No problem. It was actually one of the first things my girlfriend and I thought to try. We were quite disappointed. Now, it's actually pretty inconvenient (in my opinion) but an app exists (not sure of the name, if you are really interested let me know and I will hunt it down)
The app requires BOTH users to have the app installed and Bluetooth enabled.
It will allow you to use NFC to make the bluetooth link and send the picture over bluetooth. To me it doesn't sound like it's worth the effort, but it might possibly fit your needs.

Was going to suggest the same thing. Bump works with even gingerbread phones. It doesn't require you to turn on bluetooth.
I've successfully transferred web pages, contacts, and play store links via android beam but pictures don't work.

Nope, is Android Beam.
S-Beam is currently GS3 proprietary that used NFC to hook up WiFi-Direct for a hyper-boost in transfer speed.
Rechecked & Revised, Found out it was not supported in ICS. Android Beam in ICS mostly support in text based functions, on my guess the root cause was NFC's tiny bandwidth.
However, Google recently adding picture and video support into JB which will hook up bluetooth to speed up transferring. Ehhh~ Too bad, personally prefer S-Beam from Samsung which hook up WiFi-Direct for much better speed, though there are fewer devices compliance with WiFi-Direct now. Sammy, it time to show your commitment give that to Google...
Isn't the whole switch to wifi-direct thing how Bluetooth 3 works?

Use Bump. No wifi or bluetooth required.
So the Xperia T and the SGS3 can both do NFC transfers and yet the One X, one of the few other phones in that class, can't? That has left me beyond disgruntled. HTC really are a disgrace at times.

Hi guys!
I'm planning to buy the TF101, but I'm not sure about a couple of things.
Can it actually play 1080p videos? Or 1080p YouTube videos? Is the YouTube app streams over 1080p?
Or we must open the browser if we want to watch it in high resolution?
How many hours it usually lasts with watching videos?
Is it fine with the stock ICS, or I have to switch ROMs in order to get a decent tablet?
I would greatly appreciate an input from those who have the TF101.
If u buying new, rather get something else, ics is a hit n miss on the tf101 at the moment, and asus don't seem close to fixing it honestly
I've got one, no serious issues with mine, I enjoy it
Not sure about the video playback

It will play hd youtube(720p i think) however the playback is not great, actual image quality is pretty good but as soon as there is any sort of fast moving action it starts to skip a second here, a second there Really annoying as it is a priority for me also. The last firmware update was supposed to have fixed this issue but seems to have made little difference. Have finally got round to rooting and am now searching for a rom that has sorted the issue. Its not a bad tab apart from this though and if you can get it at the right price there really isnt much wrong with it

I want to replace my DHD, but Im not sure whether to choose a one x or galaxy note2.
Personally I love the design of one x and im fantastic about its UI, but after so many problem exposed im not so sure now.
galaxy note2 seems like a powerful phone, no interest on its UI but maybe a good phone.
I want to know if the problem with one x on the web is true and how good its performance is. i saw someone in DHD forum go back to DHD from one x, and not sure why.
Sorry for my messy expresson( maybe because im in mess....) but I do need some help
Hi. I do own both a DHD and a HOX. Since I bought a 64gb SD for the DHD and installed ICS on it I felt in love with my DHD again.
Don't get me wrong, HOX is a great phone! It's fast, makes great pictures and so on, but it has no place for an external SD card. I do want to have everything on my phone, from music to videos to games. With my HOX I have to watch carefully it's space.
If I were you, I would buy the galaxy s 3.
Press thanks, if it was helpful.

better than iPhone; you do not need any iTunes like prog to transfer files, you can use OneX int storage as an usb storage as usual, mine is 32gb international model, I had also similar thoughts and hesitations as well at the beginning but this is not really a problem. I can easily transfer my camera shots, videos etc without problem.
The only concern, with my OneX, is wi-fi policy; it goes sleep when screen off, and this turns out a problem if you use it for ex. as remote control for other devices like tv, stereo etc in your home network like me, because reconnection to network is required each time you wake your phone, also the same issue makes streaming music via home network through your sound system unusable, just due to that. Otherwise, if you will not use your phone in that way, no any matters at all.
Note: in some custom roms this is already fixed afaik.

