Hi guys, this is a thread to show the progress in the development of Android 4.1, Jelly Bean, for the HTC Desire S (Saga). To see what has changed in Android since 4.0, Ice Cream Sandwich, click this link. If the ROM does not boot or there are any problems please provide a logcat instead of just posting in the thread and wasting space, and please do not ask any of the devs for ETA's as they may feel annoyed, and stop contributing their fantastic work - as seen in many other subforums.

OK, I'll download but correct me if I'm wrong; to create a logcat, the command is adb logcat, right?
Something you could be interested in, because i'm pretty sure you will face it as well.
Superkids progress at trying to port JB.
Yes that is the command to get a logcat . Nice to see the work happening in one place although I have to say I'm feeling pessimistic about this.

Well, IMO, if we get Jelly Bean we would be lucky. HTC won't support a device that long especially that it wasn't "Current-Gen" when it was released. At least since we are sure that we will get ICS, that means HTC will release the kernel source and as there's little difference in the kernel between ICS and JB, I guess we will have a fully working ROM in the coming months.

Don't worry about official JB .. it would come with Sense anyway. Nexx and co have you covered for updates which are always quick
It’s time to learn how to get a logcat now!
Is it not possible to port from the Nexus S? I know proxuser has done it before. It probably can't since it hasn't been done but I'm curious as to why.
Going to take me at least a half hour, will have to test tomorrow.

some dudes have made it from a galaxy nexus given at IO for the regular galaxy nexus and the htc one x

I tried all night last night to get a booting port but as close a I come was getting a version that just boot loops. ADB is not working so no logcats to help me out. I am going to work on it some more this evening still trying to rest some right now. There is a member that posted in the thread in the Sensation General forum saying they are porting it and posted a pic of a Sensation with what looks like the Nexus splash screen or bootanimation, see here. But I am not to sure how creditable this is, I need more prof before I believe them. I think I am going to just pull the Galaxy Nexus ROM by Team Inferno apart and see if it tells me anything.

prob the usual bugs when porting, wifi erros, audio erros, minimal things like that but it just gonna be a taste rom for android flasher lovers
Here and ONLY here will you guys discuss about this and any other soak test. Stay on topic at the first signs of derailing, flaming or anything else I will lock and hand out infractions.

I would tend to think that a reasonable % of soak testers will not even try it for the fact there is no known return..... That might be one of the main reasons there are no comments as of yet..... As for the other %'s might not really know how to identify a bug?????
O btw is DNLA back that would be the real only reason i would move from the leak.....

Same thing. I don't have sims in my atrix2s anymore though. I did get the soak test email for both phones. One is bone stock the other is not. Both say up to date. Oh well. Anyone that gets it try the oem unlock.

I was going to say, your ROM is about as close to stock quality as I would expect. Nothing in my mind jumps out in terms of bugs right now. What's the point of official except for the devs to adjust and re-release.

Dudes I recently upgraded my HTC one X and after the upgrade ATT changed the system user rights doing almost imposible to root the phone, I knoe a guy is working to get this issue fixed. But I am wondering if we aare going to expect the same behavior with this "upgrade". Could some one advice?

If it's the same package as leak#2, then there should be no problem with root.
But, I don't believe any of the devs had a chance to check it out yet... so, if someone happened to download it and it's sitting in your /cache folder - I would suggest to copy it to your sdcard, then upload it and pm one of the devs or senior senior members.

Also, besides the actual soak package.. does someone who is on it want to do a system dump and share by pm or post? I'm sure you'll get some thanks for it..

To do a system dump through adb:

Ehh...I just mean like removing the manufacturer ui... like removing sense from HTC and motoblur from Motorola...I really don't know how to explain...I guess it would be making it more like the Google android interface...no memory hogging ui add ons...true stock...Google devices come with jelly bean, not touchwiz jellybean...know what I mean

Its not leaks are/but aren't/ official at the same time. I'm probably only doing the jb one.
The official OTA is not the same as the last leak. The shortcut to google now is change as well as some bug fixes according to verizon. (You now have to hold the home button)
Lol...they probably only changed it because we already had the leaked version...and the changes will be hardly noticeable I'm sure...but you are right a bug fix is a bug fix...but the leak was stable and quite use able...could have used some UI changes though...it sucks that it looks like the old ICS stock...lol

All this is, is a worthless update. It's not even close to what anyone else has gotten. Tmobile users will not see an official 4.2.2 update for months. If we're lucky

I've already tried that and not some other idea flashes
I try that rom some time ago.... I flashed with shartur recovery and boot.img from fastboot and every works Fine in the install. Obviusly have a lot of error
