The G2x random reboot issue is definitely a software issue. Both Froyo and Gingerbread was never made to run on a dual core phone. The hardware on this phone is ahead of its software. Ice Cream Sandwich (the next major Android software that is specifically geared towards dual core processors) should fix this issue. The only hardware defect that most G2x owners are facing is screen bleed. Fortunately for me I don't have this issue.

nah man i would keep it im assuming u are on the stock rom , when i was stock i had a few reboots and sod, i put cwm on there and flashed cm and my phone has been a beast ever since no reboots , super quick and reliable, if i were u id flash the latest nightly, oh and after all this it leads me to believe software for sure
Thank you so much bra that's all I needed to hear.

It's worth a shot. You get a week to return your original phone. So I'd just test out the replacement for a bit.

Just asking... please don't flame
Loved Gtg's work but noticed he has taken down all his ROMs because of some Network Issues in his latest ROM. He said a couple of days but it's been 6 days now I guess.
As such there is hardly anyone working on Infuse... and that is so sad . Now even if Gtg stops working on it, I might as well get rid of this phone!!
So anyone knows if Gtg is coming back? Or is the Infuse is dead even before it properly took off here
He hasn't left, to my knowledge. He's working on a couple of things right now. He'll be back in full force in the near future.
Development for the Infuse is by no means dead. LunuxBozo is currently working on bringing CM7 to the Infuse and has made what I consider tremendous progress.
What I thought was, I'd become one of those deaf-mutes; or should I?
I would love to flame but since you asked nicely.. What do you mean he has removed his ROMs? Infused is still up and hasn't really had any major problems...
I meant the GB ROMs. Froyo were great and I have no problems with his GB latest ROMs as well, but I am no one to comment on Network data rate issues that others are having as I never get that high data rates in my area anyway
Not blaming Gtg at all.. he is awesome, but just curious to know if Infuse support will ever reach something like that for GalaxyS. Just love this phone ...
With the GB update looming, it may be fair to say that infused, as it sits, may be dead. Why continue development on the Rogers base when he can scratch it and wait for easy street with ATT update?

Yea. He's probably waiting for the gb update so he can get all the bugs fixed. I went back to stock as well and see if this update is true

I'm good with the Rodgers gb but I'd like to at least have infused (froyo) back if possible. I had to restore and lost everything. Hate being stock.

Froyo Infused was never pulled, it's still there.
As to gtg - I'm assuming he'll be back. He's probably burned out (I don't blame him) and needs a break. I would too. Since Rogers dropped GB we've been spending a liiiitle too much time at our keyboards...
Just hold on. Things will come eventually
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I997R using XDA Premium App
i feel few people own infuse that's why we have so few custom roms whereas htc models and samsung galaxy are owned by way too many people and due to their popularity more devs came up with their edition.
as far as gtg is concerned froyo links are there and one link of infused is still there if one goes through infused rom.
i am just waiting for att gb update and then hope that we will have more custom roms and new version by our gtg

so according to his twitter feed the samsung servers are giving information about ICS, he isnt answering questions though or getting into details, kind of disappointing
Well the Nexus is out now, so it shouldn't be too long. Sometime before Xmas I would imagine.

back when i had an x10 there was a website that would show firmwares being uploaded by sony ericsson for ota updates. They were usually available within a few days, so im hoping its the same case here.
Let us wait for OTA... Now I am enjoying with Kwiboo's ICS V3...
I am thinking 1st to 2nd week of December. I think Google and Samsung wants to release the Galaxy Nexus first in the US before they update the Nexus S.

It's for sure they'll hold back any OTA update until the U.S. release of the Galaxy Nexus. But I want it as soon as possible! I don't understand why some people flash ICS roms with no wifi for example, when the official update is so close.
Sent from my Nexus S using xda premium
Why is it for sure? Unless you have inside info that nobody else does. Besides the US release of the Nexus won't impact sales any because the nexus s isn't on Verizon anyways.
Sent from my Nexus S using xda premium
before we know that, we'll probably have to know when GNex is gonna be release in USA
Flodb just so you know I am running koushs rom and everything including wifi is working just fine! It also has wallet included and working. I was in all your boats waiting and wondering but I said what the hell and rooted my ns and got me some ics and love the change and hope u guys do too!

