Every time an app tries to make the keyboard appear, it force quits (Unfortunately, ___ has stopped). This is stock US Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 - model GT-P3113TS.
I've restarted and it keeps occurring, and have confirmed it is the keyboard (Chrome/Play Store work fine until input is required). I've tried with both the Samsung keyboard and Google's Japanese Input (the two keyboards I have installed at the moment) and no changes.
Thanks in advance!
i had the same problem before, so i had to rest to factory and wipe from the recovery mode and lost all my data... all!! recovery mode is long press on Powerbutton+low valume button
I have had a similar problem when my clipboard was corrupt. The solution was to remove /data/clipboard.

how do i delete the clipboard data? i dont wanna have to reset to factory setting....
Are you rooted? If so just use root explorer to delete all in /data/clipboard. Might work from adb too.

thanks! i'll look into it. Got any alternatives to access root data?

Did you delete the folder or the contents of the folder?
From my post at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1655619
(From a shell or adb shell)
su
mv /data/clipboard /data/oldclipboard
mkdir /data/clipboard
chmod 775 /data/clipboard
chown system.system /data/clipboard
reboot
my bad... its actually fixed now.
turns out i needed to reset the tablet after deleting the contents in order for it to take effect.
i thank my tablet for running out of batteries.. and of course to wd5gnr : )
Woot! Glad it worked

I am stuck with a rather odd issue as of late..I did a full wipe and re-install of Bumble Bee 2.4 on my Virgin Mobile Optimus V phone about 4 weeks ago.
In a summery when I download a new app i back it up using Titanium Backup immediately after the installation is finished. Then I move the app to my SD card. Sadly anytime I want to update that app through the Android Market Place or even the Amazon app store, BumbleBee will crash and restart during installation.
I tried a few things on my own. Such as moving the apps to internal storage and updating then but the crashes still happen. I even uninstalled a app and tried to download it from the market place but the phone would still crash and restart upon installation.
I did some looking around and the only thing close to my problem I could find was this.
So the issue was with the full-wipe install, but the problem wasn't what I thought it was last night. The install puts the google apps to /data/app creating that directory if /data was completely gone, however the full-wipe install did not set permissions for the new /data/app directory, which meant the Market couldn't install to it and generally freaked out. One reason this didn't show up for me was because there was a second problem in the full-wipe install -- it didn't format the data partition correctly either (!), so /data/app (sometimes) already existed with the proper permissions. And that's why the bug didn't show for everyone.
You can test (and fix) this yourself by booting into recovery, mounting /data, and then doing "adb shell chown -R 1000.1000 /data/app", "adb shell chmod 771 /data/app", and "adb shell chmod -R 644 /data/app". Reboot and Market installs work.

I use the xionia recovery. Can I emulate his steps with it?
I don't mean to double post of have a shameless thread bump but I am willing to try any ideas someone may have. I been googling all around trying to find more on "adb shell chown" ect but I am having some difficulties.
Bump
Bumping this thread. I'm having the exact same problem. Anyone find a resolution?
Thanks!
shameless re-bump
I couldn't find a solution that worked for me to solve this.
The bumblebee rom is great, but I switched to the Inferior Human Organs CM7 rom and all is well. I had some lock screen freezes, but I disabled ADW rotation and that seemed to fix it.
OK, Here is what I have: I have a Samusung admire, Metro Pcs. New just rooted today.
I was removing all the metro crap (using titanium) when I deleted the MMS being I wasent using it, I use the go sms pro.
Well to come to find out you kinda need the mms that was installed on the phone, so now im trying to get it back on there...
Here is my issue I am having:
I go to system, apps and I see the MMS there, when when I try and install it, it says not installed. so I extrated files and tryed it again, same thing, of course Im not sure if Im doing this right. By the way I do open the superpermission on it.
What am I doing wrong, can anyone please give me advice on how to install this?
If you didn't make a Titanium backup of your stuff before you started removing things, you're out of luck my friend and it's factory reset time for you
If you ever have doubts about removing things using a program like Titanium, pick the 'freeze' option instead of the 'delete' option. This will halt the process and stop it running in the background and consuming memory, but you can 'unfreeze' and restore it to normal should freezing cause issues.
No such luck with deletion, of course
Let me know how you get on. Good luck!
Try asking someonee to upload the mms apk

That's weird. I've deleted the stock MMS.apk tons of times without a single problem
Do adb push
adb push MMS.apk system/app
After this set permissions to chmod 644 reboot and your good to go

Recently rooted Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1. As of now I'm running Cyanogen Mod 10. Before that I was using Cyanogen Mod 9.0. However I've experienced the same issue with both roms. My favorite apps wouldnt open. However Google play store works so I figured its not my gapps.
1) Spotify- just shows a blank screen nothing else.
2) Evernote- not able to create the database file and tells me to restart the device and make sure my memory card isn't full.
3). Lecture Note- App needs a directory at the media/shared/external storage (SD card) to store the notebook.
So just by searching the forum and not seeing much on the topic, I figured I missed something in the process.
I don't use titanium backup and neither am I familiar with it. But if I have to learn then please tell me so.
I've always wiped before flashing roms.
I know CM 10 is a nightly and all that jive but I really like it. But without apps working then it is useless for me.
Oh and not sure if this is related but every download from a hyperlink on a web page results in a download unsuccessful.

