Hi!
I`m new at this... And that`s why I don`t realy know what and why I have to do it... And that`s why I`m asking for your help.
First of all from the fastboot screen I get this:
SAPPHIRE PVT 32A ENG S-OFF H
HBOOT- 1.33.2010 (SAPP1000)
CPLD-12
RADIO-3.22.20.17
Jun 2 2009,17:17:27:03
I rooted my phone after reading this link from theunlockr " Root the HTC Magic in One Click! "
And then I got a new ROM on my phone- MyHero-2.0.4.
OK. It`s a bit slow... And I would like to get something faster.
Could some one give me exact instructions what I have to do, to get one of the Eclair ROMs.
It would be great ir you could write down step by step- what I have to do first, than that and that...
Links to right posts would be great to!
Sorry, for my Ensglish...
do you prefer a sense UI (hero rom) or just a fast but ordinary android theme?
Hero!
I could not wait and got this one by my selfe...
And it looks it worked... I got CursorSense32A-1.2.6.1.
Man it`s fast..

I'm a long time cyanogenmod user (cos it's fast and stable, and I didn't have the balls to flash a new radio/spl to flash the cursorsense ROM). Last night I felt ballsy and suicidal, so I decided to flash a new spl/radio for my magic, then i flashed cursorsense. It's the 1st hero ROM I flashed that can actually be used long term, and daily. So if you're looking for stability and speed, I personally wouldn't recommend the open/super eclair 2.1 ROMs. I tried them last night, they were somewhat buggy, and slow, even with the normal launcher. I think that bugginess is one of the reasons why cyanogen is still on android 1.6. Just my 2 cents.
Here is the question, that many people interested (i think so):
how to install last OTA update from HTC (not to flash dev ROM) on Revolutionary S-offed Desire S?
From different threads i read, that there is 2 ways:
1. Change HBOOT to 0.98.2002 (but it needs to wipe all the data?) and run update.
2. S-on device (what is the best way to do it?) and run update.
For example, my device conf.:
Stock ROM
Android ver. 2.3.3
Software # 1.47.401.4
Bootloader:6.98.1002

You really should search before asking questions. This thread was in the first 10 in this section, yet you started another one. (works for revolutionary too)
Also, post all questions in general or q&a section.

need some other ideas
Hi guys. Had this idea for a while. There are a lot of people joining xda on daily basis, and there are a lot of repetitive questions being asked which fill up Development threads. Point them here.
First thing first. I strongly advise you to read THIS thread before posting ANYTHING on XDA.
Then, have a quick look at the links at the bottom of this post. You might find what you need right away.
Third. Even if you do get your question answered, please, do come back and read the links in this post to educate yourself. You'll be surprised how much time and frustration it will save you in the future.
ASK ANY QUESTION HERE,adb, drivers, superCID etc...... You will either get an answer or will get pointed in the right direction.
No abuse towards noobs or silly questions is tolerated here!

There is no way you can FAQ everything and to keep FAQ up to date is pain in the ass. Treat this thread as a chat.
Why wouldn't you SuperCID?
I put a question in the firmware/partition thread yesterday, still no answer so I'll kick off by asking it again.
I see a lot of people getting trouble with their CID when installing firmware, and the firmware package is constantly updated with new CID's, however it seems prudent to become SuperCID anyway.
Is there a reason for not wanting SuperCID? From my understanding it's just a "label" in the phone, so it doesn't affect signal strength / how good your radio works etc. So it seems weird to want to avoid SuperCID. Am I right?
The only reason I can think of is in case of warranty returns or so. But why are so many (with a working device) trying to install firmware with their original CID then?
I hope someone understands my question.

Thanks for offering to help. I am seeing a trend here that questions are simply ignored. I am a beginner in this 'root' thing. Though I successfully rooted my previous phone HTC Desire.
I had asked a query in the following thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1436663 but nobody has answered it.
I will be obliged if you could kindly answer my question. TIA!

Yes you are right, If you want to go back to S-on sometime (which you'll only want in case of warranty returns), you'll need official firmware/hboot. However, S-on is a dangerous process, people have bricked their devices doing it.
The official firmware from that thread can be used for other purposes as well (If you're phone works better, you can switch to stock ROM/firmware and leave it S-off), but if you're not having troubles, I see no need to do that.
Also, you can make a NANDroid backup of your phone after you have rooted/S-off/CWM, so switching to Stock ROM won't be a problem.
For now, I wholeheartedly recommend Custom ROMs with the appropriate firmware.

No good reason not to superCID. Its just as easy to return to your previous cid.

S-on goes wrong if you do it on rooted phone only by the looks of it. Although, any of this nodding businessis potentially dangerous, all you can do is to learn as much as you can to minimise possibility of a brick.

From here:

And usually if you use an earlier RUU it will prompt you eventually for an OTA that will get up back to where you belong.

Do you mean can you replace the launcher with something that is different/more compact?
You can always try a different desktop launcher like Go Launcher or ADW but you will lose your ability to use Sense widgets. I don't know of anyone that has modified Sense Launcher to allow folders.
I don't want other launchers - sense stock is good, but I need something other for all programs menu - actually i've found AppFolders.
I just want to remap action on left button to app folder, for example. Is it possible in sense?

It is completely possible as the EVO people have done it as so:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1148978
But I don't see that option in the mod forums for us. I would even ask tommytomatoe how to do it for the Sensation.

Cyanogen updates are like Fight Club.
Rule number 1. You don't talk about Cyanogen updates.
Rule number 2. You don't talk about Cyanogen updates.
That aside.....CM9 is being worked on. That's the only update there is. It'll get here when it gets here. (And yeah...I'm drooling with anticipation too and it drives me bonkers that I have no idea when we'll get to see it But that's the way Cyanogen rolls.)
Hi forum, I have some problems with my HTC ONE S :
after I rooted my device I have istalled cyanogen mod nighty (last week) , after a few day the device rebooting after 5 minutes
actually I have TWRP , tried to put two rom : VIPER and last CM nighty.. but they stop working in boot screen animation!!

Yes Q&A should be good. It's just that the developer section is strictly for threads sharing ROMs, Kernels, guides, radios, and some mods.
Don't worry though. A moderator should move this thread there for you in a little bit. No sweat.
