Pandora Solution? - T-Mobile LG G2x

What are you guys using to listen to music? At one time, I had downloaded an unlimited version of Pandora. Now, the ads are killing me with the market version. What other services or solutions do you guys have to listening to music?

Tune In Radio and Slacker.

I'm using Slacker radio seems so much better even though on some roms volume+ wont work with it
G2x

I loved slacker however it insists on running all the time and causes a pretty massive ammount of partial wakelocks. Cached content is an amazing feature though especially when you work out in the bush or out of service area.

So what do you think about Rdio
G2x

I was using slacker, but it was getting repetative like Pandora, not to mention expensive, soon many different tier's and in my opinion, too much forethought to personalize the stations..
I enjoy DJ mixes and a variety of mainstream music, right now I use
Fit Radio (great DJ mixes hip hop, electronic, and rock.. has volume level fluctuation and I haven't looked into it, randomly force closes)..
And TuneIn radio.. its like a free version of Sirius radio
My advice would be to pay the Buck for the pro version, says benefit is abuliry to record but I've noticed 2 or 3 times the amount of podcast and world stations. Also quality and connection seemed to improve as well.
All depends on the type of music, and how often you listen, and if you use headphones, Bluetooth or wired to audio Jack..

Soundza

being as I have a sub to XM Radio, I use their app for my music pleasures

Rockin the Unlimited Pandora v5.x.x.x

Unlimited padora 1.3 here w/ cm7 volume controls for music. Never noticed any adds?
Edit: I can upload it somewhere for you if you want it.

Edit,srry

I use Xiialive, very good for streaming shoutcast radio
thanks guys i will give all those a try. the only thing that sucks is the volume with headphones on.. once they'replugged in it goes to a low hard to hear volume.
Cant say i'm seeing the same thing, volume is plenty (although I agree its not screamingly loud but then any louder and it would just distort to hell anyway) I usually have it on a few presses back from full while commuting, keeps the noise in me ears rather than in everyone elses and its loud enough to block out everything else so I'm only listening to it.

Replacement for Pandora

anything else out there besides Pandora?
On my evo4g it always lags up and when I first start it, shows a "Loading" screen for a while..like all through the first song so I can't change stations, or like/dislike/skip a song for a while.
This is on gingerbread'd evo 4g, over WiFi.

I find slackers music library to be much deeper than Pandora. also the station cache feature is well worth the 5 dollars a month because it saves a ton of battery life, data usage, and makes stations accessible when signal is low.
jango is a good alternative.

+1 for slacker, the music quality seems better as well. If you pay $9 a month, you can create your own playlists from the songs you have selected that you like and listen to them anytime. Thats my fav feature. Oh and i like the UI much better.

Bluetooth devices used for music or navagting?

What devices are people using that permits listening to music, etc.?
I have an older type that only works for calls.
I drive for three and a half hours twice a week and would like to listen to music and audio books and other mp3s.

Thanks for the tips.
I'm really interested in what bluetooth devices people are using with this phone. I need to get a better one as mine does not support music, just phone calls.

Any apps as GOOD as music junk?

Music Junk is frickin amazing, it litteraly found every song...old, new, doesn't matter what kind english and spanish....too bad the last couple of months it just has been plagued by too many errors. It only runs for about a wk at a time then doesn't work no more. I've tried several others and they don't even come close. Gtunes is one of them. Whats everyone using? If possable please add a download link.
Soundhound. Its in the market. Had it with my Sense 4 on my Droid Incredible 2 and it worked decent. Found majority of my music.. the only time it didn't get it was with a couple of my indie/punk bands that never went too far in the 90s/early 2000s
Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk 2
Sound hound is great and includes lyric syncing to the song you listening too as well as download links.
Cole
free or do you have to pay for the song?
Music junk lets you download songs for free so I don't think soundhound is what he is looking for. I personally use groove shark and it also allows you to save the music on your device. You get a free trial with it but I heard you can keep clearing the app data for another trial

Music Junk is the bomb but I never can get it to work/ I have been using Tunee music lately. it seems like the server gets overloaded sometimes so you have to open up a couple of times before you get in to the system.
I honestly have 3 different Mp3 downloaders downloaded. If one doesnt have what I am looking for I try a different one.
Tunee music has been the closest thing to Music Junk that I can find.
What version are you guys using? I'm using 4.3 and don't have any problems.

Thanks for the repkies guys. Yes im looking for free app and its music. Funny thing...music junk worked on wifi the other night and now its working without wifi. Im gunna download tunee music too.

Except its still broken on our device. Pop/crackles all the time and they have yet to fix it. Yes its PA, it doesn't happen on any other player.

music player recommendations (other than Poweramp)?

I'm looking for a new player to use for my device, because Poweramp is extremely glitchy. anything can help. thanks

Yeah, no glitches / issues for me as well! Runs smoothly..
If you want a change, you could try Musixmatch or rocket player..

its like from now, if I add music files, more specifically, .aac files, the time of the track has seemed to double, yet starts at the middle of that doubled time, so it plays normally. why am I looking for a new player is because it actually cuts the track at the end too early, and I want to actually listen to entire track.

I don't know about the doubling thing, but the end of the track being cut off is probably because of your crossfade / gapless settings which can be adjusted.
Personally, the only music app I ever used was Poweramp until I switched to Google Music All Access when I bought this phone. I haven't looked back.

what I meant was that it actually cuts off 2-5 seconds before the track ends. I've used the Poweramp forum to discuss my problems with little help.

Doubling of track time is a problem with the specific music file and not with PowerAmp..
Even I have faced this a few times but it was because of the bad file... I re-downloaded the file from a different source and everything was ok!
Seriously, there isn't any music app which I've found better than PowerAmp and I've been using it since ages!

My advice is Walkman Player...but you need root...the clearaudio equalizer is something that is amazing! I really love it!
You can try Shuttle+ found on the Play Store.
