There is no way to change the stock one unless you're rooted.
If you are - search in the themes & Apps sub-forum for mods.
If you aren't - either stay with the current or download one of the many 3rd party apps in the market that will add a percentage battery notification.

[Q] Removing numbers in battery icons

With a lot of these ROMs for the Thunderbolt, there are numbers in the battery icon (which I hate). What's the easiest way to remove the numbers and just have the icon?

Look in the themes section, should be a battery icon, of your liking, there that you can flash.
I'm running TeslaCoil 1.5.

Allowed to "Edit" Roms?

I was wondering if it's possible to edit a ROM after download. I'm currently using H3Y3BRIDTH3ORY and I'm not a fan of the circular battery at all, so I was curious if we're "allowed" to edit a ROM to bring it back to the stock battery with percentage and how I'd go about doing that.
you can theme it anyway you want. xpack is working on themes for it currently, you might get with him about it.
Check out UOT kitchen, you can do a lot there, or you can just swap out the icons from a Rom that has stock battery icons on your pc using winrar or 7zip. The battery icons are in framework-res.apk and there are 200 of them.
I tried going there already and was very confused.

[Q] Percent battery in status bar...

I am currently running beta 1 of CleanROM dev edition and don't want to update to 1.0 and have to restore all my apps etc... The only thing I want from the new release is the %battery Mod. I know there are apps that can do that for me, but I don't want more icons in my status bar.
Is there a way to change some files to have the % battery replace the stock icon battery?
If so, what are the files, where are they located?
also, can someone pull the wifi tether mod from that ROM?
Have you used titanium backup for your apps before? It makes flashing new roms less painful.

[Q] %battery

How can I change the battery icon from stock to %?I am on 1.77.708.2(Asia rom)Or can UOT work on stock rom?
also would like to have a % battery icon too
Any type of theming usually requires deodexed apk so since your on stock it won't work. The uot kitchen does not support ics at this time as far as I know. Almost every Rom in the dev section has the % battery mod so that is you easiest route.

Download "notification Toggle". That will give you that option plus many more. Downloadable icons too.
