cwm question... - HTC One S

im using latest cwm from rom manager.. i noticed when i shutdown the phone the phone will reboot into cwm. I can get around this with turning fastboot on under power settings. Is there away around this?
Thanks!!

It's an ever present "bug" in clockwork source going back to the Dream but I always saw it as a feature.. koush has fixed that several times but it just comes back which is a good thing for me however I converted to twrp and sadly the bug doesn't want to go there.

Thanks !!, ya isnt that big of a deal. Reason why i wanted a workaround was i thought by turning on fastboot under power n settings would stop the resetting of the uptime on battery stats when chraged to a 100 (cause the phone is in sleep) and i wanted to see how good this battery would be for me under my everyday use, but it turns out it does reset even tho its on so good

First this is the wrong section for this. Second just restore the phone back to stock.
Before you do this turn off your device, press volume up and power at the same time !! That should take you to Bootloader Menu !!
I recommend you to stay stock, if you have no experience rooting, flashing or unrooting don't try again BEFORE educating yourself more.
Try going into clockwork mod mount USB in advanced menu download a new rom put it on your SD card and flash it. Just so u know this belongs in q/a not development.

Install the drivers on your computer. U cand find them here somewhere and hold volume up + power and try to use fast boot to flash cwm

Can you access recovery by holding volume + and power? If so, just wipe everything and reflash the rom on your sd.

Stuck on "htc one" screen

Hey guys, im a noob and i recently flashed ViperXL on my att HOX. everything was going fine except after i restored data from Titanium backup that i had backed up from previous ROM (AOKP build 4). Titanium said i had to reboot so i did. And now i am stuck on "htc ONE" screen. Is my phone done? please help!
Plug your phone in, use ADB to reboot into recovery, wipe everything and reinstall ViperXL.
Don't restore apps from another ROM like AOKP

Also reminds us all the importance of backing up our data via a Custom Recovery before flashing ROMs
ive stumpled on upon a quite annoying problem..i have an HTC ONE X+ which i unlocked my bootloader on and everything went smooth until i wanted to start recovery via hboot.
it did not start and i tried several times and restarted etcetc, i then tried to flash in another recovery and then tried more and more but nothing..
then i cant remember now exaclty how i did it, but i have several RUU, kernel, recovery, boot and roms n such items downloaded
so i tried to feed in another flash or rom or whatever its called to get the recovery funtion to work (i am not very pro at this) and then when i wanted to start my phone normally it all of a sudden wont boot properly.
it freezes on the bootscreen.. i can turn off and go in to bootloader but i cant do ANYTHING from there, i cant do a factory reset (wich i also tried when the recovery did not want to work) i cant do **** there. tried to lock and unlock bootloader.. feels like im out of options..
the only thing i can do now is command the phone via cmd and the toolkit i use from here "Hasoon2000s htc one x AIO kit"
using this guide on this thread mostly..
ive tried so many things now, searched this and other forums since friday and i still can not get anywhere... starting to think this is what the definition of a bricked unit is??
if you need any more info please just ask.. i bought the phone a week ago so kinda sucks if it would be useless for me right away haha..
i would appreciate som help and tips... please
Sincerely Jeff

The people who actually have that phone can help you out, I don't know how to solve it as well as they do. Good luck!

Battery died, boots into recovery?????

My phone died and i didnt realize it was low and now im not sure why it wont charge. Anytime i put it on the charge it reboots into recovery and keeps doing that. I tried holding down the vol down several times to get into bootloader but it wouldnt go nor will it boot back on
Recovery
I was having a similar issue with the phone booting into recovery while charging. I flashed the latest TWRP recovery and it solved that issue. However, I have not encountered the issue with the device not being able to power up. I hate to recommend a full wipe if you don't have a back-up, but you can try the recovery first.
Hard power-off offers a workaround

I am experiencing this as well. Battery runs out of charge and when I plug it into the power outlet, the phone boots into recovery. Selecting "reboot" in recovery doesn't work and the phone boot loops back into recovery. Some have suggested that using the "clear storage" option in recovery seems to stop the boot loops but I don't really want to clear my data every time the battery runs out. What works for me is to let the phone stay plugged in for about fifteen minutes (so it gets a little charged). I then press and hold the power button for about ten seconds. This causes the phone to power off completely. I then press and hold the power button to power up the phone (cold start). The phone boots up correctly although I get a message something like "the device encountered an error on startup, would you like to report the issue to HTC?" I choose NO.
This is very annoying and I can't seem to find out if it is in the recovery or if it is in fact a problem in the stock ROM.

Its the crap recovery you using. Flash TWRP and you should never have that issue again.
I had that issue too. I had to leave the phone in recovery, charging, for a few minutes, then boot it without the charger.
It's a known issue with cwm though I thought it was fixed a while ago. Had that issue on my g2 but was fixed. I wish 4ext recovery was an option for this device

Anyone who is reading and is panicking, for future reference just hold down the power button to do a hard shutdown. Do this about 4-6 times until it successfully boots up. As a rule of thumb, I never install anything cwm anymore.

