Samsung galaxy Nexus - General Questions and Answers

When i turn on my phone it shows me this i can not do anything when i try to download firmware on this phone by using odin it fails every time

Hello, we need some more infos to be able to help you. Do you have a custom rom on it? Which recovery do you use. As the galaxy nexus is an offical dev phone there are many ways you can fix this. On the first sight it looks as if it would directly boot into recovery but there is no recovery on the phone (bad picture btw).
Try to boot into bootloader (phone off, hold power and vol down) that should bring you into the bootloader from where on you can flash a new recovery partiton.

[Q] flashed wrong bootloader

Hi Guys;
I did some stupid thing to my phone.
I decided to flash ICS 4.0.4 on my phone using fastboot. after I done I notice that i flash the wrong bootloader and boot.img. so I return to bootloader mode again to flash everything back, but i dont have cwm and adb cant find my device, because the usb debugging is not enable. just want to know can some tell me what to do? I really need my phone .
Thanks
Why were u flashing a new bootloader in the first place...
Sent from my Nexus S using XDA App
Does the phone boot at all? I guess the big question is that if the phone boots and functions I wouldn't bother changing the boot loader out again. If you really want to, and the phone can boot you can reenable USB debugging in settings..
Anyway try this to get into the bootloader:
Power the Nexus S down, and hold Volume Up & the Power button until booted into the bootloader. You should see a white screen with three skating androids.

Power off phone. Now Hold Vol. Up + Power. Plug it into your computer and use fastboot to reinstall CWM (fastboot flash recovery recovery.img). Now go straight into recovery, mount USB, copy a new ROM over, do your standard wipes and flash the new ROM. Now reboot. If this doesn't work, try flashing an official stock FULL ROM, 2.3.6 or 4.0.3. There is a stickied thread in general with them all.

[Q] Stuck after entering "adb reboot recovery" in adb.

Hey i'm kind of an android noob and i discovered adb, while i had my GT-S7275R plugged via USB i used the command adb reboot recovery.
This got me in some sort of mode that i dont think is really recovery mode (see attachement). The problem is that i can't get out of it.
The only things i can do are:
1. pull out the battery and get it into download mode
2. stare at it and hope for it to magically boot into its OS
3. plug it in via USB and then it will try to boot and then it stops again and then it will boot again but it will stop again...
Device info:
Model No.: Samsung Galaxy Ace 3 GT-S7275R
Stock ROM
Android Jelly Bean 4.2.2
Rooted

power off your phone!!
press Volume up + Home+Power Button together for about 3 seconds..
you will enter recovery mode..
then using volume up/down keys navigate to factory reset device and press power button
device will be reset and you will loose your data but your mobile would work
PS: You Can Power Off by pulling out battery

Okay i think i found the problem, i wanted to flash a custom recovery (CWM) but i used the CWM version for the 3G version of the ace 3 and i have the 4G one , since the 3G version of CWM doesnt work on the 4G ace i just wiped my stock recovery and didnt get CWM which leaves me without any recovery so the question now is: How do i get my stock recovery back?
Flashing Stock Rom Would get you what you want!!

S6 Stuck on Samsung S6 powered by Android screen

Hi everybody,
I guess i need some help, i got a S6 with a strange problem. It's stuck on the Samsung S6 powered by Android screen.
I tried almost everything. It's not my own phone so it's kinda hard to know exactly what caused the problem.
The story is that it was running perfectly with some custom rom, when using skype it suddenly shut down and got stuck on the logo. Now, i can go into download mode but not into recovery. So, i flashed twrp with odin with no problem, odin says completed. But when i start recovery it only says "recovery is not seandroid enforcing" and stays on that combined with the s6 boot logo. After that i tried flashing the stock rom again with odin , also going perfectly but same story , stuck on logo. I also tried 5.1.1 , 6.0.1 , bootloader, kernel, etc etc but all of them same story, stuck on logo....
Now i tried restoring the device with smart switch, and it did that perfectly with no errors, but after it got finished it restarted and u guess it...... stuck on logo!
So... i'm running out of ideas, any of u got some?
Thanx in advance
go into what recovery you have, stock or custom and wipe dalvik and cache and reboot then wait up to 15 mins

