I am planning to buy Touch Pro from either Germany or Netherlands because it is cheaper there and I would like to know from members from Germany and the Netherlands if the PPC comes with a standard english keyboard or a localised QWERTY keyboard. I am asking this because I would like to know if the keyboard is actually marked with "å","ö","ä", and other scandinavian letters.
I am thinking to buy now from http://www.2call.nl or anyshop from these list here
thanks
don't buy at 2call!!!
Sorry, I don't know about the keyboard layout of dutch or german Tuch PROs, but I know that you should avoid buying at 2call.nl.
I bought there. They delivered Touch PRO with faulty hardware and now refuse to take it back. They sent me to HTC to get it repaired (a 10 days old device, can you believe that!?).
HTC can't and tell me to contact the retailer again.
So now i am in an endless loop, wich 2call.nl should never have started.
Take my advise, buy somewhere else.
Regards,

Right now Expansys sells the WWE-Version (with QWERTY-keyboard) as well as the German version (with QWERTZ-keyboard) for nearly the same price here in Germany - llok at the Wiki for link. You can get the WWE-version on different shops in Germany, but it will become more difficult because now HTC and the providers started to deliver the German version - we had to wait a while until this happened ... So be careful and ask which version is to be delivered and shipped to you before ordering. In Germany, you may freely choose to send back the phone within 2 weeks if you do not like it (this is in fact EU-law, so it should work in NL as well - don't mention that is does not work or is defect, just send it back and claim your money back).
Cheers

Dutch version w QWERTY
I have a Dutch version, it came with a standard QWERTY keyboard.
Thanks for the information. I am just interested to know if the keyboard is actually marked with "å","ö","ä", and other scandinavian letters.
Because I would like to know what to do when typing the "special letters"
Hi I have the german HTC version and its a QWERTZ and the scandinavian letters are NOT marked.

Thank you for this information. I will have to stay away from the QWERTZ keyboards Anymore info from the Dutch and other QWERTY owners in Germany and Netherlands? I also would like to hear from the British owners too.
I might be travelling to Germany, UK and Netherlands soon so I would like to have this information before hand to know what to go for.
A friend told me that even if I get the standard QWERTY without the scandinavian letters marked, I can download an available cab file and I can have them displayed by using Fn + a to get ä, Fn + o to get ö and Fn + p to get å. Is this really possible?

You dont need a cab - just use Schaps AdvanceConfig Tool (http://www.touchxperience.com/) an switch the layout to what ever you want. This is not a problem. I had a German Hermes and switched to English. Just don't get confused by the marking on the keys...

thanks for your prompt reply.
Does it mean that with AdvanceConfig Tool, I can have the letters easily without complicated button combination? I am still wondering how to get the ä,å,ö to my text messaging with this application...
Yes - at least for the german version it was like this. I flashed a englisch image, switched with schaps brilliant tool (its just changing registry entries) the layout back to german so that it was fitting again to the markings on the key. So I think it should work also the other way around, switch a german keybord to an scandinavian layout.

Hello everyone,
I'm currently thinking about buying a new tablet (I've already tried the first galaxy tab and the transformer) and I found a nice deal (in France) for the Xoom 2 Media Edition.
Would you recommend the media edition for 265$ (in fact it's 265€ but since 1$=1€ for all the manufacturers...) ? I mean I know the xoom 2 is not a big improvement upon the first version but do you think this is a good deal ?
Also it doesn't seem that the community is interested in the xoom 2. I fear that there won't be any custom rom or any other work done on this table. Am I correct ?
Thanks for your responses !
The problem is that it doesn't appear to be unlockable and rootable at this time, so no development. If you don't care about that, go for it. If you want to tinker and customize, get an original Xoom. ICS (Android 4.0.3) builds are already here! Awesome!
Hello, I am currently living in China and I've bought here a Philips Entertainment Tablet 7 (PI3000). It runs an Android 4 in English and the HiMarket.
Is there any way to get it to run android with a German language and with the play store? If so, who has information, links, etc. for me?
Thank you very much

I want to buy Acer Iconia A701 from amazon.de
I’m considered that being bought from Germany it would have user interface in German only.
Has anyone bough A700/701 from amazon.de? Do you have English language as an option?
What about those of you who have German ROMs like AV051_1.XXX.YY_EMEA_DE. Do you have an option to switch to English or the local firmwares have the local language only available?

The very first thing you do when you switch the tablet on for the first time is select the language.
And if I'm not mistaken, English is included in every Acer Rom, regardless of region.

So what is the difference between _DE, _FR and _CUS1 firmwares as they all support English?
likely different apps included on tab

It's the region. And thus contain support for languages specific to that region.
Also, there will be some different configurations such as APN's, and Wifi Configs.
As well as certain countries have restrictions on what can and can't be downloaded from the Play Store.
Although most of these issues are easily overcome with a few edits