[Q] Sensation wont boot or charge

Hello
I have an s-off htc sensation with cm10 and recovery etc its been running great for ages with this setup.
The phone completely ran out of battery and shut down. I left it on charge overnight and in the morning it would not switch on.
I have read a LOT of threads on here and elsewhere about this issue and have tried the fixes you guys have suggested for similer issues (usb charging, new battery, battery pulls)
I dont think that the usb debugging mode was enabled on my phone so i cant use the commands to restart it etc
When charging, the orange light blinks for about 5 seconds, then is on constantly until the phone boots all on its own to the htc logo screen, then goes black with no orange light. (it did this with the old dead battery and the new one)
any help would be greatly appreciated
thanks
Such a great problem you have :crying: well, you can try re-flashing the ROM again. If it is not working maybe it is the ROM weakness. AOKP (your ROM series) is more unstable than AOSP ROM (like Android Revolution HD, ViperS, JB MIUI, and other).
The most possible reason for your problem is your ROM, so if re-flashing the rom does not help you, you can try flash a AOSP ROM. May the force be with you
When my advice helps you, try the THANKS button

Very strange that a new battery didn't fix this... same thing happened to me but mine died while charging some how and I didn't even have a charging light! However, in my case a brand new battery fixed my issue instantly. You can try a new rom if you can somehow flash it and see if it helps.. one question, was the other battery you tired new? Just curious? Hope you can get this issue resolved. If the battery you tired wasn't new in last effort if nothing else works, try a new battery. Like I said, it worked for me.. I wish I could be of more help. Best of luck and keep us informed. I've read of this happening when battery is ran out before and I wish I knew what causes this.. very strange. Good luck

Yup the battery was brand new off amazon....
Any ideas of how I can flash a rom without being able to boot into recovery?
Some one else might know this answer but have you tried, pulling battery, putting battery back in, immediately press power and volume down and hold it... recovery should pop up after that. Then go to wipe and wipe data factory reset, then install rom, or you can go to backup restore and restore your nandroid back up. Try to get into recovery this way. Hope it helps let me know. Best wishes. If you did try, couldn't hurt to try again keep hold of volume down and power and see if recovery will boot. If not you might be able to do it though computer but I can't help with that. Maybe someone else can help with fast boot commands on the computer. But it would hurt to try to pull battery again. And give it a go. Good luck

i assume it stays on at least after booting
if yes then connect it to pc
go to the folder where you have adb and fastboot files and open a command window there
then do
adb

adb reboot bootloader
see if it works

No the phone screen just goes black after the HTC screen and sometimes randomly flashes grey!? So the computer cannot detect it when connected by usb .
Really need to get to recovery it seems
This happened to me the other day, I have a charger that came with the battery off amazon and I gave it a full charge on that. After I put it in fully charged my phone was fine. I was nearly fully through flashing when this happened. I got back to bootloader and flashed 4ext recover and flashed my rom.

Ok guys i have flashed near every rom this phone has ever had and never ran into a bootloop problem. So i had CH 10.2 on my phone for 2 days with no hiccups. Then today after letting my phone die completely "battery death" i pluged it in and now it keeps bootlooping and i cant get it into recovery if i hold down volume down + power it loops at the galaxy s 4g starting screen. If i let it go of the power button at the correct time it just bootloops. anyone have any ideas?

Anyone have any idea what could have caused this just so i know what to or what not to do in the future ?
Try using adb

To get to CWM recovery on this ROM, simply download 'Quick Boot' application and use it to get to recovery. It works.
Apex launcher crashes as well. I think issue is ROM related. Also, ROM is very heavy, I couldn't find why.
Edit: ROM is snappier after using CM performance features and letting cache do its work.

I got through the splash screen on 1st try.
You should check if you worked according to ROM instructions.
I usually always format system as well as wipe everything twice before flashing any new ROM.
I was referring to :
1. the lack of recovery button on power menu.
2. The inability to use hardware keys to get to recovery after flashing this ROM.
Heimdall One-click (in download mode) and try again.
You're right - I missed that option in developer features - it's called 'advanced reboot options'.
I'd suggest you get to download mode - one click heimdall and reflash this ROM after dowble wiping dalvik, cache, and format system.
I've flashed numerous ROMS to my phone before but have never ran into a problem like this.
-I went back to stock
-flashed CM7, as recommended from the OP
-downloaded and flashed CM10.2 but it gets stuck around 75%
I've been on this thread, and the rom thread as well as waiting a bit, hoping to find a solution or it figures itself out. Nothing! Is it unsafe to pull my battery when its at 'Installing update' (75%) for an extended period of time?
Also, i am on CWM 5.0.2.8
Thanks
I flashed it from ICS (Ultragen) and had no problem.
You can try that as well.
