my work on my hd2 is almost done
still trying to change the htc bar icons (no suc6 yet)
and i want a setting changed in the phone
when in the phone menu, selct contacts tehn in the bottom bar the 3th from the left is groups
i use qiute a few groups
when i selct a group
the default setting is group message and mail
i want this to open the contacts in the group by default
is this possible ???????
and second the default vieuw of contacts is lastname / first name , i like this the otherway around
how to do this ?????

I am trying to figure out how to change the icons for phone, messages, twitter, and browser into words. How would I go about doing this? I'm sure it's possible, I'm just new to android.

There is an app in the marketplace called NinjaMorph that will do it from the phone. Alternatively, you'd have to pull a copy of the app from your phone to your PC, replace the icon, and push it back to your phone via adb.
NinjaMorph is the best approach, however, I've encountered instances/apps where NinjaMorph just doesn't work. For those I went with the second option above.
On top of that you would need to create your own "word" icons in a editing program assuming you haven't already found an icon pack.
FolderOrganizer is what you're looking for. It will place instances of itself in the shortcuts menu and from there you can rename, change icons, etc., etc. I currently have over 20,000 png icons that I have collected for ObjectDock and all I do is resize the ones I want to 48x48 and copy them over to a directory I call Iconz on the SD card and I can use them whenever I go to change an icon.

Just to clarify... I also use Folder Organizer, but that doesn't change the default icon for the app, just the ones that show on the home screen.
If that's all you need, then Folder Organizer is great, but I came to this thread looking for a way to change the default app icons so I just wanted to clarify that point about Folder Organizer.

i nstalled 1.8.5.1 and chteditor same version it was ok but now when i pust one of the contact bottom icon it not respond but the programes icons ok.
can same on help me pleas ?

you need to be more clear
on home screen i have an icons that representing programs and photos of contcts tel' nombers, when i push one of the programs icon it open the program but when i wont to make a phone call i push one of contact photo icon it is not dilling so i mast go to phone dailer to make a call, hope it was clear.

Hi. pls help me. I change my theme to windows default, u know, without touchflow. and is there any way to create my own icon? i mean i dont want to see the user guide, calendar, email etc on the home screen.

im running aokp for d4. and i have a dialer theme "annonomous" from the "root box" rom...well it worked out great but only problem is when u go to dial. as u are dialing the contacts name pops up, but its grey and the theme is grey. making it impossible to read the contact..how can i change the font to ics blue or if any one can for me?
i sent the "phone.apk" to another member but he said he wont re wright a unsigned zip or somthing...
You will need to edit the contacts apk to change the color.
