anyone know a domestic HTC number that works? I haven't searched, and I'm sure it won't be hard to find, but if someone knows of the number off hand, it would be helpful. Thanks
Interesting I haven't had that problem at all. Does it do that with other earbuds? Could be the phone.
I would totally just try a different set of earbuds or headphones...
And not worry about getting a replacement from HTC. Maybe let them know of the problem, but a pair of crappy replacement buds to replace crappy earbuds definitely don't sound like a good idea to me, may as well upgrade them.
I don't get shocked with my bose earphones, but I like the music control. Guess I won't earphone when the phone is plugged in.
Those aren't headphones those are the HTC taser rods.Once people realize how much your phone costs you're going to need them.
Next time read the manual.

Lmao. I wish my phone came with a user manual on how to use my taser rods.
I don;t know how you guys are getting these earphones in your ears, they're huge
Mine sound like the speakers are blown out. It rattles when there's bass.
My friend was listening to one earbud and I the other. She jumped and complained of getting shocked but I felt nothing. Later that night at work I had them in and got shocked after a while as well.
yea, i get shocked too when i am listening with the headphones but only on the right ear bud and not the left. but when i hold the line it seems to ground it and i dont get shocked anymore
just a little annoying when it happens

Agreed, They are quite painful to use. I use either my Koss sparkplug, or Sony in-ear earbuds. These help with the audio/video/youtube media with low volume too.
LOL i was like wtf, when first got shocked! it does it all the time, only in the right bud though, never the left...
Sick earphones
awkward.... i find the stock earphones fine! ^_^ tested on phone and on good sound card. bass is fine for stock. and no distortion at high volume! ( thats also tested with the phone and soundcard from laptop). Fits like a glove should fit. Lovin it. as to getting shocked lmao.... I've yet to wait and feel.
My heaphones sound great as well. I called HTC and they know about the problem but supposedly they don't have any replacements yet, that I should try again at another date to see if there is a replacement. I kept the number, its not found on their website so I figured I will bother them again one day.
Have you tried having the phone plugged in while you listen to the music? works like a charm for me...a sadistic charm....
I was getting shocked for a while before realizing that it all depended on where I placed my phone while using the headphones. When they were in my gym pants/shorts they would shock me due to the static electricity. I haven't had any problems with jeans, etc. I think polyester is the culprit.
HTC apparently is no longer replacing headphones. I've had a ticket in with them for a solid week now with absolutely no updates from HTC.
Does anyone know where to get headphones with next/play/prev buttons and a mic?
I can find plenty with JUST play/pause, but pretty much NONE with prev/play/next and microphone!
It seems the Desire uses the same headphones, so I thought maybe I could find those, but they pretty much do not exist online. Going nuts here! I use these things every day, it's such a bummer. I'm using my old ipod headphones now but the sound quality is utter garbage and theres no play controls.
Have you tried calling them? I just called them this afternoon and told them my battery was going bad and that i "misplaced" my earphones. After a few minutes of chat chtting, they're sending me a replacement battery and earphones.
I've talked to them three times now, they just keep saying it should be happening and they don't know why it's not. They never give me a tracking number or anything. It's like stuck in limbo.
It doesn't even matter. I don't care if they are free or even if they are HTC... it's the functionality I'm after!!
whats wrong with them?
Mine actually doesn't work, the buttons don't respond, and the mic doesn't work either..
is this an issue that was going around?
My buttons don't work and the left ear piece quit as well. Only a couple months use!
I lost mine last week, I called them and they sent me a replacement, they arrived in 72 hours.
W.T.F. sigh. Why is it I always have to spend at least 10 hours to get anything done over a phone support line.
Bose Mobile In-Ear Headset. Best sound quality and comes with microphone, play/pause, and I think a double click goes to next song.
Expensive but worth it. Google it or search Bose online.

If you looking to buy a expensive pair, then these are the best Etymotic HF2 High Fidelity Headphones.
The problem is I want high quality but I also want earbud because I need to be able to pause and talk to people without taking them out of my ears. I know earbud and quality don't go together, but the HTC earbuds that came with the phone are honestly some of the best earbuds I've ever heard. Far and away better than the garbage buds that comes with Apple's electronics, and better than most aftermarket ear buds too.
Buy this one, and put normal headphones in this one.

I personally think the stock headphones with the Android characters look a little silly, which is why I never opened my headphones when I got my N1. But that's just a personal preference. If it were me, I'd get and use something else other than the stock headphones.
finally found them. http://www.expansys-usa.com/d.aspx?i=192376 these should be the same ones that shipped, but without the android logo on the side. instead they say "HTC Innovation".
Nevermind, they aren't the same. They are precisely alike except the next/prev buttons do not work. Thanks for making all of your identical **** work together, HTC.