Ok, even if everything is working just fine, it doesn't really mean it doesn't have some problems. That's why an official update is better than an "alpha"/"beta" rom.
Besides, this is the reason why you buy a Nexus S in the first place, for updates. After the OTA, it's custom rom all the way
EDIT: @Jeff Dunn: almost forgot, it makes sense to release the update AFTER the phone that is supposed to be the new android flagship. And it doesn't matter that the Nexus S isn't available on verizon. You know, there are other countries outside the US... but nevermind.
Sent from my Nexus S using xda premium
But it has been released outside the US already. Which kinda invalidates your point. Regardless though we will see it when we see it. Hopefully sooner rather than later.

I heard it's supposed to start rolling out tomorrow. I'm not sure how many people will actually go back to stock to receive this update. I am going to wait until an official ROM is released. Danalo has a Humble test rom based on the OTA posted on his twitter.
Yeah most people probably won't. I did just to see what the updates will be like but I'll most likely go back to a custom rom after.
Sent from my SCH-I510 using XDA App
I do know that Verizon does roll out earlier than the date specified. But, you have to know that the amount of people of this thread only makes up a small amount of the total of Charge users.
I might revert and download the OTA just to see what its like then root and debloat to test for bugs/stability

I'm sure my wife will text me on what to do if she gets the notification. I'll post if she does.
A coworker in my office runs a stock Charge and he hasn't seen the update yet. He tried checking for an update but it said his phone was already up to date.
Its supposedly starting at noon and since Verizon is based in NJ it will most likely be eastern time. So people should start getting it in a half hour.

Thanks, I'm used to Sprint updates which start at midnight.
I'm installing the stock odin now. As soon as I get a update I will post it. I'm on the East Coast so maybe I will be one of the first. I do admit I am not lokingforward to looking at poo colors.
Still no updates. People on the Verizon forums are going crazy because no one has received it yet.

I never really expected this to happen after observing all the work from the devs on it. ICS has always ran kinda wishy washy for me. I mean it works and all, but there are definitely some performance issues and bugs no matter which rom you use. Verizon nor HTC intends to release a shoddy product. It either has to work 100% or not at all. If ICS cant run as well as GB did, then it aint gonna happen.
I wish I had a dollar for all the false rumors that have been posted about ICS, I'd buy Verizon and have enough left over to keep me in booze and hookers for the rest of my life!
I think this is one more dollar in my stash....

If that were the case though, the thunderbolt would've ran well from launch day, which anyone who had one since then will say that it didn't. Originally the battery life was horrendous and had to be fixed by an OTA.

NO ICS
just called HTC ,,, and they told me , that we are not getting ics,,, htc thunderbolt is discontinued,,,, :crying:
We could call and email different reps at HTC and we would get a slew of different responses from them all. Stuff like this no one will know the correct answer as tech support as we all know is the last to know.

So let's see if I understand this... the OFFICIAL WORD from Verizon AND from HTC is that the Thunderbolt will or will not get ICS and will get it within the next two days or later than that or never.
Does that about cover it? <G>
Honestly, I don't see what all the flap is about? ICS doesn't offer anything I need or want other than (I HOPE!) a better kernel for the Devs to work with.
Meanwhile, NuSense works for me and the BAMF leak works for me if I want ICS and, if I want Gingerbread, Infected ROM works for me and Thunderstick BB works for me along with a bunch of other ROMs I've tried.
Was at Verizon today, Reps informed me there will be no ICS for our phones...Cant say I'm surprised...my upgrade is in January, not going to worry about it .. Can't believe they state we would get the upgrade, then renege ..
If Apple can upgrade their older model Iphones for several years , why can' t our Android phones do the same.. and no I'm not switching..
