Making boot animations? - T-Mobile LG G2x

How do I make them? I was trying to search but the search on the app is not working
Sent from my LG-P999

It's really easy. A bootanimation is like a flip book, just a bunch of pictures that get strung together quickly. Add a desc.txt file that controls the displayed image size, frame rate, and method of presentation. Zip that all together making sure that you select store as the compression method, and then you're done.
Edit: Here is a good link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1212555

Greatly appreciated

No problem. I doubt you will, but if you have any questions feel free to pm me or ask in your thread. I made bootanimations as a start to theming, so I know a little about them.

Imma give it a chance when I get back home tomorrow. If I have any issues I'll be sure to ask

What do you mean by size? Do you mean file size or Frame size?

Per the link provided about it says 480 x 800...

Desire Lockscreen

The GSM Hero guys have it working, figured it's probably a fairly easy port for someone.
Original thread here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=676259
The working(for them) update.zip: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=6806909&postcount=25
Example video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5vfXrqa0UwY @ 1:01
The Desire Lockscreen when swiped down slides only the bar, not the entire wallpaper+bar which results in a much nicer looking unlock.
Anyway we could get this ported over? I'm running Fresh 2.3.3.
EDIT: I tried pushing it via ADB. It works, technically. Only the bar slides down. However the graphics are all buggy But it is much smoother!
probably cause its a higher res app. Needs to be reduced to what the lockscreen app in our roms are at. Meaning resize the pngs in the app to match the size of our lower Res lockscreen app
whats so special bout the lockscreen?

No i was with him. I watched the video and didn't see anything special. For the time it took you to type this you could have simply told him what the difference was.
The difference is...in the desire it pulls just the lock bar down. Not the picture as well.
I would be interested in this.

I guess I do not know how to take this comment. I would like to think you are actually thanking me for pointing something out, but it definitely appears to be sarcasm. At any rate, I was simply pointing out that the features had been listed in text, and that if someone watches the video and doesn't understand maybe it's time for said person to read the description.
Thanks.

[REQ FILLED][PORT][THEME] EB16 Minimalist 0.2

as requested, here is minimalist theme from the fascinate...TESTED by me and all is well...flash to your hearts content...some white buttons have white text on them so just a lil warning! but other than that all is well
----------------Must be on EB16 and EB16PnP-------------------
heres the original : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=950112
and if your running a theme prior to this, please flash back to PnP before flashing this
you guys know what to do
disable voodoo
make backup
wipe dalvik
flash this bad boy
wait 5 years for it to boot
enjoy
Download : http://www.megaupload.com/?d=QGK28UF6
Mirror : http://www.mediafire.com/?6q76tbc32waijk7
Text should look default till i can figure out why some buttons where white on white
tator, I hate to sound like a nag, but is the text issue going to be resolved? I love this theme :3
my bad homie...ill make sure i fix it today
can't download this, I've tried 7 different browsers and they load the page but the file wont download. I've downloaded multiple other themes in the meantime.
Sent from my SCH-I500 using Tapatalk
goes straight to the download page for me...but no worries...I'm about to re-upload it because the button ain't right on this 1 but on the newer 1 the buttons almost look default but its better than the buttons having a white background with a white text...lol...but I;m gonna see if i can get the text black before i upload the new version
thanks for letting me know you where having trouble with the link though
no it goes to the page just fine and does the countdown but when I actually hit the "regular download" button it starts the download and never actually works. Depending on the browser it says waiting for data connection or connecting or something. Maybe try mediafire?
Sent from my SCH-I500 using Tapatalk
ill try something else homie...gimme a few...editing the theme a lil more
Alright cool, you rock. No hurry!
Sent from my SCH-I500 using Tapatalk
Huh, is it just me or is there like nothing themed in this? almost everything besides the battery and the notification icons is stock.
Sent from my SCH-I500 using Tapatalk
i had it working on my phone...imma just have to re-port the damn thing cause you arnt the first person to have trouble with it....only thing that should look stock is the soft menu buttons and maybe the power off menu...that all thats stock when i flash it
what all have you done to your phone prior to this theme...PnP and voodoo?
Yeah I have done pnp and voodoo, and the darkfroyo theme prior to this.

try going back to PnP then wipe dalvik and batt, then flash...flashing a theme over a theme can cause problems!!
Using this theme and I really like it! It doesn't have quite as many themed things as other themes I've used (retrokid revolution) like the loading popup and bar, but its still good. And if you're working in the theme anymore Tator, it'd be cool to see just a flat grey box for the notification backgrounds, instead of the stock gradient one.
How long does it normally take to make/ port a theme? And if you are making one, can you take stuff from separate ones you like?
I want to start making some but don't have much time

