i dont have a problem with battery life but like the girl said true LTE phone . let me know when you exceed 4mbps down and 300kbps up

I got a 28.94 down, 35.48 up speed test when I was in Manhattan 2 days ago

I actually would have kept the atrix if i could even get 3g speeds.
I never broke 1.5 MB down...
And I live in Phoenix AZ!!
Oh , it also sucks for coverage - I would drive 10 miles out of city limits and go from 4 bars to NOTHING.
Verizon has a fantastic network - but the Atrix is the best phone i have ever had...

I returned the atrix for the thunderbolt..
I'm a long time verizon customer.. the AT&T network was too hit or miss, the phone had bugs.
it was faster, but I don't have verizon 4g coverage here yet in milwaukee. I'm sure that'll change and I can't wait
battery life, the atrix was better, but it had a 1900mah battery.. the tbolt has 1400 and a much larger screen.. i'm scared to see how it gets when I start beating on 4g... I can barely keep it to sustain a change while on the charger using mobile hot-spot.

The consumer is the only one that loses here

Nah - the upload speed is probably wrong due to the TB's huge upload buffer. It's a known issue that upload speeds aren't going to be correct using the SpeedTest app.
But no buffer in the world can improve download speeds, and I more care about that.

the download speed is borked as well, reads too low.

4Mb/s? You can get that with a standard flip phone. Now 4MB/s is a different story.

Either way, the atrix isnt really 4g, and it has a locked bootloader. Good luck, the tbolt also has more dev support and its only been out for one week today. How bout that? Those are the things that really matter. They are both great phones.

Holy moly

I just got a Captivate about 3 days ago, and WOW I LOVE IT!! My friend/brother got it from his real brother (they traded stuff) and I traded him a 4GB DDR3 stick of ram that you can get on newegg for $20 . I thought this thing wouldn't be able to do up to date gaming and stuff AND I thought that there wouldn't be able to do alot of rooting/installing custom roms etc..... but wow was I wrong. This thing has alot of choices available to it for roms, and I can play games like Real Racing 2 easily . I'm also glad to have an android device period to finally have a portable linux device and a pmp (which is what I wanted an android device for) that supports FLAC. All In All this thing ROCKS! I never thought a phone through at&t even if its made by samsung would be this badass

Agree, though my issues (random shutdowns, bad GPS locks) disappeared after I went with a 2.3 rom.

Like me lol, I just used my GPS to get to a friends house (he recently moved there) and had no issues . Speakers work beautifully and everything else is ever so amazing. I have had boot loops and whatnot... but I'm still fairly rusty/new to installing custom roms. I only have CM7 atm because it was a REALLY easy tutorial to follow on the wiki

Lol. Im on my fourth captivate. Traded 3 in under warranty. 2 for gps(gave up on that), 1 for random shutdowns, and if this one was under warranty, I'd replace it because the speaker goes in and out.
I guess some people are lucky. Or maybe I'm just really unlucky.

I've had mine over a year and the only problem I've had was my speaker quit working but they are only $25 and so I bought a new one. No random shut down, no freezes, nothing.

Yup, captivate is awesome! I've had mine since 2010 and it performs beautifully. I honestly think I could go 1-2 more years with it before getting a new phone. Always took good care of it so I have no issues since I acquired it.

Oh yeah. My contract is up in June. Once a good stable version of ICS is available from the devs, I probably won't go after a new phone for a while and save my upgrade until a quad core phone comes out.

Ya it is amazing , I'm rocking ICS with glitch and I can tell you that its really nice. I don't use my cappy as a phone, kinda dont... I use G.Voice here n there, but likek 99% as a PMP so I don't know how perfect the phone features work, but everything else is amazing. I have this thing OC'd to 1.52GHz and its so amazing!!

mine can go to 1.86GHz haha I rule the cappies!

The only random shut downs on my Captivate have been kernel related, my GPS has always worked as well as any Captivate GPS works (wonky at best, but functional), and I've never had my speaker stop working. As b-eock said, not everyone has the issues some have, you also have to keep in mind that forums attract people with problems - there are many more out there walking around in the world with Captivates in their pockets that work just fine.

