i9020a radio 4.1.1

So I've gotten jelly bean installed on my Nexus S, granted I do have the Sprint i9020a CDMA version, I realize no radio was included, however, I flashed the latest radio that I had and JB doesn't see it, I used the i9020a version from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1784497
Is it just that there is a GSM version of the i9020a(didn't think there was) or is there something i'm missing, never had this problem before when flashing roms. Right now it says baseband "unknown". Which is telling me the ROM is only looking for a GSM radio I take it.

i9020A is gsm (the only diff with i9020T is the 850MHz for 3g). there was never an i9020a cdma version. maybe you;re confusing it with nexus S 4G (D720)?

Oh I see, well no I had read that 19020a was Sprint only, didn't know there was a GSM variant :/
So if I flash an AOSP version over this will it be ok? or should I just wipe and start fresh to be safe?
isn't the i9020a an att gsm phone? OP, remove your battery and tell us what it says on the phone itself. I'm thinking, along with others here, that you have the ns4g (d720).

Well, I did that and everything is good, however for some reason Google Play Music, refuses to see my music, and Settings refuses to see my ringtones, etc from the sdcard partition
edit:yes i did a full factory wipe when I installed as well.
I would start by looking through the thread of the rom you flashed. Sounds like you may just need to fix permissions or possibly wipe & reflash

Well this is ROM i'm using, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1763781 and so far I'm not seeing any issue with that. I've done a fix permissions thing, I'll try a reflash and see if that does the trick, not gonna get my hopes up tho...
Edit: Well I've went back to my 4.0.4 version until things get straightened out...to many bugs to work with in these JB ROMS.....

Samsung Galaxy S2 HD LTE SGH-I757M Root and Modem Flashing?

Hello everyone,
My friend (who isn't very experienced with android) wants me to root his Bell Galaxy S2 HD LTE SGH-I757M. The only thread I found about this phone is this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1740188 . My main question though is, Can this phone be converted to work with T-mobile network frequencies like the Skyrocket? I'm assuming that the modems from the T989 and the I727 will work on the SGH-I757M? Any input is greatly appreciated.
thanks
Any one know anything about this phone?
I'm actually looking for these same answers. If i find anything out I will post an update and I hope you will return the favor.
Just searched "i757m" and found this thread at the top of the results.. easy as pie...

that doesnt have anything to do with unlocking the aws bands....
Well, it's just a start as the OP has linked other useful threads in his signature and in post#3. I guess you can PM the OP and/or post in the Q/A section as it seems all i727M discussions are posted on the i9100 board.
I found information on changing the modem, as for unlocking all I had to resort to purchasing an an unlock code.
PM me if you need help rooting and changing modem or anything like that.

Changing Modem on i757m to work with wind mobile or t-mobile
Hello,
Wondering if you can help guide/instruct me on how to change/install a t-mobile modem on my i757m.
Would like to make it work on Wind Mobile or Mobilicity. I did some research and found that t-mobile's samsung note 879's modem can be flashed on my i757m. I tried flashing that modem in ODIN but keep getting fail.
Would you be able to assist me?
Thanks.

Zips aren't flashed in Odin. You flash them in recovery. Do some more reading before you brick your phone

Samsung i757m
Hello and thanks for your reply.
I'm fairly new to Android, switched over from blackberry couple months ago.
Do I have to root the phone before flashing the radio/modem or just flash the zip file in recovery mode through SD card?
Also my i757M is on gingerbread right now, would it make a difference if I flash the modem from t879 from t-mobile?
Please, any help would be appreciated.
Thanks again.

I'd learn how to use odin and then find the ics rom for your device and flash it. Then worry about the modem.

You have twrp or cwm on your phone? Download the modem zip file to your phone. Then flash it with twrp or cwm. You can wipe the caches first if you want but not necessary

You may need to enter your APN settings. By 4G do you mean LTE or HSPA+? Because you should get HSPA normally, or else something went wrong while flashing.

Sprint LTE

I have a new N5 and its unlocked and rooted. I get LTE just fine on the stock rom but when I flash any custom roms, LTE doesn't work. Even when I restore my backed up EFS on the custom rom, LTE still doesn't work. Anytime I nandroid back to my stock rom, LTE works fine. Any ideas or help will be appreciated.

Did you flash Sprint software? It could be the APN.

I think there's some extra APKs you need to add to custom ROMs.
I fixed the issue. I unrooted and returned my phone back to stock. Then I found a sprint. Zip that you flash with custom roms and that worked.

There is no custom sprint software this is a Google phone.

Its a zip to flash after roms that sets the correct APN settings for sprint. I can't remember the thread I found it in though. But it was for the same issue I was having with my LTE/3g switching.

The reason I am searching through posts is this: my 3G works fine. But when it kicks over to LTE... Nothing happens... In a minute or two I may get 4 mbs or something pretty good and then nothing again. I need it to actually work. My wife has the same issue on her S4 and she is stock. It switches over to LTE.... Nothing. I have LTE off mostly. Steady slow 3g is better than no progress on LTE.
update profile
Should provide the correct settings in the custom Roms assuming the creator added the update profile features. I know cm does