You can make a frankintheme if you want. porting take almost no time...maybe about 20 min if you know what to do, our less, but building 1 takes alot of time because you have lots of files to edit. If you want I can try to piece together different parts of different themes for you, you just gotta tell me what you might want...i make no promise on whether or not it will work as intended but I'll give it a shot...just pm me

Transformers decepticon boot animation with optimus sound

I no longer have an evo and do not actively check any threads i have created for the evo in the past, if you have a question and I do no answer in a timely manner please send me a private message and I'll do my best to help you out.
Heres a boot animation that I found, it's the transformers decepticon logo and digital rain looping, with transformers audio. I don't know who made the original animation to thank them but if someone knows please let me know so I can give them proper credit.
to use this open terminal and type
adb push bootanimation.zip /system/customize/resource
adb push SPC_final_animation.mp3 /system/customize/resource
Thanks guys, I'm still trying to make a better animation using screen caps from the movie but it's already 3:30 am and my wife is gonna kill me if I do this all night
SPC_final_animation.mp3
bootanimation.zip This is the new resized one it fills the screen properly.
By the way, if theres any problems I'm sorry I'm kind of tired
hey man. nice work. saw this a long time ago, and have been searching for it since. love it. thanks for the contribution.
if you want, i can whip this up into a flashable zip for the peepz
That would make it extremely more convenient, I haven't had time to create a flashable zip

you need to resize both the actual .png files (yes, each one individually) and the desc.txt must be modified to support that resolution you resized to.

Ok I found the problem, the call outs in the base desc file were incorrect, I'll have to change it when I get home and am on my laptop, for some reason the set up is for 320x480 I have no idea how that happened but I will have it changed it'll probably be about 3 hours or so though.
I was waiting for someone to do this! Are the zips flashable through recovery, or do I replace the existing bootanimation file with this one?
Ok I fixed the problem, I'm uploading the new one now it will be in the original post.
Rob the zips I uploaded must be pushed through ADB
DK's are the flashable zips
i'll update my flashables with the new boot.zip probably later tonight.

Here is the audio I have been using with this for a while.

Boot Screen Animation Question

ok i haven't posted in a while but have recently been toying around with my phone again and i recently came across a boot animation i really want on my hero. i know a lot of people have moved on to bigger and better phones but i still use my hero every day i <3 the little phone.
Here's a link to the video of it. i tried changing the numbers in the DESC.txt file to change the resolution to fit the hero but i just get a blank screen then it loads on up. so what am i doing wrong? from what i understand that should be all i need to do to make it fit and work, or is it a bit more involved than that? is there something else that needs to be done like changing the resolution of every part file?

wallpaper ?

can somebody explain this wallpaper deal on the 1X, i find a cool one that according to specs has the correct size. save it to the phone --then i either add it as wallpaper via the Gallery or Personalize and it shows me the wallpaper, with a green square on it that i can slightly enlarge but still it only uses about a third of the entire image, on top of that.. quite a few look like crap (to put it blunt), very pixelated.. what am i missing here.
(related, yesterday i found how to have a different wallpaper on the lock screen but can;t find the setting anymore...)
Use quickpic from the market.

uhm... not quite the explanation i was hoping for ;] will this app allow me to set larger wallpapers ? someone else say it may be a Sense "feature".
Gotta use an app like the one above to make full res wallpapers. I think dodol wallpaper from the marketplace also works.

The "green square" just shows where the home screen will be. Sense has scrolling wallpaper, so you will still see the area to the left and right of the green square as you scroll left and right n sense.

understood, but it also cuts of the top and bottom while i used the right resolution which then makes (if it has something on the image...) pixelated, someone said it may just be Sense who causes that. i find it odd, i download the exact size and have to cut pieces.

Guys, don't be so quick to jump on the op. Its pretty clear what he's trying to say. I know because I experienced it. I'm gonna take a guess and say ur using stock ROM? I had the same problem when I was in stock ROM, he green square only stretches so far, it does not encompass the entire image, therefore the image it sets as your wallpaper becomes stretched and therefore pixelated. I also tried to find ways around this op but I couldn't find any, well that is until I flashed another ROM. I can't quite remember I it worked when I ran cleanrom, but any aosp ROM will work like aokp and cm9/10. With these ROMs the green square stretches out to encompass the full image therefore giving you the right resolution for ur home screen. Other than that I know of no way around the problem. Flash an aosp ROM op, you will thank me for it later

The green box isn't supposed to stretch across the whole image. The green box represent one Sense tab, ie the homescreen. The area ot the left and right of the green box is still part of the wallpaper, when you scroll left and right through the Sense tabs.
I don't see the problem here?

i was using the clock lock-screen, to be able to use a different wallpaper on the lock-screen you must choose "wallpaper" instead of the clock lock screen.. can't have both i guess (#unrooted)
Myself I find pics in range of 1280x1440, that gives nice clear picture viewable over several scrolling screens.
Of course, Ymmv.
