I've already posted a thread on this awhile ago, with no luck to finding a solution! Randomly my apps get uninstalled without me doing so. I don't relize its even fond till I to use the app and its not there. Has anyone ever heard of this happening and how to fix it. Or a setting that could be causing this issue. Been happening for awhile now.
Any help would be appreciated and thanked
I have never heard of this happening before.
Question, is it just recent apps you may have installed? Do apps you install go missing after a reboot?
Have you done anything... "interesting" to your phone? (rooting and recovery are interesting, just in case you need a metric)
The only times I have seen something like this is when apps automatically get installed on sd card. after a reboot, they weren't moved correctly so they "magically disappear". Check if they are on sd, card
Sent from my SGH-T769 using Tapatalk 2
You can also try going to recovery and fix permissions and then reboot
I've never heard of such an issue of applications automatically uninstalling themselves. So, you download an app from the Play Store, then reboot, and its gone? You should try a factory reset / returning back to stock, thats what I'd do.

By any chance are you using link2sd?

I've had this happen to me too. I couldn't find the app icon and when I tried to reinstall it asked me if I would like to replace existing application. As someone said before it can be an app2sd issue.
Sent from my SGH-T769 using xda premium
I personally have never had that happen with my Blaze. Every app I've ever loaded on there stays.
I know this might be somewhat of a longshot but if you're saving your apps to your microSD card you might want to either check out the card to see if its corrupted. That might be the problem.

This has happened to me, too. Just yesterday I noticed my facebook app was nowhere to be found.
I am using the latest dknight rom with Go Launcher. Other than the Go Launcher, I have not tweaked anything else, nor have I moved any apps to the SD card.

I know that problem, too. But this's happened in the past. What've I do ?
Odin stock ROM, reboot. Odin Recovery, reboot.
After that, unmount USB Storage in Setting. Try to format USB storage ( do it 3 times ) and mount again
Power off. Go to recovery, do exactly everythings in erikmm's thread. Reboot and the issue are solved
If this problem happen again because App install in SD Card. Try to unmount SDcard and factory reset

Hi. May i ask you if your problem soumds like mine? Where ur apps are? in the phone memory or on sd? I install some application via the play store and after a while, an hour sometimes even a day those app will disappear by themselves , and i'm not talking about the icon but the full app, and in the meantime a warning came out from the navigation bar saying "the app xxx has been removed" because if your problem looks like mine the solution may be the same. Note that one of mine apps has been saved on the sd. In case your problem looks like mine can u please tell me the step you've made in the most easy way. I have to translate ur information in italian language and i want to be sure to understand the whole procedure.
Thx. P.s. which is the erikmm tread u r referring to? May u please copy and paste it for me?

Thanks for the reply. I've just tried that and it still does not work.
Did you do anything with titanium backup when you switched roms? Or do anything with CWM?

No. I'm using Odin to install the roms. Any other solutions?
I know this has to be a common problem. Whenever I click "ok" to download an app from the market, it says "Install", but it is greyed out. When I attempt to install an app from my sd, it just says "installing", but the app never installs..
So, I have figured out what went wrong just in case anyone comes across the same problem. It was my SD card. After reformatting my SD card, the downloads work perfectly.

Hello fellow DC owners. I have a question. When I reboot my phone, more often than not, the SD card is not read and thus all of the apps on the SD card are shown as not being installed. When this happens they are also missing from my market (except if they were purchased then it shows just that). The only fix for this that I've found is to remove the SD card reboot without it then reinstall it and reboot again. The unmount SD card option in the settings doesn't work at all. It hangs up. I have tried all of the repitable SD mounting Widgets I can find to no avail. For my launcher I am using GO Launcher and I love it.
If there is any help you can give I'd appreciate it.

never heard of this happening before... you may need to make copies of everything you have on there and format it then it should read it correctly, also does it read fine in your pc or another phone?
yes the SD card is good had it on motodroid before this checked it on pc also. This happened after EE4 build. Even tried reformat and factory reset to no avail. For several months I just moved all apparently to phone and used SD for photos and downloads. Bit ran low on memory which caused more problems.

