What do people know about this product? Worth the cheez? Waste of time?
I'd like to put something on my phone until Otterbox arrives.
http://www.htcdepot.com/bodyguardz-protective-skin/4A133A8788.htm
I got one on the backside of my phone.
Definitely has prevented scratching of the plastic piece that covers the battery compartment.
Doesn't cover the silver piece that comes down from the camera in the center.
Best thing we got until a proper case comes out.
I didn't like the front one, though, and used a different, thicker screen protector on the actual screen ( so yea, I bought two sets of screen protectors for one phone...)
I went ahead and purchased a Body Glove from the T-mobile store. They sent me a $25.00 gift card that I used towards the purchase price and I ended up paying about $6.00. It's a 2-piece deal that seems to work pretty well so far. the back cover is a rubberized panel that covers the entire rear half of the phone with a slot that leaves the camera lens exposed. it's thick enough to protect it from scratches assuming you don't keep your keys in the same pocket. The front is just a plastic frame that keeps the screen from touching any flat surface you might lay it on. The whole thing adds just a little weight to the phone and just enough thickness to make it comfortable in your hands too.
I was pretty pleased with the bodyguardz "full" protection I had on my G2. the screen protector itself was pretty awful, but the rest of the cover for the phone was good. (full in quotes because it left a few exposed corners)
I took it off when I sold the G2 and the phone looked brand spankin' new.. so I guess it did its job!
would buy again, although I think I will be okay with just a pouch with this phone.. not too worried about the plastic getting too beat up.
I had some on my Touch pro that I used for several years. The smaller pieces eventually peeled off and or changed color. But it did save my phone from several scratches over the years.
How is the back on that bodyglove case? The one I saw in the online store has a clip on the back. Does that protrude much? The case I bought doesnt offer a whole lot of extra room, and I'm not sure if my phone would fit with this thing on it.
I forgot about the clip-SORRY!!!! There's an option to attach the clip to it but you don't have to. it fits just fine in the pocket
note about the bodyglove- Since I recieved my new Anker battery (awesome so far) I've been having to remove and replace the back cover and I've noticed the grips on the corners have been scratching the phone just underneath the bezel. Not cool man...
Anyone know of a place that sells the piece that says 8mb that is glued to the back cover? Mine came off somewhere
I ordered one off eBay. I just got the whole back cover.
I have "succeded" to break the glass around the back camera of my Razr i. Now I'm looking for a replacement. Does anybody knows where I can find an original replacement for the back cover of the Razr i?
I have purchased one from Aliexpress, but its quality is worst than expected: the exterior bezel around the kevlar plate it's made completely out of plastic, instead of metal and there's no shinny glass around the camera.
So guys, avoid buying back cover replacements from Aliexpres.
What do you think is the better option?
Case and screen protector Or insurance and go naked?
I'm rolling thin TPU case and insurance.
I like this! Considering that I have dust or a defect under my camera lens, I'm going to exchange my phone. But after I get a DE I'll be doing insurance, no sp and spigen case just to preserve edges. If screen breaks, easy deductible.
So incracked the rear glass from a very small drop.. Metal is not bent.. Barely a scratch.
Is the rear glass piece full glass? Or glass over plastic? Is my phone still waterproof?
Assurance says $175 for replace the device... If crack is just esthetics only.. Then I'd just keep it until they have replacement parts.
There's one way to find out for sure
The phone is not waterproof, it is water resistant. If the back glass is cracked, I would expect that the overall integrity is compromised.
I read that back plate is glued,
and there's no way to check whether glue still intact or not.
Well the question reallyis whether the rear piece is fully glass? Or is glass over plastic./metal sheet.. If latter then I'm fine.. If prior.. Then it'll leak under water pressure..
I don't have much on the phone itself.. But id rather not be without a phone until I get replacement.

I'll take my chances but not with a crack seems the internal parts would get wet. Same ip rating as a lifeproof case. "Resistant" or whatever I will take a bath with it. Not because I need to but because i can. Lol
well I"ll be dunking this phone in the water this weekend.. as soon as I get this Note2 backup phone working.

when looking at this video, there seems to be a black film that's the glass is adhered to. it's GS6 but I don't see why it would be any different.
I'm out $175 eithways if this phone dies underwater anyways, but if I can just hold out longer knowing that that it's still going to be "WATER RESISTANT" then I'll just do a rear glass swap myself and save some $$$ and doing a insurance claim.
and here's another example of the "METAL FILM" under the glass

Couldn't wait. Let my son play in the tub with it for about 15min inside the spigen clear case..
Typing on it now..
Did you end up testing it? Was it waterproof after being crack?
Hey guys i fix these phones and the back is just glass but its tempered it has a watedproof adhesive that doesnt let the water go in. I have the same question if it is waterproof or not because the only way to tell if it still is is to submerge it in water it depends on the crack. If you get it changed from a repair shop ur phone wont be waterproof because they dont have the same waterproof adhesive like samsung does
Sadly I dropped mine as well. I could pay $175 for new one through insurance, but I opted paying $80 for a life proof case. I should have got the case in the fist place.
Bump- Can anyone else confirm this?
Mine has been cracked for 2 months now and I haven't gotten it wet really except for wet hands etc.
I feel the same about the factory/OEM adhesive vs aftermarket as there are replacement parts on eBay now.
Any new insight is appreciated

I also broke the front glass .After that i tested it underwater several times .Suprisingly, my s7 edge is still waterproof..So; i can claim that your s7 edge ll be still waterproof until the ruber seal is not broken.
so you're saying that the phone is still waterproof with a rear crack in it???
It all comes down to how big each crack is and where its placed.
repaired device is NOT water-resistant any more

The guy didn't use oem adhesive around the edges of glass and took of the paint which creates a strong bond between the glass and metal frame
Samsung Galaxy S5
For those who still have one, If there is a crack then you should let water come in contact to the phone. I had the bottom of my phone cracked it fell in some water and stopped working the next day. :crying: Don't test the limits on the phone.:good:
I ordered a back on eBay for 6$
Pretty sure it's glass coated in paint ...can't or don't know how to post a pic on here... I have the same problem of cracks .. but I'm opting to fix it my self spent around 25$ for supplies