The sku.33718 do not work on my Nexus One. Just got one. The cable is somewhat on the thick side and the control panel is also big. Either they don't work or my phone is defective.
My stock headphones are not able to pause/play or answer calls. This happen about a month ago.
I think I'm going to try and get HTC to send me new stock headphones. If the replacements don't work, then the problem is with my phone...either software or hardware related.
Also the MW600 is pretty much out of stock in the USA. I'm thinking of importing as it is very important to me to be able to stop/start/play/answer my phone without taking it out of my pocket.
I've been having the same problems. None of my buttons work, the left earbud's quit on me, and they keep shocking me. HTC won't respond to a support request (I got this replacement back in February.), and I've tried calling them about it.
Cant' find OEM's online either, anyone had luck since?
I don't know if you ever got this resolved, but I actually had lost my headset that i had with my N1 and when I called they had no problem helping me and sent me a new pair within four days at no cost to me. I'm very happy with them. This took place around the 25th of April and I received them about the 29th or 30th.
htc replaced mine.
I called today to replace mine. They actually and I quote said.. " I'm surprised they lasted u this long".. they replace no charge for shipping or anything..

Hi,
does anyone use headphones other than the provided ones, and with microfone, volume and track control?
Thank you.
Best regards.
any comment here... is LG compatible with some other brand like Sony, iPhone, Samsung or Nokia?
Yeah, I'd like to know that too. It would be nice to have these controls.
Well, i can report that the Sony Ericsson handset that i have doesnt work, the iPhone headset mic doesnt seem to work either but the buttons kind of do.
currently using Nokia Bluetooth Stereo Headset BH-503 on my optimus
I've been testing some nokia in-ear headphones i had , but they doesn't work properly, you can listen only one channel, if you press and hold the button you can listen in stereo.
I lost my favorite headphones, so i've been using the stock ones.
I'm surprised, they are not that bad.
I find that they dont fit in your ear properly, but that could be just me since I've been using in-ear for the past few years.

lg headphones dont fit in my ears too.. sound quality is acceptable but they are uncomfortable
I Got In-Ears!
Indian package has IEM's!
Are comfortable and have good noise isolation too. But just have one button. So track change is possible but not volume change.
Sound Quality is surprisingly good. Low frequencies are punchy. I use them regularly. They seem to be made for each other as high end IEM's are not good for O1. Show up the deficiencies in the output of the Device!
Any guesses to how long the battery will last for music playback?
I think it can go like 20-30 hrs with other radio functions minimized.

I just hazarded a guess as to what the backup might be with the radios turned off. It may well be beyond 40 hrs with that monster of a battery.
As for sound quality i use PowerAMP. Allows me to tweak the sound a bit with the EQ.
And what i mean abt high end IEM was that they are useless on O1 as teh O1 itself does not output audiophile quality sound. So if someone needs absolute quality, they may do well to look at Cowon's range of PMP's but for a daily use mp3 player, O1 is good. I anyway dont like carrying my expensive IEM on overcrowded public transport. Too much snagging of wires has me concerned!

Why is LG partial to India! I mean its not like the earbuds are a big, expensive add-on. They could have just as easily added them to the world wide packages. From what i know the world packages dont contain the pouch too.
Then again, you guys get the phone for free or for $30US odd(or is it contract free in Romania?). While here its contract free and for $260US.
Anyway, its good for LG to setup the phone and package in a manner taht the end user can directly use teh phone. Screen protector applied, check. Pouch, check. 2Gb card, check. Decent earphones, check!
Thank you LG!

I got mine at about $12 for a two year contract at $21/month. It's cheaper than what i was paying before and i got a great phone almost for free so i'm not really complaning about the accesories.
i poured water on my headphones and the left earpiece stopped working .
i tried claiming with warranty but they said they need verify my phone(void delta xD).
i shelled out 10$ for another pice of crap

After checking this headset out on the internet I got one too, thanks for the tip! It works perfectly, sound quality is awesome, it is extremely comfortable.
There are just two things which I need to figure out:
1. How to switch off the annoying blue LED indicator light while using it? It is so annoying when you are sitting on a bus, or on some other public transport and it lits up every couple of seconds. I hate it. I painted it black, put ducktape on it, but it is still visible.
Do you know if there is a way to turn this off somehow?
2. Can you use your P500 to do voice activated dialling with the headset? I tried pushing the multifunction button for a couple of seconds but than it turns off. If i press it once, it just beeps but nothing happens. If i press it twice after each other it dials the last number.
Can the P500 and android 2.2 in general do voice dialing?
Other than these two issues, I strongly recommend this headset for anyone, they are absolutely fantastic!
Peace
I'm also looking for a replacement for the bundled IEMs. Two things I dislike about them are - 1. The sound feels muddy/overwhelming bass compared to the Soundmagic PL11 I possess & 2. The mic has that teeny weeny flimsy button.
I considered the ME Electronics M2p M9p etc., the Soundmagic MP21 but they too seem to have that flimsy mic module as well. I'd prefer IEMs to headphones because of the portability offered by the former.
So can anyone suggest something along these lines? Maybe there is an adapter, or a Sony/Nokia mic module with a 3.5mm jack which will work? Thanks a lot.
PS - I'm from India & my budget is ~1500 INR
I bought Plantronics 216 In ear, but mic is not working and volume keys neither. Track control is working well and sound quality is good too, though.