I've had the opportunity to play with CWM on a Hercules phone the last couple days and it reminds me how much I like being able to fix permissions and navigate the internal SD card, etc. Things you can't do with CWM for Skyrocket.
Anyone know if this is being worked on at all?
We have a fully functional CWM...
Tapped through cyberspace through the use of a mobile device connected to hexagonal cells
Our fix permissions doesn't work at all, lol. And I didn't even know CWM can navigate through the internal SD... As far as I know, no... We have CWM, yes, but not all of its functions work properly.

We use the T-Mobile CWM. And it cannot format internal SD card or properly fix permissions. Probably a few other things I can't think of right now.

For some (I guess depending on the ROM) it does fix permissions, for others it doesn't. ROM manager is the same way. For me, ROM manager errored out on the stock (rooted) ROM when trying to fix permissions, but CWM did it fine.
CWM says it's fixing permissions but it doesn't. It's something that should take a few minutes to do. Not a few seconds.

When I was on the stock ROM, it did take a while, not just a few seconds. Things don't always work the same way for everyone with this phone. Your experience may not have been the same as mine.
I'm assuming Fix Permissions is working
it takes about 5 minutes and there's a whole lot of scrolling text going on. Something is happening...
I've never had that problem with multiple roms, including TPC, Sky ics and others. Sounds like u only have a partial flash, try reflashing completely though odin

Sounds like it's definitely working for you.
But it doesn't work for a lot of people.
I've flashed multiple CWM's including the Odin version. It's never worked on me, but I never paid attention to which one I've tried it on.
Then there is still the issue with it not working properly with internal SD card.
you may want to check for update on cwm.
fix permission did not work b4 but does now.

Hi.
I have just flashed Zeus 6 today all the way from stock. Everything was going great.
After this, I decided to enable lagfix by going to CWM and enabling it from there. After it booted, though, ALL MY SDCARD APPS ARE MISSING. Applications such as Superuser and Android Market. So I then disabled lagfix and it still wasn't working. I can't even use Root Explorer as I don't have Superuser.
I can see the blank icons of the applications that are missing in my apparently drawer, but when I click them, it says "Application is not installed on your phone."
SOMEONE HELP PLEASE!
Sounds like you need to edit your vold.fstab file. Have you checked to see if the sdcard is actually mounted?
Search vold.fstab, you'll find the answer.
Where can I get the vold.fstab file from?
And what do I need to do with it? I can't seem to find anything?
Also, it was working fine when I reflashed Zeus 6. After a while, though, I rebooted my phone after installing all the apps I needed to install. After that, it went back to the problem again.
I am really getting pissed right now with my phone.
[Update] I found a vold.fstab but what do I do with it? And is it 100% sure that this problem came from the unsuccessful mounting of internal SD card? I'm really really ticked off at the moment. I'm sorry.
If you do a search for vold.fstab you'll find what needs to be edited.
I just copied the vold.fstab to the /etc folder and the problem still persists.
Is there any other cause that would've ****ed my phone up?
Also, from my understanding, the vold/fstab fixes external SD card problems and not internal. I don't know, though.
I am really desperate at the moment.
[Edit] ****. After doing the vold.fstab replacement, my external SD card won't even get detected anymore.
The issue that you describe isn't related to the vold.fstab fix. You're correct that making the mmc1 edit is only necessary if you can't see your external sd after making a kernel swap.
When you go to settings / sd card and phone storage, what do you see? Is your 13.03 partition visible? What else is visible?
Edit: And yeah, if you changed the vold.fstab like the others suggested, you need to change the mmc1 in the last line back to mmc2.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I997 using Tapatalk 2
Yes. When I look at my USB storage, it says 13.03 total space. I realized that whenever I clear the data and/or reflash, I lose the problem.
But as soon as I start installing stuff, that's when it gets ****ed. I reboot and *boom* all my SD card apps are all just blank icons that when clicked, gives you the error "Application is not installed on your phone"
PS Can someone give me the very default vold.fstab file? This new one ****ed my memory card up and I don't know how to change the mmc1 to mmc2 as I literally just copied and pasted the file into the /etc directory.

