[Q] Screen stopped working? - HTC Sensation

So I bought my Sensation on Ebay 2 weeks ago, and I just got a Skinomi screen protector in the mail today. After applying it, I went ahead and left it off for about 30 minutes. Then I turned it on, and everything was working fine, however, after about 10 minutes, the screen started flickering, and acting strange, and then it promptly blanked out. I pulled the battery and put it back and attempted to boot again. Then, the HTC logo flashed for a second, and then the screen flickered off again. After one more try, I got the same result.
Any help for fixing this? I'm not familiar with repairing at all, so if anyone could point me in the right direction as what to do, or a digitizer that is known to work, I would greatly appreciate it.

my screen goes crazy

OK so the story starts about 3 weeks ago when I got my tf300 in the mail. Because I am a clumsy idiot I ended up dropping It. I checked it out but it serener fine, but about an hour later I took it outside to sit on my porch(where it happened to be humid) and the screen went crazy. My friend who also has a tf300 managed to turn on the touch indicator and we saw that the screen thouht it was getting touched when it wasnt. So long story short i emailed amazon and theywere like here is a new one no probs. Get the new one in the mail and everything is fine, however a few days later my screen went a little crazy again.not as bad as the first time but still noticeable. So i turned the touch indicator on again and it sometimes brokeout in white dots in small areas and not the whole screen like when I dropped it. Anyone's know what's wrong? I can sometimes get it to stop and clean the screen, I also put a screen protector on and that helped. And before you ask no i didnt drop it or hit it or anything like that and I know about4 other proletariat with tf300s and they don't have these problems.

Mine did that, or used to until the .30 firmware update. I'm on jb now, still no issue, but when it was doing it, I found that tapping the power button to put it to sleep, then tapping again to wake it seemed to calm that anonymous touch issue.

I had the same problem with one I bought from Best Buy - took it out of the box and turned it on, and squeezing the top bezel caused the screen to go nuts and reboot the device. I just took it back and got another - it definitely looked like a manufacturing problem to me.

[Q] My display seems to fail randomly, even after changing LCD. What could it be?

So here's my issue. Yesterday, my phone started to give me a while screen full of dead pixels (pinkish color) randomly. I would turn off the phone, turn it back on and after 2-3 minutes it would crash again. Last year I dropped it and cracked the screen, so to me it was related to that. The phone works fine other than that (music plays when display fails. I did wipe it completely and reinstalled Kit Kat, it solved the issue temporarily but after 30 minutes it started again.
Today I decided to go check out a phone repair shop and ended getting my phone fixed by them. What this consisted of is a replacing the display and plastic frame. I picked up the phone and everything was perfect, new screen and display which looks and feels like new.
Now it's been about 5 hours and the phone started acting strange again. Now it's a lot less worse than before, but I still get the full screen of dead pixels. The display will go on and off (I guess it's trying to reinitialize or something) but always fails. So I end up rebooting the phone for it to work again.
The 2 times it happened after getting the phone fixed it was when I put it in my pocket to go from my work to my car, and then from my car to my home. So I don't know if it has anything to do with being in my pocket, that's why I came here.
So could anyone could shed some light on my issue here? Is my phone already dying? It's only been 13 months and I'd hate to have spent for a new display for basically nothing.
Replace the flex cable. If that doesn't work then it's an issue with the motherboard/screen, in which case you would have to guess between the two, or simply send it to LG and pay for a repair.

