So I was bouncing around XDA and found this thread and thought it was pretty neat. Original thread here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1571645 , and the original original thread here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1561386
"I saw this thread in the Epic and Rezound forums and related to most of them.. so just post and complete this sentence "You know you're rooted when.."
Examples:
masaidjet: You know you're rooted when you tell a neighborhood hoe to " wipe her cache "
wscott9903: You know you're rooted when 1/2 of your apps require superuser permission.
feralicious: You know you're rooted when your spouse tells you they're leaving you and taking the kids and you think "perfect timing, (insert dev name here) just released a new ICS ROM".
jayochs: you know you're rooted when your phones buggy as hell lol
putney1477: You know you're rooted when, you husband, wife, significant other gets a new phone and says, don't you dare come near this phone, it works fine!
jackpot08: You know your rooted when when spend more time flashing roms than using your phone"
You know your rooted, when about mid cycle your data speed drops to below edge speed
I can relate to all of those.

Hey bro, I stopped picking it apart (for a little break), but also am waiting for the kernel to be realeased. Once its released we'll be able to change host and other fun stuff to allow more avenues to be explored.

Son of a [email protected]?/$. Wish they would release the source code already... Maybe now that I'm done with school for a minute I will dig into att for some info on the source code...

IIRC, someone was was able to flash a boot.img via CWM....so S-Off isn't a crushing priority unless we want to change the radio or version of HBOOT....Still something to pursue....but not choking development.
CM9 is already in an early alpha phase....so when kernel source drops it should help provide data on the broken pieces (unless HTC just happens to leave out the parts we need).
Anyhoo, everyone is getting antsy because there are not breakthroughs happening every day now. You have to understand we are about 70%-80% already opening this entire phone to all of its capabilities that users expect with mature, heavily developed devices (CWM, TWRP, root, unlocked bootloader, a few great Custom ROMs, etc.). The last remaining 20-30%, mostly kernel source, should finish providing what all of us need to 'top it off' (CM9, AOKP, Custom Kernels, etc.).
Be patient, we've already gone through most of the hard parts ....just waiting on HTC now...
I just tried to "check for updates" on my AT&T One X, and to my disbelief it has one! I will let you know when it completes what it changed.
Any others with an update?!

Yup, same as the leak.
Nothing new here, too bad. But not surprising. It seemed there is a pretty good source(s) for the leaked RUUs, so I bet we'll see them here before they go OTA.
True that's always a good.thing lol hope there will be root now

Haven't done any research on this so sorry if old news or not applicable to our phone

Hi,
I am just looking to fix my app associations by doing this http://www.androidcentral.com/how-restore-functionality-apple-v-htc-war-has-taken-away-root, will rooting via the one click method allow me to do this?
thanks
the oneclick method will root your phone, and that will allow you to modify those files
Thank you for the reply.
Need a One click root for 1.78.401 eu OTA.....

I don't think the oneclick script listed above is base specific. It should work on any base, TMOUS or EU

Alright I can't for the life of me seem to find the old thread about this, but has anyone figured out how to disable htc linkify on stock 2.20? I tried freezing it and changing the build.prop lines like in 1.85 that made it work and still nothing. Has anyone figured out what you need to do on stock to get links in email and such working?

Hasn't been done yet. Htc sealed it up tight this time

Even for the custom roms? I thought the only thing they really beefed up was the bootloader, which shouldn't affect something like this right?!
Sent from my HTC One X using xda app-developers app
You said stock not custom. CleanROM has HTC linkify fixed. Or at least it did at one point...
Sent from my HTC One XL using xda app-developers app
CleanROM and all ROMs based off non-USA carrier bases don't have linkify.
Sent from my HTC One X using Tapatalk 2
Yes I said stock but I thought some of the custom roms were based off of the us versions so they would have had some way to get around it but I guess if they are all based off of versions without linkify to start with that makes sense.

I love my HOX and am curious if I am able to have multiple ROMs at once. Is there an app out there that lists your ROMs and can flash them right there? I realize I'm basically describing what you do in recovery but want a list of your ROMs and want ability to flash without the hassle of recovery. Is this possible?
Thanks so much!

i know the nexus 7 has a dual boot setup for using ubuntu plus android but i dont think there is anything like that for the one x.
Well poop. I've seen boot manager but that's not supported due to no s-off
