look or brands of some aftermarket ones that won't catch on fire?
Thanks all-
-KC
http://www.ebay.com/itm/PolarCell-A...-S4-mini-LTE-GT-i9195-EB-B500BE-/370946250005
I'm using that battery. I think u have to shave down the battery plastic near where the connectors are, but other than that it fits in the phone.
Oh and I also wedged a small piece of foam on the right side (maybe 2mm thick) just to keep the battery snug. Else it is loose and will lose connection with the power terminal if u slam the slider shut.
Yeah, I'm using that same PolarCell battery in my wife's phone, and did the same cut+foam. We've been through a couple cheapo "extended capacity" batteries, but the PolarCell one fits w/o having to mess with the case, and gives a good runtime (better than her original battery did when new).
There's a thread in the Accessories forum (I think) about different batteries, which is where I saw this one mentioned. You might dig through there for more history.

3100 or 3200 3rd party battery with no added bulk?

I'm noticing that the ring around the volume button is pretty much flush with the back cover. However, the battery is like 5mm thinner than that ring. Could that be another potential 100mah?
Tl;dr: the battery could be slightly thicker than it is, and still fit under the stock cover.
Sent from my LG-H900 using Tapatalk
No one's ever done a slightly thicker replacement battery for any phone unfortunately. Only double thickness or Zerolemon's TriCell.
Mugen makes a 3100mAh battery for the G3 and G4, however, they are not cheap. It is very likely they will also make one for the V10
recommend the original LG OEM battery to ensure better battery life.
Yeah, most "3000" batteries are less then average quality. So best bet is original battery unless you want to get a thick battery.
I'm using mpj 6000mah for my G3 and while being huge and heavy, it performs great.
Though I start to consider powerbanks instead of extra batteries. 6000-10000Mah powerbanks aren't really much bigger then regular batteries so it's more or less the same on "carry-aspect".
Yes, replacing a battery is the quickest way to load back to 100% but powerbanks have much wider functionality and it's much easier to charge them once they dry out.
Why would you guys prefer an extra battery over a powerbank?

I would normally prefer an extra battery over a power bank since it's easier to fit in my pocket. Also, I'd rather not wait around for my phone to charge. That's about it.