Mine's not here yet, but our UPS guy shows up between 11-12 here at the office everyday. I've got th security cam pointed at the front door, waiting on that beautiful brown machine to roll up. I keep thinking i hear the screeching brakes i always hear before it shows up. I just finished a 16oz Monster too, so i'm all jittery.

Seriously, i've never gotten this excited about a phone. I bought the Atrix 2 on launch day in th store, and it was my favorite android phone...but i didn't get this excited about it. I think it's the camera that's doing it for me!

I am so ready to get mine as well unfortunately I gotta wait til tomorrow

And just think.. Some are showing Monday for UPS delivery

So people have all the luck when it comes to getting their toys early. UPS says my phone is still in Dallas Airport. Hate waiting, at least tomorrow it should arrive.

that's what i said. Theres even a sticky copy of it in the box if you have to send it in for service that you attached to the back.
Also, putting my sim card in didnt' work. I'm on a regular 3G data plan now, the new APN is different.

Later then on At&t....lol... But I hope very soon..

I'm hoping within a day or two, but you never know with the Canadian carriers. I'm pretty sure we got 4.3 first though, so I'd imagine that it's ready to go.

hope the update will come soon, at&t has already the update....:highfive:it still indicated soon on roger site. hope it will come in the next two weeks:fingers-crossed:. What I like in kitkat above all is the mail, gmail like, and google now is integrated to the launcher. will see how samsung put it in their touchwiz.

Hope it comes to Fido soon. I'm thinking that if it comes to Rogers, then it should be ready for Fido also.
Even though I'm not using any SIM in it yet lol, wonder how that goes. I tried with Keys3 and it tells me I have the latest version (4.3).
I'm mostly excited for the snappier speed! It is sluggish in some parts in 4.3 and touchwiz really makes it slower than it's supposed to be!

not sure if they will be released at the same time but the last update(4.3) I installed on my Koodo S4 was the same one used for Bell S4.
Anyone remember if they all received the update the same day ?

Last week Samsung offered IPhone users the chance to sign up and use the Note 5 and S6E+ for 30 days for $1. I signed up for the Note 5. I'm interested to know if anyone else here signed up for the promotion, and if so have you received any shipping info. I'm waiting on an email with the shipping info.

Dang that's a long wait. They shouldn't have advertised the 2-day shipping. It's misleading. Idk how Samsung plans on restocking before the new iPhones come out.

I was thinking the same thing. It would have been better if they promoted this at their keynote for the phones. It would have given more people the opportunity to think of switching. That two day shipping was jacked up. I was crazy excited then it turned into the waiting game. Now that I know it's coming I'm back excited.

Funny because I just received a call from Samsung. It'll ship either tonight or tomorrow and I'll recieve it either Saturday or early next week. The rep said that their shipping has been delayed because of the amount of orders. I can rest easy now

The last android device I had was the Samsung Galaxy player. Any suggestions on rooting and if it's possible with the S6 edge plus or note?

I just read on xda they achieved it on the T-Mobile version. So I'm hopefull it will be achieved. These devs are really impressive.

Oh so Different carriers lock them. What can you do with root access?

Early on you could use it to turn your phone into a hotspot without shelling out the extra $20 a month. Right now they already have a fix for that to where you don't have to root in order to take advantage of that. My first thing I always do is to see if I can install this sound mod from this dev Viper. You can truly take control of the equalizer and make your headphones really good.

Ooo. Surprised they don't allow root access. What about changing the UI. Keep hearing that touch wiz is bad.

It use to be terrible. They really cleaned it up every year. To where now it is a pretty decent launcher. I personally prefer Nova Launcher. Especially now that some launchers almost theme the entire system and not just the icons and home screen. With rooting some devs will make custom roms with some pretty awesome features, over locking even run stock android if you want.

I'll have to try out nova launcher when my phones get in. I hope they gave me a good one too.
