[Q] bluetooth sound quality - AT&T, Rogers HTC One X, Telstra One XL

after root & unlock i have Bluetooth sound quality issues ....any suggestions ? thx

Did you flash a ROM? Simply rooting and unlocking should have no impact on that.

tried couple different rom's right now i'm on clean rom

What do you mean by sound quality issues? Like is there a lot of noise, sound distorted, low volume, etc?
I'm on CleanROM Developer Edition 3.1.1 and I'm having no BT sound issues and I use it in my car with a Samsung BT adapter (with Apt-X)

obvious troll is obvious

thanks , i switch to clean rom 4.0 an everythings run nice now , before everybody on the other end was complaining about sound quality ...

3.5 headphones jack issue

Is the headphone issue Rom related or a hardware issue. I am referring to music skipping and random voice dialing when standard headphones are being used(without Mic). Happens with DHD roms and cm7...not sure if this happens with stock (its been a while since I have been stock) .

On stock rom no root and none of those problems i use two different types of headphones one with mic and one without. *shrugs* so not hardware? rom issue sounds like. how many of the new roms support the multiplug 3.5 head jack?
I actually ran in to this issue the other day when I was running with it for the first time. The music player went insane and i think it called someone. Sig is current with my build.

Phonecall microphone boost?

Hi friends, I read a few threads about people complaining about poor microphone quality in phone calls. Well, even I am having the same issue, don't know if this is because of custom roms or what.
Also I noticed that, sensation has a two extra mics around camera, one near speaker and other two at bottom. But these extra mics seems to only work while recording videos. I have done some comparisons and Well sense/stock HTC camera records videos with excellent audio quality but when I'm on cm7 or miui the audio quality in video seems pretty average. Similarly when I was in cm7 Rom i never had people complaining about low microphone output. But on sense roms I have every caller asking me to speak more louder. So the point is, is there any mod or any dev can mod the sensation microphone to boost microphone gain? Maybe a fix for this in sense rom.
People, I would like to know your experiences too if you noticed the differences in other roms.

I have a similar problem. I tried a lot of ROMs on Android 4.0.3 and all-in microphone is very quiet! So far as I am suffering and I hope there will soon fix it.

Same problem with my device. The phone is good for everything else except phone calls. I have complains to speak louder, also network coverage sucks. I've changed a lot of roms and kernels, but it's all the same. Maybe the phone is meant to as it should on 4G networks, I'm currently using on 2G GSM network.
If someone comes up with a solution, please PM. Thanks

[Q] Terrible sound quality (CM10.1)

I just got my first android phone, the inspire 4G, and after some problems with temproot (which i finally found a fix to) got it perm rooted. Anyway i installed the unofficial CM 10.1 JB rom, and copyed my music to my 8GB msd card using adb push from PC (dont have a card reader yet...) anyway, using apollo, while the low end sounds about normal through my earphones, the louder mid ends and all high ends sound really tinny and harsh...and this is comping from compressed MP3s from itunes on an old iphone. I didnt even expect BETTER sound but i at least expected the same, but its impossible to listen to my music the way it sounds right now.
I found a beats audio installer for root in the play store, but IDK if it works for this rom yet and i dont really have the space to make a backuip of the rom right now. (getting my 16 GB card in a few days).
I was wondering if anyone else had this issue. what can be done to rectify this? its definitely not the music files that sound fine on my PC or my earphones that worked fine with my iPhone (which died spectacularly and i never want another again, especially seeing how open a rooted android is)-and they work fine with my PC too.
So what do you guys think? id post it in the CM thread but you need 10 posts apparently to post in development.
EDIT: just to make sure its clear, this is sound quality through my HEADPHONES, not complaints of the cheap built in speaker.
Non GB sense roms have this issue on the inspire. The best you can do is flash inspiremod 5 but even then it won't sound the best it could. If you are really into listening to music then just stick with sense gingerbread roms. Some may not agree but I can always tell the difference in sound quality.

Sounds like what im gonna do. no toys get between me and my music no matter how cool.
Would be nice to hear of some attempts to fix it, but right low looks like im back to gingerbread.
flashed android revolution 7.1, and sound quality is fantastically better. thanks!
I am using the mod and haven't noticed a huge degrade except when listening to really high quality mp3s. I think it is listenable. I have never used quality head phones, are you using regular ones or a nice pair?

Increases audio volume

Sorry if this has been asked before, I did have a bit of a search and could not find a direct answer.
So far I am loving my nexus 5, currently using the latest build of omni rom. However I would like to increase the volume output as even with my BT headphones on max it is just not loud enough when there is a bit of ambient noise, for example when I am at the gym, the main time I use my phone as audio device.
I have seen some kernels that mention sound related things but have no idea what is best or if it actually does what I want? Could someone recommend some options for me please?
Also what is everyones thoughts on the quality of the audio output in general? I have come from a One X+ and so far I feel that my old handset may have been better but without a more controlled side by side test this is just speculation really.
Anyway thanks in advance!
I don't think there's much you can do if you're using Bluetooth. Afaik this isn't controlled by the kernel, rather the bluetooth stack itself.

nexus 5 real audio booster app(root required) https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.n5rvb.nexus5realvolumebooster
this app works great! you chose in the app just how much you want to increase your volume, the app creates a flashable zip, you flash that zip in recovery, and you boot up louder
Thanks for the replies, I did wonder whether because I was outputting audio via BT it would complicate things. Will try the app though and hopefully will sort it out!

Bluetooth audio is terrible on stock ROMs. Help?

Hey, guys. I would *LOVE* to use a stock KitKat ROM variant on my Note 3, as it performs better and has some more useful features than what comes with CM11. However, I'm forced to use CM11 because my Bluetooth headphones (Jaybird Bluebuds) sound awful under stock. Everything sounds compressed and high notes in particular sound undersampled and robotic.
I've tried replacing the Bluetooth stack with the same one used in CM and AOSP ROMs to no avail, and I can't seem to find any settings that help with this issue.
Is anyone else having the same problem?
Having the same problem with my portable speaker. I've been searching for a solution with no avail.
I'm thinking of reporting this to samsung, but I don't know how.

My problem is the other way around, great sound on stock but my bluetooth speaker makes hissing and popping sounds with cm.
