Is there a way to have this ported to the Hero? These are the best icons I have seen in Android so far (imho)
Mayb with some resizing the icons can b used in one of the roms 4 the hero
Sent from my HERO200 using XDA App
Well afaik the icons are changed by changing the apk and resigning. I don't know how to change the icons in the apk or resign, so I don't know how to do this... if someone were to do this, they could just make it a flashable zip to change the icons on almost any ROM (with the apps)
could ask him. Konib used to dev for the Hero
It would look better and take way less time if you either asked konib to do it or asked to have his originals so you could port it. Resizing indexed .pngs from higher resolution to lower resolution makes them look like crap. (not all but a lot of them)

How can you say its not even close to being true when Im sitting here staring at a GPS icon I took from the Droid X resized it to 25x25 and there are a few pixels that are out of place? Unless I'm doing it wrong... even then its still close to being right. And how can porting a theme from a higher res theme not be time consuming?

You're right. Theres no argument about the the depreciation of images when resizing. They get compressed. Its not a matter of opinion, or conjecture, its fact. If you are able to refute this, let me know.
Well to correct everyone, resizing will remove some of the clarity of the image. Scaling the image down will preserve the clarity to do this we start with a 38x38 image create a new blank 25x25 and paste the image in, then use transform to shrink the image down. This actually scales the full image to size. That is for photoshop . Fireworks also can accomplish this very well . This is just my experience after 7 years of PhotoShop

I have most of the icons resized. I can't finish until later today. I just have a couple to finish and put them into the apk's and make a flashable zip or I can create a metamorph file.

Metamorph please I have better luck with them not messing with any of my other mods.
I did what I could for now. I will make both a flashable zip and a metamorph theme. I haven't made a metamorph theme since they changed the program, but I should have something up either tonight or in the morning. And I am putting the icons in both the HTC apps(HTC dialer, mail, messaging) as well as the AOSP apps, because I am not sure who uses what.

Awesome
I love the look of the icons, reminds me of WP 7 (which I think looks gorgeous)
I had some problems with some of them. I will have them on here before Noon tomorrow.
Here you go. I am reflashing a sense rom and then going to flash this again and see what needs to be worked on

the morph file works beautifully with MIUI and i'm sure it works on other AOSP ROMS.
Ok, someone make this work for Sense roms, since they are sorely lacking in transitions.
confirmed working on nexus
Good Post!
Nice post, I already got the files from the EVO thread and love it! The people using my theme love it too! Try it out, it's worth it!
Awesome! Working on my Sense rom as well. Although some screen transitions stay stock but the menu transitions are changed.
Here are the steps I took, in case someone wants to know:
- Download your prefered animation type. Get it from here. It is actually a zip of the anim folder.
- Extract your rom's framework-res.apk or any custom framework-res.apk you've made already (eg. UOT Circle zips)
- Replace the /res/anim/ folder with your chosen transition anim folder. Save the edited framework-res.apk
- create an update zip from the new framework-res.apk. I used this nifty program. The easiest way I did was to replace the framework-res.apk in a UOT circle update zip and resign it.
- Go into recovery and flash your update zip. You might want to wipe dalvik cache first.
- Reboot and enjoy.
Wow, thats really cool! I like it.
It works on the actual enomthers ROM.
So far my favourite is the Flip. The fold has nice menu effects but I think it's a tad too slow for me.
You can mix and match the xml files from different animation styles but I think it will look too messy with no consistency in effects.
i agree, reminds me of compbiz fusion on Linux. i'm surprised noone else posted these. glad i beat everyone to it

I think, this is a known problem with metamorph.
Go to recovery, reflash your rom.
You didn't loose your data and settings.
And then try it again.
Never check the button "disable startup check " in metamorph and set the applying speed to 4200.
It will work on your phone.

those are default Galaxy S/Vibrant sounds. go download a ROM from the vibrant forums, find the sound file is system/media/audio/ui, change it to Effect_Tick.ogg and move it to same folder on your phone through ADB or SU file browser
just cropped the one from our CM9 DP. change desc.txt from 1280x800 to 1024x600. Also manually resized all images from 1280x800 to 1024x640(to preserve aspect ratio) Works beautifully.
place in /data/local/ with permissions rw-r--r--
and will override, anything in /system/media.
I might do a portrait version if anyones interested.
There is another CM9 boot animation thread, that has all phone and tablet sizes, however i tried 1024x600 and 600x1024 and both did not fit right.
enjoy!
This should work for any tab plus with bootanimation.zip support.
Link would help, huh? : http://db.tt/Cpo9Zgiw
We're using the 1024x600 bootimage provided by CM, see:
https://github.com/alanorth/android_device_samsung_p6200/blob/ics/BoardConfig.mk#L27
Having said that, I've always thought the CM9 boot image looked a bit "off" on our tablet. I can't put my finger on it, though. Maybe it's the aspect ratio? I'll try this boot image if I can remember to get around to it.
btw, I guess CM might make a new boot image anyways, as the boot image has the OLD Andy, and now all CM stuff should be "Cid"
edit: You're right, this one is much better. I'd encourage you to submit your modified one to Gerrit, but again I feel that we'll probably see a Cid-based bootanimation soon...

