Hi there,
I am new to this forum and English is not my first language so I apologize for my mistakes. I searched on Google and here but did not find much.
I want to redirect traffic through an app. I don't know how to express it exactly but I want to modify HTTP responses when they arrive.
For example:
My browser requests a website. My app redirects the response through it and changes some HTML code from the response.
I guess I need to use the iptables but I cannot find out how to use them in that way. I don't even know how to start. I neither found any explanations about this topic nor examples (one reason can be
I would love to get tips how to start. Please give advices :good:

This may be a totally noob question but how can I make an app from a webpage? If I create an html page with a bunch of links to other pages and soundclips, how hard is it to turn that into an app. I have no experience creating android apps and I don't know the android code either. Can someone let me know if there is an easy way to create an app from the web page with the type of skills I have. (Very basic)
I do know html so theres no problem in the creation of the page. My only question is in the creation of the app. Thank you in advance for any help.
Can anyone help?
why bother? why not just give them the link to your webpage?
also - given the limited space of a typical android device, a full web page wouldn't translate well to an app.
to answer your original question, it is very easy to create an app that is just a pile html links and sounds.
thank you very much
Hello everyone,
I just wanted to announce a work-in-progress that I'm working on to capture information from the forums at xda and tegratabs. I'm trying to get information into an easily searched location so that if anyone needs to find out something, they can do a direct search and locate it quickly. My goal is to go through the monster threads and cull the good info and organize it in a manner that allows for the average user to find what they need quickly.
The url is http://tegratab.wikidot.com. All are welcome to help edit the site although I do ask that you email me for format, template, etc.
I am not trying to take away any discussion from xda or tegratab.com. I just want to develop a place that makes it easy for the newcomer (and vet alike) to find info as quickly as possible.
This will not incur extra work for the awesome mod builders, developers, etc. You guys keep on posting in the forums; we'll capture the info and make it searchable.
I make no money from this nor will I accept money for this. The site is free; no renumeration is necessary.
Thanks,
EJ

http://wiki.tegratab.com was started a week or so ago and needs some input if you want to do it there, or you can take from what is there already and add to yours.
I have just done a search for "XFJP7" and a list came up with no reffrence to XFJP7.
The first result was: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=817703
I did a search in that thread for "XFJP7" and nothing was found.
If this site wants users to search the threads for answers then you need to fix your searching.....
You also need to make it easer to find threads users posted in......
search
hi,
Well me search bought this up :http://www.google.com/cse?q=XFJP7&s...ub-2900107662879704:fs7umqefhnf&ie=ISO-8859-1 with quite a few results.
Not being sarcastic here, but did you ever think to broaden your search field a little to get more results. for example roms, slowdowns, fixs etc?
THe information is out there, you just need to have a little patience and know how to search!
Cheers.
I consider myself a rational intelligent man but I find this site insanely complex, non-intuitive,an extremely frustrating! After sleepless hours and hours and hours and hours of trying to familiarise myself with this place, this 64 year old man is sitting here in tears trying to find his last post among other simple tasks attempted. Does there not exist here, a simple starting tutorial to introduce one to the basic workings of this place? Please help.
My problems partially solved.
My problems partially solved ...
I FINALLY found a downloadable and functional apk for this forum's app (Google Play store will not play with my device at present ... That is one of the reasons that I am here) ... and that is helping me a LOT!
Perhaps it would be a good idea for you to make it a point to strongly recommend the XDA forums app to newly arriving members here.
I TRULY think that the website UI here could use some development to make it much more new-user-friendly, however.
... Another point ...
Maybe I am missing some kind of search filtering option, but, I do not see any value in hundreds of thousands of non-applicable and irrelevant search results when trying to find something here. Perhaps someone could direct me to such filtering options if they do, indeed, exist.
In closing, I must say that the reception I received when joining here was very pleasant and I am already on my way via some help
and advice from a couple of members here to solve my crashed Play Store problem.

I personally find hundreds of thousands of non applicable and irrelevant search results on very specifically searched items very very very unhelpful...

You should be able to see all your previous posts in your profile and link to the thread there. Xda is confusing unless you know what u want from it. For me if i have a question i just pop it in xda search bar and relevant threads pop up. But if u want to learn everything then u have to come up with a specific thing first theres not really a guide to it all. But u should be able to find almost anything with the right search. If not post question in a help or q&a thread. I will help just let me know what u r looking for

I simply HAD to tether to my PC as I simply CANNOT function on this site via my smartphone ... it is HORRENDOUS. I can't even figure out how to THANK people hardly or reply to their help ...
DAYAM ... what takes seconds here takes HOURS there ... SO MANY BUGS ... photo verification of reply to prove I am not a robot half way off the farking page ... and MANY MANY other concerns.
The help is great but the UI is SO unfriendly !
Anyways ... thank you for your responses and I will be much less tense now that I am on my PC
No I know how to tether ... but I have not been bothering even when at home. I have been so stupid til now. I was just emphasizing how much easier it is to communicate with this site from a large computer, monitor and keyboard is all.
Thanks tho
Hi there,
You will receive more help if you ask in this thread:
> General discussion > About xda-developers.com > XDA Android App - Problems / Bugs / Feature Requests etc.
Good luck
Hello,
I hope I am right here - I could not post in the dev forum because I am not long enough a member here.
Please forgive me this potential noob question, I know how these questions suck for advanced forum members but I simply don't find another way to solve my problem. I googled like crazy and tried to understand the material I found - without success.
I am new to coding and decided to code a simple app which displays a website, just for myself.
Because WebView does not support all the JavaScript Functions the websites needs, I decided to go with GeckoView - which worked fine.
I was really happy to get the app running, even though it's super basic
The website loading inside GeckoView now needs permission to access the microphone of my device.
So I added to AndroidManifest.xml the following line:
Code:
<uses-permission android:name="android.permission.RECORD_AUDIO" />
... still did not work.
When I open the website in question in regular Firefox, the browser asks me to grant permission.
So I guess I need to give GeckoView itself permissions to access the mic.
I looked into the documentation but could not understand anything (I wanted to include the like to the doc here, but because I am new, I can't link to external pages. If you google "Interface GeckoSession.PermissionDelegate" you will find the documentation I am talking about). I did some try and error experiments but it was not working. It was more or less wild guesses because I even could not find any example code/projects using these permissions so I could try to understand it better.
I am simply stuck. I read everything regarding these permissions but have a hard time understanding most of it.
That's why I came here. I would highly appreciate your help so I can finish this seemingly easy task.
Thanks a lot!