You can edit the vold.fstab file by using a program like ES File Explorer or Root Explorer. Using the program, mount the /system/etc directory as read/write. Then, use the built in text editor to change the last line. In this case, for your setup, the last line is supposed to end with mmc2.
To fix your initial problem.: Go ahead and first fix your newly created vold.fstab problem. Then, in Settings / SD card and phone storage, choose format usb storage for the 13.03 gb partition. Let it format, and then go to Settings / Privacy / Factory data reset. Choose "Reset phone".
You'll have to reinstall your apps. Let us know if things are back to normal after doing this. If this doesn't get it, I have another step for you to try.
I have fixed the external SD Card issue. Thanks so much!
I just did the Data reset and currently reinstalling apps and report what happens.
I will keep you posted
Okay so I just reinstalled everything and rebooted and it was all perfect.
This happened to me a while ago while I rebooted like twice and then the problem came back.
I will post here ASAP if it comes back again, but so far it's looking good.
In any case, I am just really curious (if your method actually worked). What would have been wrong before that caused the problems? Also, I did wipes in CWM before and the problem was gone as well, but when I installed apps and rebooted, the problem went back again. So what is the difference between restoring from Settings>Privacy as opposed to the Data wipe on CWM?

Now, hold the bus. If you see and can use your apps, then it worked. What do you mean, "if your method actually worked"?
Also, I hope that after you reboot, that you are giving your phone time to scan the sd cards. Within the first few minutes after the phone boots, apps on the sd card won't be available.

Factory reset just wipes user data / installed programs and puts you back to default. Did you also format the 13.03 gb partition like I recommended?
Try to steer clear of any mods for a few days, until you're sure that it's fixed. And stay away from those porn sites.
I have done everything you have said on the dot. It's working fine at the moment and I've been trying to reboot every once in a while to see if it is set.
Also, the problem started when I tried to enable Voodoo lagfix and that was when it started acting up. Next time I restored, it was when I tried using Voltage Control. I really don't know what the problem was. It is a ***** for sure, though.
I also made /mnt/sdcard/Applications and /mnt/sdcard/Android/Applications. I don't know if these would've made an effect, but it's working fine at the moment.
Lastly, I knew Jizzhut was ****ed

Normally you can clear caches and it will work otherwise uninstall the app and reinstall. If you have to uninstall make a data backup first. What it equates to is the app dev didnt put a call in to remove the app prior to installing the new version. Ive run into this with Plague Inc. and Ive sent a bug report to the app dev. I suggest the same for whatever app you are having issues with.
I've tried the whole "clear your caches and fix your permissions" thing, and, at least from what I can tell, you can't install anything through Play/Market unless you have at least ~55 MB of space available (even if you are installing to microSD or replacing a currently installed app). I'm not sure quite where the threshold is, but it is somewhere around there.
I can't answer "Why?" as it is in Google proprietary code and I don't have the source available.

Have you cleared data from Google Services Frameworks? That has fixed every market issue I've ever run into. If jeff is saying it's coded to not let you install with under 55mb of space left I believe him though.
I can't be sure it's "coded that way," but I haven't found a way to get Play/Market to install when I get down somewhere below 60 MB free space, including flashing a new ROM, clearing cache, fixing permissions, reinstalling gapps, and probably a few other things I've tried. There are definitely days when I wish someone would prove my theory wrong!
I believe Jeff no doubt but I have 66.1mb available..

This worked for me, thank you !!
I was having trouble installing UberSocial. I could download and install every other app (smaller and bigger in file size) except for UberSocial.
Tried the Lucky Patcher method and worked like a charm.
BTW, I should mention I have a rooted S3 but found this thread via Google .
The Jelly bean rom takes up a lot internal memory, plus it installs most of the apps from the market to the internal memory instead of SD card. I don't why, maybe the devs can answer this. I had to remove the xbmc app (97mb) in order to install anything else.
Hit the thanks button if it helps. It's my motivator to be more helpful.
I use Titanium to move all data apps to SD, I also use History Eraser before updating apps so that at all times I have over 110MB free on internal mem.
