Wait 6 months from when you bought the phone, call att and ask to talk to supervisors a few times, say you're going out of the country and hey should give you one assuming you've been with them for a while and are in good standard payment wise

Enjoy.
Crap, just got done transferring about 20GB of data to my card... backup... grumble grumble.
Oh well, to have root explorer working and be able to delete the bloatware, it's totally worth it.
Yessssssssss
Cant wait to get started when I get home later today.
Bah, too early I guess. I don't want to flash an old firmware.

Went flawless. rooted and bloatware on its way out the door.
So this is the only method so far, just don't want to downgrade my software.
I agree, I will just wait, I am not downgrading.

True I agree, ill just wait till they perfect it and have recovery working good.

I'll wait as well, plus it'll give me time to mess with free trials and to see how much I can download over LTE before having to wipe it all!

Really can't wait until you can root with the current firmware!

And this surprises you why? Not to worry, if they could make a bootstrap recovery for the Droid X, they can make one for this phone.
It just surprises me that HTC did it
Sent from my ADR6400L using XDA Premium App
with every other manufacturer doing this, it was only a matter of time
It's a signed Bootloader... HTC doesn't lock their stuff down like Motorola does...Be patient guys. You'll get the goodies

How much have you searched xda for this particular thing? For ME or MB865? There's several how-to's online for this.

thanks

No, those type of things are not allowed on XDA.
The ONLY way to unlock this phone is to call AT&T, or to buy an unlock code, period!
AT&T now has the policy unlocking it for free. But I think the procedure is little bit of complex. Just take a try.

Get the code from here http://cellunlocker.net
Once you pay for that code pop in your tmo sim and turn the phone on. Enter the unlock code and you're good to go. Then flash a tmo radio from the t989 section. And I think you need to enter a T-Mobile apn. Not sure.

Rooting won't do anything. You have to pay. Use the link I posted on the last page.

there is a cheaper option which is unlocking by cable as also mentioned before.
Here is software to do it:
http://www.unlocksamsungonline.com/unlocksamsung/I727
Kachman did it for 1/3 cost....
Thanks!!! Kachman!!!! :good:
I started rooting it but when I tried to take backup using ClockWorkMod Recoverry, I'm getting an error:
Can't mount /sdcard
I don't have a SD card. Can't I root if I don't have one?
Can I simply get out of it and it won't cause any damange to the phone?
Good thing i have att but I've never in my life had an android phone where I had to pay to unlock it that sucks

Hi!
I need to use my sgs2 i727 outside us and called AT&T for unlock code and they provided me but it didn't work. I call them back, told them again the EMEi and they provided the same code..which as I told doesn't work.
Can somebody, please, give me a solution.
Thanks

op's question to vague
are you on stock
exactly whats steps did you take in entering the code
answer could be in the 1stop sticky in the guide/info section
AT&A are bunch of asses when it comes to unlock codes , they will come up with million excuses not to unlock your device...
Search for 3rd party companies online who can sell you the unlock code for your IMEI,it can cost you 10-30$ but well worth it of you really need your device outside of at&t.
Is your device rooted? If so u will need to return to stock firmware for it to work hope u get it going

Thanks for all the answers!
I resolved the problem with buying a new code from ebay and there they gave me instructions how to type it.
Thanks
