Gingerbread Music .apk on ICS? - Nexus S Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Does anyone have a copy of gingerbread music apk that can be installed on ICS because it seems most ICS roms have Apollo as stock music and I really don't like it besides the widget. GB music apk just easier and actually can delete my music just my opinion
If anyone can upload it would really appreciate it .

Older CM9 builds had the old player, Apollo is relatively recent. I think nightlies prior May 22 or so should have the old one.
HOWEVER, I would advise against it for one reason. The old player had RAM leakage issues that could render it nearly unusable after some time.
If you can't find it I can upload it when I'm at home.

You can find a copy of it in the Play Store somewhere

Vanilla Android 2. 2 music widget?

Anyone know where I can get the vanilla Android music widget for Sense? Sorry if this has been asked before but I searched the forums but couldn't find anything.

I think it is included. When you add a widget you should see two music widgets. One is labeled HTC, the other is labeled Android.
If you want the fancy ones from cyanogen mod they come with the custom music app by Eliot Stocker. I'm not sure if it can be installed without root, but if you are rooted you can push it to /system/app.
There are some good market widgets too, like pure music.

I think I know what you talking about but I like the big music widget from the cm6 Rom and damagecontrol 3. 5 Rom. Not the little bar music widget that comes with sense. Lol

If you know roms that have what you're looking for, then why aren't you downloading them and just taking the files from the zip?
Seriously.

Well then, that should tell you something. Either what ur looking for isn't compatible with the rom that you're using, or you just don't know how to push a file.
Both suck. Pick your poison. Have fun.

Got a winner... Search the market for music mod by eliot stocker. It is exactly the same one that is included in cm, and actually a slightly newer version. It will have all of the widgets and should install on any rom, even without root.

HTC music

So I was trying to change the HTC music to the sense 2.0 version and after switching it just force closed every time I opened it. So when I attempted to switch back to the original it also did not work! So if someone could link me to one the will work it would be extremely helpful!! I'm running skyraider 4.0

i'd say you have to restore a nandroid i tried doing soemthing similar replacing the htc_ime and it wouldn;t install the original back so i would just restore a nandroid.
Well isn't it possible just to put it in a .zip and reinstall it? Because I've seen others with the HTC music and the widget worked but the app force closed when I opened it

I would replace the htc music apk, with another. I used the one from the nothing special rom. You can replace it with a file explorer with root access (be sure to change permissions), a zip if you know how or through adb.

I've already tried replacing through root explorer multiple times and the app just doesn't show up at all after that and I know nothing about adb. So I'm honestly really stuck at this point

same thing happened to me. I had to restore a Nan backup. If you are using SR4.0 I recommend trying the Google 3.0 leaked player. Its free, looks way better, plays perfect, the only thing missing from it, compared to stock, is the album art on the lock screen. It does not have lock screen controls BUT since you are using SR4.0 you can add the lock screen option in 4.0 to work with this player. I havent used stock for over a month, and wont go back until SR4.1 with the updated music player included.
You can find the app in the Android Development and Hacking forum here on XDA or just google search it.
But I would love to know why we can't run 2.0!!!! Been trying to get it for a while now.

You can't run sense 2.0 music widget because it is dependent of a sense 2.0 framework which sr4 doesn't have.

Help with T-Mobile music hub

Tomtomyoshi said:
Hey all, thanks for the forum. Quick question. How would one go about getting T-Mobile music hub? I believe, not sure, that it was removed with my rom. I'm using the old cm7 2.3.7 eaglesblood with Trinity kernel and have a g2x. I know this was probably bloatware removed by the rom but is there a way to flash or download it somewhere? I checked market, and if I'm searching for the right thing its not there. I'd like it so I can buy (which is really rare) music from my slacker account. Thanks for all info in advance. -flakkattack

Stock Samsung apps " calendar, music player"

Hey guys newbie here so I apologize for that. Okay I paid someone to root and rom my gs3 with cm10 all is well but my S calendar and music player that came with the phone are gone now. Can those be put back in, if so where should I look? I've been reading as much as I could but couldn't find any information on this.

You might have to be running a touchwiz rom (stock rom) to run those
