Does anyone know why this particular live wallpaper makes the phone more sluggish than others? It's my favorite one but if you notice.. the performance of the phone gets a bit more sluggish. Kind of noticeable. Is there a way to fix this? Or is Google going to have to fix this in a future update?

Could I ask what you are running in the background because the microbes live wallpaper is the best one for performance.

Really? Even when I kill all tasks it still runs the same. I'm not saying it's major lag going on that it's unbearable. But you can see when something like a window pops up or the app drawer comes up it doesn't look at smooth as it should be. When I use the Nexus S Live Wallpaper it runs a lot smoother for me.
Yeah the microbes wallpaper also does this on my nexus s. The app drawer doesn't scroll as smooth.
I've noticed this also.

My nexus doesn't have a problem. All the live wallpapers run at 18mb for every wallpaper including the microbs and nexus.
Does anyone know how to manually reinstall Microbes?
The custom ROM I'm using (OpenSoju) doesn't include Microbes, and I'm not entirely sure how to reinstall it back.
I tried flashing a 230kb Microbes.zip via Clockwork, but didn't work particularly well
Guys im having trouble with a major lag during the screens when on Live wallpaper on my Infuse any help please?
Oh yea on every Rom and stock too the only one that doesn't is grass

so i guess there isnt fix to it..no??
Im have the captain America one and its fine i get to hit the shield and it all works fine. no lag for me
I have no problems with any of the live wallpapers I've installed (shadow galaxy, beautiful widget weather, nexus honeycomb, I-O hyperspace, Matrix, Asus Water, swirling Galaxy, thunderstorm and a few others as well as the stock). Tey all run very smooth. But I do notice some occasional lag when swiping between screens or with window/app launching animations- i.e some stuttering as an app window maximizes up, when there is a live wallpaper running. I feel like this is more pronounced after the most recent OTA update so I'm wondering if some of the new scrollable widgets are putting strain on the system too.
One thing you can check is whether the particular wallpaper you'e using has a setting to turn up or down the cpu usage. Might help.
Everything opens up instantly now...it's faster than my buddies g2x.
I'm sure most of you already know that animations and eye candy are what slow this phone down. Using launcherpro makes it faster (blocking most of the sense stuff/animations), but it still wasn't quite fast enough. Then I went to settings, display, turned off all animations, and now it's blazing fast. Opens up most things instantly. I love it.
Imagine what would happen if we can flash custom ROMs

Probably apps would open just before you hit the shortcut...
With custom roms I'm guessing an app will open right as you just start thinking about opening it. Makes sense.

I'm running the same setup and its fast. Try getting spare parts from the market and turn everything to fast and it will fly even more!
I dont know, I tried disabling animations in the settings but I still got a bunch of HTC animations. To me, LauncherPro seems a lot smoother on my Nexus One (unrooted, stock, etc...)
I run the same setup on my phone too, i have with all my phones, When i got the cliq it was the slowest phone ever and i used launcher pro which made it somewhat faster lol.
woa! snappy! thx!
Only thing I didn't like about Launcher Pro was the wallpaper cropping. Installed Wallpaper Wizardrii and setup is exactly how I've been wanting.
Thanks.
It really does seem snappy. And the lag when opening launcher pros app drawer has disappeared aswell!

hahahah nice
my phone will already know all the apps i will open for the next day and rapidly open them for me as they come
Try ADW Launcher (I use EX) with the same settings. I find it to be just as snappy however much more feature rich than launcherpro.
I'm just drooling waiting for CM7...

ADW EX on its "Fast" setting is quicker and smoother than LP. I have tried all of the launchers in the market and ADW is the quickest as long as you use the right settings. Plus ADW has more customization options than LP. Your right though. When used with a Launcher, it does become faster than the G2X.

Can you list your settings, I would like to try it, I love the context menu when holding a long press over icons, but lp always seemed faster

Anyone else seeing two processes called android.process.acore using very high CPU when LauncherPro is installed?
I've done some Google research, tried all the supposed fixes I can find, including uninstall/reinstall, and no luck.
Posts on the LauncherPro forum confirm the issue, and many have ended up uninstalling it.
So, if your battery life suffers, check running processes to see if this is the culprit.
Ok, I'm sure that it's not only me having this issue, but
I'm trying to install the CleanROM 3.0 Wallpaper and any time that I do, it crops it and turns all pixelated. I've noticed this with any wallpaper I try to set that's not a system wallpaper.. is there any way to fix this??
I'm currently Running CleanROM DE 3.1
but i've noticed this on pretty much every ROM i've ran
here is the wallpaper
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=27624455&postcount=24
I've actually spent yesterday figuring out how to do this in a super roundabout way.
I put the wallpapers I want into CleanROM 3.0 SE ROM itself. I edited the ROM zip file with 7-zip, inserted the background I wanted in the correct location and performed a full data wipe. Then I flashed it to the phone.
And walla, it works... I now have the 2 wallpapers I want in full resolution.
I'm sure there is an app that can put a full resolution wallpaper in your phone for you. I just never looked... lol
We had a similar problem with the HP Touchpad and a guy made an app on the play store to remedy it (here: https://play.google.com/store/apps/...sMSwxLDEsImNvbS5raGFubmluZy50cHdwYXBwbGllciJd)
Unfortunately it only works with the Touchpad's resolution, though if someone made an app to support our resolution then it would work fine.
Just resize it when you select the wallpaper. Touch the opposing corners on the crop box and drag to make it bigger.

I remember back when I first got my inspire and was using the sense launcher, i believe I used an app called wallpaper wizardii or something like that. Might be worth giving a shot.

np, glad I could help.
this is by far the best app ive found
https://play.google.com/store/apps/...Folder&feature=nav_result#?t=W251bGwsMSwyLDNd
I've been using Zedge to set my wallpaper. When I set it through the app, it doesn't seem to lose quality, but if I try setting it through Sense from the downloaded picture, it does lose some quality.
Look up "dodol wallpaper" in the playstore. I set some pretty damn high quality photos as my wallpaper. Always amazes people!
I use an app call wallpaper set and save. It will keep the resolution of the image you are setting as the wallpaper.
I'm running cm9 and when you scroll vertically it doesn't really go very far.. it feels kinda heavy?
Is there anyway to make it scroll further so that it feels lighter? Hope this makes sense its hard to describe what I mean.

I'm not sure if that Rom has this option but some roms have a infinite scroll option that might help. I know my Rom has this option. Check your settings to see if it's available. Best wishes .

Yeh I'm running the same rom and experience the same issue. Would be interested to know if there is a solution.
I don't think there are any options to change this in the settings. As far as I can see anyway.

Infinite scroll is for the Rosie, makes it so it keeps going in a cycle.
Does anyone know how to improve this? When I say increase scrolling distance, I mean so the scrolling is kinda like iOS... I'm not saying I want iOS but I do like the scrolling.

I get what you mean. I've tried CM9 before and I get that same experience when flicking pages up and down...it felt kinda heavy and not smooth. That's why I reverted back to HyperNonSense in order to enjoy this smooth flicking experience. However some claim that by putting these parameters into the /system/build.prop of CM9 and reboot helps:
windowsmgr.max_events_per_sec=240
ro.min.fling_velocity=8000
to.max.fling_velocity=12000
You may wanna give it a shot and see if that helps.

Thanks for the tip, it didn't change my scrolling on CM9 at all though, I did however change the "to.max.fling.." to "ro.max.fling.." as I think the "to" part was a typo on your part, right?