If that was possible.... Recovery doesn't boot, i can only go into download mode. I can flash a recovery (or rom, bootloader , modem ,everything) without any problem with odin (no errors) but that's it. When trying to boot into recovery it just gets stuck again.
Keep trying to access twrp via key or button combo
Any update on this?
SM-G920F - NanoRom
If got the same Problem is there any Help ????
Maybe you are doing the enter into recovery button press timing wrong, etc. Its easy to mess up. Keep trying to get into recovery or give the phone to someone else to try enter recovery. The phone needs to be off first.
OR if you reboot via volume down and power which is what you have to on s6 since there is no battery to remove, you need to quickly switch t volume up power and home.
Enter in download mode flash TWRP WITH ODIN. THAN REFLASH A STOCK OR CUSTOM ROM.

In other words:reflash TWRP with ODIN. It will reboot straight into TWRP after flashing

When you get to the download mode don't press volume down to enter. Instead press vol up + home + power to enter recovery. This has worked for me so I'm sure it will work in your situation. Good Luck
And when you are doing the button combination to get into recovery, try not releasing any of the buttons until you see TWRP image

How to fix my Samsung Galaxy J7 on bootloop without recovery mode?

Hello, so my Samsung galaxy j7 (SM-J700F with android version 6.0.1) goes on bootloop after I tried to install xposed updates after rooting the device using odin and installing custom recovery twrp without much thinking (my bad). I tried to go to recovery mode by pressing volume up, power, and home buttons, but failed because it says "can't boot on normal mode invalid kernel length" , also I can't boot the device normally because it says the same thing and goes on bootloop. I searched for guides but all of them tell me to go to recovery mode which I can't. I can only go to download mode by pressing vol down, power and home buttons. I already backed up important files to external drive before the whole process, if I have to do a factory reset to fix this it doesn't matter. I'm very noob I'm not familiar with the language also I really appreciate your help asap thank you very much
You have to factory reset. Since your bootloader is still working (download mode), download your device firmware from sammobile and flash using odin.
Welcome to the android community and good luck!

[BRICKED] GT-P3100 Stuck at BOOT logo; can't go into RECOVERY; deleted "BATTERY STATUS"

So I bricked my device again. *applause*
What Happened?
Flashed CWM using Odin
Booted into CWM Recovery
Deleted everything - /data, /sys, and most definitely the battery stats (I know that frustrated look on your face)
Rebooted *mwahahaha*
Output:
Stuck at boot logo
Can't boot into recovery anymore
Can't go into download mode either for unknown reasons (apart from faulty side buttons)
Odin shows COM1 port but can't establish connection when I try flashing and booting CWM (we know why; we haven't gone into download mode have we?!)
Stuck at boot logo
Stuck a-
Discovered solutions:
Strategy is to try going into EDL by hook or by crook. So we take the device apart (done), press on the power key and volume down key with a screw driver (done), and boot into download mode (done)
Flash CWM again via Odin
Reboot into Recovery (DOES NOT WORK)
It's probably because SAMSUNG does a battery check before the boot. And finds absolute garbage.
So my question is, is there a way to flash the entire firmware as a whole (including modem images, battery shiz and all that) VIA ODIN? This one solution if available will settle the whole puzzle for me.

I think ( yes think because I am not an expert ??!!! ) th problem is with recovery. Why don't you try again with different version of CWM. If still not, try TWRP.

(Sorry ! Read your post more carefully and am replying ) yes you can flash entire firmware via odin. What you actually did was you wiped out the whole system. Well try to install any recovery and you can also install a custom rom of android 7 ( the latest for our tab but outdated too ).