I sucessfully installed jellybean but I can't seem to change the lcd density..
I have in my build.prop ro.sf.lcd_density=160 and nothing happens.. I still have it set to the original, 240.
I noticed theres a new options in jellybean's build.prop ro.sf.override_null_lcd_density=1, I commented this out and also set it to 0, but still no go.
Any ideas? I've tried various apps and they all have no effect
uh, I may be wrong, but how is you changing a setting going to have a physical change on the hardware that's in your tablet?

It's NOT a physical change - Changing the LCD DPI Density has been a method used on most versions of Android for years. What rock have YOU been under?
Yep. Same here. Can't find a way to get 160 back to life.
This is pretty much a worst thing Asus could do to us. Or is it JB thing?
Don't know, but i'll try to find a solution to this as i just can't look at 240 density after using 160 for so long.
Oversized icons are really not nice :cyclops:
Hmm this might have something to do with my sensitivity issues too. Before in a certain game I could rapidly tap a button and it would go through. Now on JB it's not registering my rapid taps and I have to tap slower. Looking all over the place for a solution!

I'm on CM 10(JB 4.1.1.) and DPI change works through the build.prop without any problems. I wonder if Asus did something to block this in latest update..
Could it be related to the kernel not supporting it?
I mean, they probably changed kernel, so maybe they didn't include this in the final release.
Why is beyond me and my understanding of their logic.
I hope this is not the case.
hm.. this is hard to get used to 240 again. i hope theres a way around this

Could you please explain me-a-noob, what's so shocking about the different DPI? I thought the DPI by default remained "at its best setting". Apparently it is not...
Why would ASUS set the DPI in a way, which would not use the full potential of the screen?

It tricks Android into making each pixel smaller. Which means all your icons, text, etc shrink on the screen. This gives you more room on your screen and makes mostly everything look a hell of a lot better. If you do a search for DPI on the general forum, you will find a thread about DPI with screen shots that show you the difference.

Why not just try out a custom Rom? At the Moment Baked BlackBean 4 and unofficial CM10 10/1 versions work very well and give you all kinds of settings and tweaks to work with as well as theme chooser. The only thing that isn't working (well or at all) is GPS and I expect that will be fixed in short order, now that the official TF700 JB update is out.

Don't get me wrong, I used CM9 on my TF101 and use it on my phone, BUT I like a stable ROM with barely any noticable issues as I really do use just about everything on my devices, including the GPS. For now, until the custom roms make a bit more headway, I'm not going to switch.
Any luck?
Bump on this topic, no go on lcd mods in build.prop
REALLY would like to go back to 160...i may downgrade if there is no workaround...
I can also confirm lcd changer apps dont work either, got soft brick with one and the others didnt change anything
Agreed, any news?
Has anyone contacted Asus about it and asked?
Or, has anyone tested DPI changes on other Jelly Bean devices such as the Nexus 7 and seen if it works there (which would indicate Asus intentionally disabled it)?

Thanks for this bootanimation it is really nice. However my TF700T is a little different to the specs listed in the animation so I would like a version for 64GB internal storage and also for Android 4.3 rather than 4.2.1.
Is there any chance you could post resources you used to make this (PSD's or XCF's etc) to allow these small adjustments to be easily made? Alternatively if you would make a version of the animation with these adjustments it would be much appreciated.
Thank You a lot

Hey mate, i made a cromi boot animation a while ago but never put it together, i made it mainly to test out my wildly overclocked FX-8350's rendering capabilities, but maybe you would like to use it.
Heres a preview:
I randomly found the files on my dropbox https://www.dropbox.com/s/jw2f1qupc5itr02/Cromi(jpeg).rar i rendered them do a jpeg as i wanted to keep size to a minimum, The files in the "ToBeLooped" were meant to be looped at the end but i couldnt remember how to do it..
Not my best but someone might like it