Screen randomly turns off but phone still on, backlight often stays on

Hey guys, i'll try to explain the situation as best i can below, hopefully someone can work out what is wrong.
My phone is about 16 months old. About 2 months ago i dropped it twice within the space of a couple weeks. There were a few cracks along the screen, however it wasn't very noticeable and i wasn't going to bother having it fixed. The problem started a couple of weeks ago when i went to grab it out of my pocket, however i found out the screen was black and it wouldn't turn on. I don't really know how to describe it but it was acting very strange...
- The screen would have white/gray bars all over it then turn off, then it would do the same with very thin vertical lines that were white/gray/other colours...
- When i get the screen on, it generally turns off again within 30 seconds, however it can stay on for a few minutes.
- If the screen is on and i press the lock button, it almost certainly won't come back on.
- Restarting the phone or holding the power and volume button nearly always gets the screen to come back on. It often then restarts but turns off again shortly after.
- The phone is otherwise still working when the screen goes off; the notification light stays on and i hear messages etc coming through
- The backlight often stays lit, revealing a gray screen opposed from total black. Sometimes it does not stay lit however.
- When the screen came on it was often unresponsive to touch
I had the screen replaced yesterday by a phone repair shop and the phone is still not right. I have factory reset the phone and also wiped the partition cache. Other than that it is still not working. IT seems to be working better... The screen always seems responsive to touch when it is on, and it doesn't seem to be turning off as often. It generally starts up and works fine when i start up by holding the power button and down volume button together... However even still it sometimes just flashes up with a few thick white/gray and black lines on the screen..
Does anyone know what can be causing this and how i can resolve it? If you need any more information please let me know and i will try provide it. I could try get some pictures of what the screen is doing when i finish work. Thanks guys, i appreciate any input.
EDIT: I managed to get a pic of what i mean by the thin vertical lines all over the screen. This just appeared when i tried to restart the phone after it the screen had once again stopped working. The imgur link is gIFMGD6
Anyone have any ideas?
Hey, did you ever figure this problem out? My phone just started doing the same thing. Can't find much info about it.

Yeah, i had the screen fixed hoping it would fix it, however that didn't work. Turns out it was the motherboard, don't know what was wrong with it in particular other than it was simply going faulty. Had someone replace the motherboard on it for $50 and have had zero problems since! Hope that helps you.
Thanks for the response. I tried replacing the screen too with no luck. Unfortunately the same place that replaced the screen said it would cost $400 to replace the motherboard!!! The phone cost less than that so it looks like I'm gonna buy a new one.

[Q] curious boot trouble after screen replacement

Hey All,
I posted this over on r/nexus5 as well, but figured id see if anyone here had any ideas as well.
I replaced my screen/frame earlier today and started having some trouble, figured I'd see if anyone else has had a similar experience and can give some advice.
I replaced my screen about a year ago, and all was well until a month ago. Dropped it again and cracked the screen, so I ordered another. Decided to spice things up and get a red frame as well, so this afternoon I took it apart. Tore it all down, and moved all the parts over to the new frame, everything went over nice and easy, and I got it all about together and booted it up. I see the Google logo with the unlock symbol, hangs out for about 15 seconds, and then reboots. Will do this for a bit until I power it down.
I read some other threads with some similar symptoms. A few people suggested the power button was being held down and causing the reboot, but that isnt the case here. I can get into the boot loader/fastboot screen, and can see it over adb. Soemone else suggested it was the long wide noddle cable not properly connected, so I've reseated that about a dozen times with no luck. I have checked all of my connections over a handful of times, but still the same deal.
So since my pc can see it in fastboot, I ran the nexus toolkit and did the force flash. Files transferred over and were written successfully, and as far as NRTK was concerned, it all went well. so it tells me the phone to reboot, and of course its the same 15seconds of google logo, rinse/repeat.
So I am thinking maybe my motherboard got damaged somehow during the transition? I just cant find any signs of damage, and I was pretty careful during the transfer. This was a replacement from China, but I figured since it shows the google logo and boot loader, the screen is indeed working... could it be the screen/digitizer preventing it from fully booting? I think its odd that root toolkit could still see the device, send data to it, and write it successfully.
Any thoughts would be much appreciated.
Actually now that I think about it, I will throw the guts back into the old frame in the morning to confirm if it is the new screen causing the problem or not.
So it turns out it was the chinese knock off screen that was the problem. put the guts back into my old phone, and all was well. Going to return it and get a new screen on the way.

I don't know what's happening to my screen! :(

Hello guys. I had a strange issue with my wife's phone today... and I wanted to know y'all opinion about it before spending money in a new screen.
First of all, we never did any bootloader-unlocking or rooting on it before.
She was returning home with the phone in her backpack (empty, so the phone was not hit or anything). And when she arrived she took the phone and it began to hang and get freeze. Then it restarted itself, and entered in a bootloop. It stayed that way for an hour until finally I got to turn it on. But the touchscreen didnt work anymore (the screen looks perfectly and it has NO scratch, I swear...)
So I tried a factory reset, but the touch still didn't work.
So, what do you guys think? Could be something like software/drivers problem? Did you know any similar issue ever?
I think its very weird, cause before it worked perfectly. And it matches too much with the almost-brick moment...
