Enjoy.
Crap, just got done transferring about 20GB of data to my card... backup... grumble grumble.
Oh well, to have root explorer working and be able to delete the bloatware, it's totally worth it.
Yessssssssss
Cant wait to get started when I get home later today.
Bah, too early I guess. I don't want to flash an old firmware.

Went flawless. rooted and bloatware on its way out the door.
So this is the only method so far, just don't want to downgrade my software.
I agree, I will just wait, I am not downgrading.

True I agree, ill just wait till they perfect it and have recovery working good.

I'll wait as well, plus it'll give me time to mess with free trials and to see how much I can download over LTE before having to wipe it all!

And this surprises you why? Not to worry, if they could make a bootstrap recovery for the Droid X, they can make one for this phone.
It just surprises me that HTC did it
Sent from my ADR6400L using XDA Premium App
with every other manufacturer doing this, it was only a matter of time
It's a signed Bootloader... HTC doesn't lock their stuff down like Motorola does...Be patient guys. You'll get the goodies

Hello All;
OK, I rooted my infuse, 2.2.1, i997uckd5, in updates i have one waiting, if i do it, it will loose something? like sim unlock or future custom rom ?
Sorry to ask this but I been reading a lot and my brain was damaged, old iphone user lol
i used the search...
thanks!
I wouldn't bother with the update and just flash one of the custom roms, they are based on newest update and there is even a gingerbread rom now...
Good luck.
Sent from my Samsung Infuse 4G
I don't know about sim unlock but it will update you to ucke3. I was never on that for long as I rooted and flashed Infused rom shortly after updating and haven't looked back since. Hope this helps.
As far as sim unlocking is concerned that's more or less a permanent change. Rooting, wiping, flashing, unbricking, etc. Won't undo it.

Thank You, I will try the gingerbread before doing any upgrade from Att

The unbrick is UCKD3? Don't quote me on that, but I know it's a D just not sure of the number. And sometimes the software update doesn't work the first few times you try so that's most likely all that happened, haha.

I say do not make a new software thread until you got actual proof that it is a new update.
Ask Broncogr to delete it. I'm sure he'd have no problem with this one since it's irrelevant to anyone's interest after the title.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I997 using xda premium
I'm sorry guys be gentle. I have reverted back to stock probably 15-20 times at least and almost always do a software update check and this is the first time ever it actually said there was one and started downloading. Went through the whole procedure and then it was still froyo. I have no problem whatsoever with a mod taking this thread down.
And once again I apologize. My only intentions were to get the news out as quick ad I could.

Worked for me, now I just wish I knew how this is a benefit over what we already had... I mean we had root, recovery, custom roms and kernels already.... So what does this actually do?

I unlocked using another method by using a windows computer. Saw this and said **** it ill try this too. It still worked. When I opened the app it said bootloader status unknown now it says unlocked.

It's been said, but I still can't believe how much of a headache the bootloader has been and how easy the fix is... At least with this app. So awesome.

Forgive the noobness, but does flashing a kernel after you do this affect anything? I flashed imo's leankernel and I opened this app and it says status is unknown.
Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk 2
How do I relock the bootloader? Did I need to have had backed up my original bootloader? Is it specific per device?
Like in the title, I know the phones are extremely similar so can I flash a vibrant ROM onto the gs4g and vice versa?
Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk 4 Beta
You will get a higher risk to bricking it.
100% brick.
Can you? Yes.
Will it work after? No.
If you've applied the unbrickable mod to reverse booting order, can it be recovered after? Maybe.
Would I risk it for a guaranteed non-booting ROM? Nope.
All in favor say.........Hell no!
test it out and report back to us