Last night I bought the klipsch image s4i. The package says that it is only compatible with iPhone. I was able to get it to workcfor the g2x as well. Out of the box the phone works with both the headphones(excellent quality and sound isolation) and the microphone. The center button works for starting stopping the music as well. The only difficulty I am having is that the back forth buttons do not work. One solution is to use an app that adds extra functionality to the center button. I now have my phone working with double tap of center button, single tap, triple tap and long tap. As long as you can remember that it's an excellent choice. I switched back to weapon rom to get better stability(I love muiu but it's still not 100 percent stable and audiolqyback was jittery) and I have awesome sound, cstavility and a headset that whe. You tap and hold will voice search. Well worth the investment.

I'm a big fan of my T-Mobile earbuds with the flat, "tangle free" cord. Sounds great, works perfectly, and tangle free. After regularly buying cheap ones from deals that would get shorts within a couple monthes (like the MEElectronics M6P several times) I finally ran down to my local t-mobile store and grabbed a pair of these. Last pair went thru the laundry and died, went straight back and got em again.

ultimate ears 350vm
Just bought the Android version of the Ultimate Ears 350vm - see amazon - http://www.amazon.com/Ultimate-985-...IDY2/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1336591571&sr=8-1
or logitech directly: http://www.logitech.com/en-us/ue/ue-earphones/devices/ue-350-vm
I have not finished burning them in yet, but they are pretty great - - better than the other head phones I had been using:
Sennheiser mx400 (http://www.sennheiserusa.com/media/productDownloads/productSheets/MX400_ProductSheet.pdf)
Sony MDR-E821/E828 ( http://store.sony.com/webapp/wcs/s...10151&langId=-1&productId=8198552921665379447)
JVC H-AFX35 (http://support.jvc.com/consumer/product.jsp?modelId=MODL028680)
Sure, it's the only one which has mic and mic controls, and it is way more expensive ($50) than the others.. but it is a nice set of in ear buds.
They are rather small so very light, and come with 5 sizes of silicone canal adapters. It takes a bit of playing, but once I got the right fit - they work GREAT. Good sound isolation, much to the chargin of wife and child ( I work from home, so they have to tap my should to
350vm initial impressions, on my G2X running Stock 2.3.4 (21y firmware):
The volume control is built inline, so it works well.. I leave it at max for the most part.
Using Google Play Music, single tap on the button pauses just fine, double tap skips to next track.
I have trouble with double tap - the advance is not immediate - so I have to be patient...
Otherwise, a great set of head phones.
I'm looking forward to using them the next time I travel - that is what I really got them for -- listening to music in the airplane.. the sound isolation is great ..
Bass response is good -- not too much, sounds good to me.. like a proper pair of over the ear (aka supra-aural) -- but in the smaller, more convient factor of ear buds.. (IEM/canalphones)
blablahblah..
If I have to replace these 350vm, I'll try the MEelectronics m6p or the a151 (http://www.meelec.com/category_s/329.htm) -- depends on wether or not i feel the mic is necessary..
The Kiplisch s4a are supposed to be good.. but .. it's just too much money for my taste.. at least at the moment.
I personal like the skull candy 50/50 quality construction and durable for a pretty affordable price i think they run like 39.99 most places in the us... All you are really paying for with Bose is the name it's not a professional quality product, i use the 50/50 for my home studio mixing as well as for my phone.

I'm getting tired of going through headsets like crazy. I was buying some cheap ones on ebay for $7 that would last me about a month, so I decided to spend the extra $ and get some M6p's. I'm on my 3rd replacement set.. They have lasted me around 30 days. I just received my most recent replacements yesterday. Upon my first use this morning, the skip/play/pause button stuck in.. If I just wiggle the wire, it skips/pauses/plays. Now I'm going for a 4th set, and I'm sick of this...
Can anyone recommend an over the ear w/ inline mic with play/pause/skip?

I can't recommend an over-the-ear pair over earbuds, but I can recommend the LG HBS-700 Bluetooth Headset...
I've had it since the beginning of December 2011, and it still works great. Sound quality is surprisingly good, and all the controls work... It has separate volume control, so these things get LOUD. and the neck piece vibrates whenever you get a call, and it is very much sweat resistant. I do some crazy workouts with these earbuds, and they are still working fine. The battery lasts a long time too, I charge it like once every two weeks.
Don't buy his headphones ^^ , they are LG haha I'm jk but u should try the zagg smartbudds for working out. They are amazing and durable. Had them for 4 months now and if u look online for discount codes. U can get em for 25$ instead of 50

Hmm, the ones I'm using are termed over the ear (memory wire). They seem to be pretty comfortable and have never fallen out.
Thanks for the other suggestions guys.. Meelec is sending the 4th pair now and gave me a $25 gift certificate to their store. Great service, just crappy buds.

I have a pair of Altec Lansing back beat pros, and I use them at the gym, they always used to fallout until I bought some comply foam ear tips. If you already have a pair of decent ear buds check out complyfoam.com, they create such a good seal that they never fallout anymore.