May be try to reflash rom again latest nightly for your specific device + flash gapps jellybean not ics + full wipe after flashing those (wipe cash+wipe dalvik cash in advanced options)
If not working so try wipe data of apps you want in setting
If not so send messages to developers may be their apps not compatible with jellybean need update

Netflix
My device P5113 4.04 stock
I rooted using this : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1657056 but now netflix will load up, and I go to play a video and load forever then i get error 11003(note netflix works fine on my phone/ps3).
Does any body know a fix for this?
The original reason i rooted was to attempt to move the notification bar to the top (i hate it at the bottom b/c I constantly hit buttons). So i tried to do this:
http://rootzwiki.com/topic/18063-move-the-status-bar/
(1) download ES File Explorer
(2) go to settings and activate root explorer and mount r/w
(3) navigate to /system/
(4) click on build.prop and select "ES Note Editor"
(5) look for the line item called "ro.sf.lcd_density=160"
(6) edit it to read "ro.sf.lcd_density=161"
(7) exit and save the file
(8) reboot

Click to collapse
and I broke android(would not boot, go only a black screen) b/c i added this to the file, because i didn't find it, so i had to reinstall.
So my other question is is there anyway to move the status/notification bar to the top? Im about to go back to stock but, i will root again if i can fix netflix.
I posted this in the Nexus 7 section, but this can apply to all AOKP based ROMs that have the "Permissions Manager" option.
Running SmoothROM with 4.2.2 (I think) and I was messing with the "Permissions Manager" settings under "Settings". I turned off several permissions on Facebook, such as SMS view/sender and location on it as well on some other apps. I then rebooted the tablet and now I'm stuck on a boot loop. I don't get how because these aren't system apps, so I don't think it should affect the system booting up at all. Sadly I didn't make a nandroid backup before doing this, since I thought the worse that could happen would be the apps force closing which is easily fixed. Since I didn't make a backup I rather try things that wouldn't make me lose any data.
I can get into recovery (TWRP) and have already made a backup of the current boot looping state. I have already tried deleting cache and dalvik-cache and still won't boot.
I have an idea: Turning the "Permission Management" setting to "Off" would make the apps have their default permissions. I would have to get into /data/data/com.Android.Settings and find the "Permissions Management" setting and set it to "false" or "off" through ADB. So I would have to pull the file and push the edited file back through fast boot or recovery. Anyone think this would work??
FWIW: I updated the kernel (Franco) with his franco.Kernel app 1 reboot ago, but it rebooted fine, not sure if it could be the kernel that has me in this bootloop?

Thanks for the reply.
I'm not talking about .apk or file permissions. I'm talking about permissions apps request, such as location, internet access, billing, reading contacts, etc. That's something the "Fix permissions" option in recovery mode has nothing to do with.

Im sorry but it sounds like if this issue cant be resolved you might need to reset youre phone but try to go into recovery mode and mess around and see if you can find anything that has to do with booting, good luck and ohh one more thing if all else fails in recovery mode try and find the wipe cache partition option and proceed to that ^.^ :good::good::good:
If you have the backup file you can try to reflash the rom

Not sure if this has been issue before with other phones but this is the first time for me.
Already have my phone bootloader unlocked and rooted with magisk. I use Titanium Backup to uninstall/delete Chrome app and Google Keep. When I restart the phone, those apps show right back up again. Any idea on how to permanently delete them? I have them currently frozen so they don't show up on my launcher/drawer.
So have since discovered that due to the way Android 9 is programmed, system folder is mounted as read only. Even tho it says the app is uninstalled, next reboot the app shows right back up. Will settle for freezing the apps I don't need or use.
Now I just have to figure out why the storage keeps getting unmounted...

From terminal emulator or adb get # permission and run "mount -o rw,remount /"

Is this a permanent solution or will it cause more issues? Even if only to mount the system rewritable, uninstall apps then remount system as read only?
Currently solved my storage issue, I have some of the system apps frozen for now so they don't show up.

The only solution since system is never mounted as rw. In certain builds, like userdebug, adb can obtain root and you can simply do adb remount. But system is now mounted as root or "/" and not "/system" anymore. If you needed access to /vendor in an app, say a file manager, the same command will work just use /vendor.