I think that the hox is the best phone on the market. My wife ownz a sensation, which is much better that the desire hd and the one x blows it away! The screen quality has no match and it is really fast. In the initial roms the hox had some problems but with that latest update from HTC everything works great.
I also use a custom rom which makes the one x to fly...
Buy the one that you like, all your options are great phones.
Get a Motorola razr maxx or wait and get a razr maxx hd.
Battery life is almost double, it is made by Google so you will get quick updates and there is an sd card slot.
I wish I knew it existed before I bought my one X.

Google bought Motorola for patents, they aren't in charge of their software updates.
Only Nexus devices get quick updates. No Motorola device (apart for the Xoom which is a Nexus) has got JB yet for example

It really depends on your network provider. I am living here in a deserted place in U.A.E and i haven't face this kind of problems yet.
If you pick One X, i am sure you'll not regret it, besides from its simple and good looking design, the phone itself is a beast, especially if you unlock your phone and install a custom rom, battery life will surely increase as well.

You're correct on where I got it. The HTC clock app is new, but the features are pretty much the same as they've always been. So far that's the only "new" app in the HTC section of the market.
Edit: Actually, there is one new feature that ties in with WP8 and it allows you to use the HTC app on your lock screen. So you have a clock, and weather on your lockscreen, as well as a new background.

Hmmm, couldn't find the panorama function. Flashlight is there and pre-installed as well as attentive phone. I must say the wide angle front lense is pretty nice. Can't wait for the new Skype to be released.
Also, a feature that I hadn't seen or heard about before, is that in the camera you can install "lenses" so you can switch between using the "bing" lenses and using it to scan bar codes and such, to switching to apps such as "camwow". All within the native camera app

Performance is great, as always with most Windows Phone devices. It has a 1.5 dual core cpu for a OS that only really needs 1 core so it flys along. Build quality is great, the unibody and slim curved body feels great in the hand. Reception wise, I have full bars where I live so I can't say. And sense? There is no sense.... this is not Android....

Unfortunately, it doesn't look like you can. Maybe through Skydrive? Not sure though. Interesting side note, is that on WP7 there was Adobe pdf reader, and now its Microsoft's own pdf reader (the same can be found on Win8)
Wow! You're right! I just got finished installing Windows 8. I hadn't even opened a PDF yet so I checked it out. Yup. The default reader is completely different, as are the PDF file icons. I found a couple of traits I don't like in the new reader, but, just as I have been able to circumnavigate most Windows 8 issues by returning to the trusty old desktop, in looking at the tool bar in the top of the folder containing the PDF, there was an arrow beside the word "Open". This allowed me to open the PDF with the old reader, which worked as per normal on my network printer.
Back to the subject. It is a total screw-up that we STILL can not send a PDF with a WP8. This was a well known shortcoming in WP7. When are they gonna' fix this?
Aaaaaaargggh!

Someone told me that pdf files now show up in the Office hub so you can email them from there.
Here's a video that shows how: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=FE1xh1VF8v4#t=150s
Also, one additional question: If you forward an email message, can you edit the original email text? Thanks.
Can you possibly test the speed and reliability of push notifications? One thing Microsoft does not talk about is how or even if push notifications have improved. Test Facebook, Twitter, something. See how quickly notifications arrive, or if they even arrive at all.

I think they should not even advertise the Google play store: very very limited on what you can download.
I d/l stuff on my Kindle Fire HD & transfer it over. A lot of it works anyway, as long as it's not too touchscreen dependent. Be nice if we could get root (it exists), but it's being kept from the general population.
