Hi guys. I hope you can help me with a self caused problem
At first I was very happy with my Sensation XE. Everything worked but the guy from whom I bought this phone applied the screenprotector very bad! (with a lot of airbubbles). So I applied a new screenprotector (using the water/soap method). Screenprotector applied very nice (without any single bubble). So after a while I tried to navigate through my phone but it responded very badly. So I did a soft reset and let it settle for 30 min (also tried to dry the phone with a hairblower).
now a part of the screen doens't work (the red part)..

How to fix this? please help me out!
Screen itself works fine.. but the touchscreen on the red area isn't
First of all I'd try flashing a new ROM (if you are rooted) or an official RUU - to rule out a software problem.
Then you should check the connection - read THIS THREAD.
If still nothing remove the protector and check.
If nothing mentioned above helps - it's a hardware fault and the digitizer needs to be replaced.

My Sensation is not rooted. When I woke op this morning first thing what I did was checking if that part of my screen was working. And it works.. So problem solved next time when I apply a screen protector I'll remove my battery and the backcover to be sure nothing will happen again with my sensation!

Major problem!
I've had 5.0.1H for the past several hours; no real problems. I just applied the new HTC radio update, restarted the phone, and like always, the battery image came up, asking me to remove the battery.
I did this, turned back on the phone, and it's still asking me to take out the battery. I've done this about five times, and nothing's changed. I've tried booting up with the camera + power buttons, as well as the home + power buttons, but it's still telling me to take out the damn battery. Any help?
If it helps, I applied the "Saphire-Radio-Update (rc33).zip" update from http://code.google.com/p/sapphire-port-dream/ .
Um... does it look like this:

If so, that's just showing that's it's FLASHING your radio, do NOT remove the battery! Let it finish or you'll risk bricking!

Wow; close one. For some reason, I just always assumed that meant take out the battery. I don't ever remember leaving it in before, although I guess I've only updated the radio once or twice, so I can't be sure.
In any case, I left the battery in for about thirty seconds with it powered on, and it formatted and started up fine. Thanks for the help! I feel kinda dumb now.
I recently dropped my Xoom (in a case onto a carpeted floor). It semeed to survive but now the display shows distorted colors like the sample attached. I thought it might be a loose connection but I can be working away and the screen will revert to normal and stay that way for days.
And I can suspend it while it's okay, come back to it and the display is corrupt again.
Can anybody work out what could be going on? I would prefer not to have to replace the screen but I don't really know if that is the issue if it reverts back to normal all the time.
Thanks

Silly me. The screen shots look distorted to me also because I was posting on the device!
Yeah looks like a loose connector to me. You may be able to fix it if it was a soldering joint. I guess the repair can do the same thing.
I dropped my tablet recently and the screen got screwed like yours, but mine is worse. I don't know too much about hardware, but I think that it's the crystal that broke, so it may be hard to fix :/. Anyway, if you get it back working I hope you to share some info with me, as well I will do if I get working .
so i bought this 16gb nexus 5 D820 a little over 2 months ago and had no problems with it whatsoever until this noon, when i was just browsing the 'net as usual, my phone became warm, i thought it was normal since i checked cpu-z it said it was 45 degrees and normal, cool..i kept on browsing till it rebooted by itself twice, still no problem, cool. since it was running low on battery i charged it and upon finishing the screen looks like this now, apart from it, everything else still works though.

i thought it was software issue since i didn't crack the screen, nor did i drop it, i was on purity + hellscore then. i flashed google factory image, unroot it and locked the bootloader again making it look as if it was just taken out of the box, but to no avail, it still looks like this up until now
i guess the heat somehow broke the lcd's component,
has anyone ever experienced this before ? how on earth could this happen?
Just a random hardware failure... These things just happen out of the blue... I'm not sure but I don't think this flickering has anything to do with the device rebooting itself on getting hot..
RMA it asap...
Even I am facing the same issue since few days. I am yet yo find the solution to fix this. I do not want to replace the display just for this. I just hope this might not create any problems in future. Please let me know if u have found the solution to fix this issue
Hi. My experience with the OnePlus service was not so good. When I got the phone I had a black spot on the back camera. Contacted the warranty support with no success. They replied after more than a month!!! (after I already disassembled the phone) suggesting to restore the CM11S... Anyways. The black spot is gone now. I don't know what I did, it just disappeared (not right after I disassembled it).
The problem is that my proximity sensor stopped working. I think I touched something when took off the back panel. Tried different programs and It showed that the phone doesn't have a proximity sensor. Today I took off the back panel again and it reappeared but it is not responding. Maybe I need to calibrate it?
The light sensor also stopped working as you see from the SS.
I tried this 2 apps:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.incredicontrol.ProxSensorCalibrator&hl=en
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.vrognaas.proximityfix
The first one starts and the screen goes blank. The second does nothing at all. It says that SuperSu granted root acces or something like that but it doesn't show anything.
I am attaching some screens of sensor testing apps. Maybe someone had the same problem and managed to fix it. Thanks
I am on CM12-20141229-UNOFFICIAL-bacon by the way
And yes, I tried restoring to the official cm-11.0-XNPH44S-bacon-signed-fastboot, I had the same problem..

I'm having this exact problem and I downloaded those same two apps, with no success...
Try the solution in this thread if you're on CM12 :

My OnePlus One lost the red color on screen. The red became to brown!
Android ver 5.1.1 - kernel ver.3.4.67 Cyanogen OS ver. 12.1.1
What should I do to get back the red color?
Hi all,
Replaced the digitzer on my son's almost brand new s4 mini today (after his stupid friend dropped it and cracked the screen), first time I've done this, but it seemed quite straightforward process, all the parts came out with minimal effort, put everything back together again without an issue and powered up the phone and the screen seems corrupted, I've checked all connections 3 times and still the same thing happens see image below.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hello, and welcome to XDA!
Was going to suggest the S4 Mini Q&A; it looks like you have made it there already...
Hope ti helps!
