Hello everyone,
I just wanted to announce a work-in-progress that I'm working on to capture information from the forums at xda and tegratabs. I'm trying to get information into an easily searched location so that if anyone needs to find out something, they can do a direct search and locate it quickly. My goal is to go through the monster threads and cull the good info and organize it in a manner that allows for the average user to find what they need quickly.
The url is http://tegratab.wikidot.com. All are welcome to help edit the site although I do ask that you email me for format, template, etc.
I am not trying to take away any discussion from xda or tegratab.com. I just want to develop a place that makes it easy for the newcomer (and vet alike) to find info as quickly as possible.
This will not incur extra work for the awesome mod builders, developers, etc. You guys keep on posting in the forums; we'll capture the info and make it searchable.
I make no money from this nor will I accept money for this. The site is free; no renumeration is necessary.
Thanks,
EJ

http://wiki.tegratab.com was started a week or so ago and needs some input if you want to do it there, or you can take from what is there already and add to yours.

Hello, I'm newly signed in but not new to smartphones or xda forums, i do spend some free time reading here. So in order not to waste your time i will be asking what i need. I'm new to wp7, and i'm new to development. I do have a really hudge idea for an app which maybe would make our travels a bit easier. I won't tell it now until i have something in progress so my question is what software should i download in order to start working? I mean for programming and for testing. That would be it for now. Thank you for waisting your time on me
Visit http://create.msdn.com and download the developer tools. There's a big tile on that page that you can't miss that will have all the software you need to start developing.
thank you really much i will get familliar with this and when i will be needing help i'll post more
So I know XDAers are resourceful and supportive of community efforts. Let's write this guide together! (Especially if you're looking for something to do during the blackout
http://goo.gl/CPp0E (Google Docs)
I've been looking for a visual flowchart of Android schematics, and couldn't find one anywhere. I just wanted to see what Android schematics look like, but lo and behold, I couldn't find one anywhere on the internet!
So in the spirit of Web 2.0 I created one! (under CC license) It's open for editing, because I probably can't get it all right myself. Also, there are probably some things still missing.
Please help me write this. I know I would've loved to have something like this when I was getting into Android modding back in the day.
Also, suggestions for a new title are welcome. Something that says Super General Android Modding Guide for Noobs or something.
Reserved, just in case.
Hi there,
I just started reading your guide, which looks really brilliant.
And in the spirit of open source and peer review, if I can make any positive contributions to it I WILL!
Now back to reading
Dominique
Many thanks. This guide help me a lot. Hope it will be written on.

Hi, please I need access to the guide
I'm making this thread in search of information. I am very new to the world of app development and am in need of some guidance. This forum seemed most relevant to what I will be asking, but if there is a better forum then please refer me there.
I have an idea for an app I would like to be made, how ever I have little to no experience in mobile app programming. So my plan is to hire a programmer and or designer. I initially know exactly what the app will do, how it will look and respond to the user, and the layout as well. What is the best tool for me to create a wireframe or an exact replica of what the app pages will look like? Often times I hear people use photoshop to make a jpeg file of what every page looks like, and then pass it on to a programmer to code it. What are your opinions on this?
Also, I do not know anything about hiring programmers or developers. Where can I find information on how to do this properly? Or how can I find out what the process is in starting a mobile app project? Like finding investors, how to patent an idea to have some security as far as it being stolen, big trusted sites for these kind of jobs? These kind of questions. I'm just looking for a place where I can learn all these things to make sure I don't get scammed.
I don't expect to get all my questions answered, but i'm just searching for a place where I can find the answers. I have been searching google, and there are so many websites and so much advertisement, that I really do not know where to begin. This probably is not the place to ask all these questions, but what is the best place to go?
Hello everyone. I have a quick question...
I currently own and operate a valet parking company and I am looking to have an app created that will give our guests the ability to either scan, using QR scanner, or send a text to a dedicated device so that we can have their vehicle up front and ready for them, 15-20 minutes before they walk out the door.
That is the basics of it, and I know there are other apps in the playstore which do this sort of operation, but I want to create my own.
So my question is, and I have done some research on it within XDA, but wanted to seek the guidance of someone who has done this sort of work. What are my best options for creating and getting this app developed, running, and installed within android and iOS?
Hopefully I am asking this in the correct forum location, if not, please advise me where to post.
Thank You very much!

You can post your requirement on freelancer dot com and set your price. many freelancers are available to do the work.
Once the app is developed, you can publish your app in google play.

Great, thank you!
I consider myself a rational intelligent man but I find this site insanely complex, non-intuitive,an extremely frustrating! After sleepless hours and hours and hours and hours of trying to familiarise myself with this place, this 64 year old man is sitting here in tears trying to find his last post among other simple tasks attempted. Does there not exist here, a simple starting tutorial to introduce one to the basic workings of this place? Please help.
My problems partially solved.
My problems partially solved ...
I FINALLY found a downloadable and functional apk for this forum's app (Google Play store will not play with my device at present ... That is one of the reasons that I am here) ... and that is helping me a LOT!
Perhaps it would be a good idea for you to make it a point to strongly recommend the XDA forums app to newly arriving members here.
I TRULY think that the website UI here could use some development to make it much more new-user-friendly, however.
... Another point ...
Maybe I am missing some kind of search filtering option, but, I do not see any value in hundreds of thousands of non-applicable and irrelevant search results when trying to find something here. Perhaps someone could direct me to such filtering options if they do, indeed, exist.
In closing, I must say that the reception I received when joining here was very pleasant and I am already on my way via some help
and advice from a couple of members here to solve my crashed Play Store problem.

I personally find hundreds of thousands of non applicable and irrelevant search results on very specifically searched items very very very unhelpful...

You should be able to see all your previous posts in your profile and link to the thread there. Xda is confusing unless you know what u want from it. For me if i have a question i just pop it in xda search bar and relevant threads pop up. But if u want to learn everything then u have to come up with a specific thing first theres not really a guide to it all. But u should be able to find almost anything with the right search. If not post question in a help or q&a thread. I will help just let me know what u r looking for

I simply HAD to tether to my PC as I simply CANNOT function on this site via my smartphone ... it is HORRENDOUS. I can't even figure out how to THANK people hardly or reply to their help ...
DAYAM ... what takes seconds here takes HOURS there ... SO MANY BUGS ... photo verification of reply to prove I am not a robot half way off the farking page ... and MANY MANY other concerns.
The help is great but the UI is SO unfriendly !
Anyways ... thank you for your responses and I will be much less tense now that I am on my PC
No I know how to tether ... but I have not been bothering even when at home. I have been so stupid til now. I was just emphasizing how much easier it is to communicate with this site from a large computer, monitor and keyboard is all.
Thanks tho
