I'll be honest, I'm not sure if it's the kernel or cm7, but the bottom line is that adding superclock 4×2 results in super laggy adw ex. I wish I would have added it prior to flashing the kernel, but who would've imagined that a widget would cause a collapse like this. Additionally, the unlock animations do not work. Fyi.
Feel free to chime in.

That said I run sz 2.1 on cm 7 with adw ex and have zero issues with bw.

Here is the discussion on that kernel where you can post your Question. They also have official forums which you ask Questions if you think the kernel is the issue.

Here is the CM7 discussion. Post here too, maybe it's CM7 related like you think it might be.

The point that people are making is that this is Android Development. Not Q&A. The Evo forums also have dedicated Q&A sections.
As to your problem, flash a different kernel? Or wipe /system and /boot and reflash CM7 + GApps to get CM7 stock kernel back and a clean CM7 install while preserving /data (as in, don't wipe data).
Edit: To the guy thinking this is Eclair kernel... the kernel version is 0.2.1. For some reason people like to call it 2.1. It's a 2.6.37 based Gingerbread kernel.

I can appreciate that, and I suppose I should've posted in the nosbc SZ thread. Sorry about that.
I just installed the [Kernel]CM7 [2.6.32.45] on my phone with CM7 already installed. when I turned on the device after the LG logo my screen turns black?!! What coulfd be the issue...I apologize if i come off as a idiot....
You installed what kernel???
From who?
From where?
Cm7 rom has a stock kernel, so you must have flashed a custom kernel, did you check to see if it was compatible with cm7??
Yes its this kernel [Kernel]CM7 [2.6.32.45]. I downloaded from XDA and it says its compatible with CM7. When i rebooted the G2x from CWM the LG logo showed up and then went to a black screen
Just enable USB connection and put a different kernel on ur phone and flash it. Ur phone obviously can't handle the kernel

Sounds they are referring to Faux's Kernel...
You have to match them up properly as CM7 just went through a few kernel changes and the Custom Kernel developers have to make them compatible. I think Faux has .44 out which is supposed to work...
Then you also have 4 options from Faux: Pre-OC/UV or Stock Speeds; and CM and DS battery drivers.

Thanks yall u helped out alot.............I just installed the WEAPON ROM with the FAUX Kernel & im using Pimp my CPU for OC & UC........Besides Faux what kernels would be good to use on all G2x phones?
I am starting up my own route of android development working with team acid and AntonX to make sure all the best features work in AOSP roms like MIUI, and in the future AOSP and BML CM7 if we make them . This is a BML kernel so don't flash it if you are running the MTD CM7. It is CWM flashable or you can extract the zImage and flash with heimdall.
This is a branch of AntonX's kernel so UV/OC, voodoo sound, and BLN are all there.
Do not flash this on a stock rom, this includes Valhalla black, AOSP style (no it's not AOSP), or anything that isn't MIUI, Cyanogenmod (BML), or AOSP (if we ever get it ).
Changes to come:
Currently working with initramfs to remove voodoo lagfix, speed up boot time, and add touch recovery.
Credits:
AntonX, this is a branch of his kernel
Team Acid, for putting up with me and their kernel work
Bhundven, for being the best dev ever, his original kernel, new initramfs and all his work fixing CM7, and his always helping me out when I'm in a pinch

hampsterblade,
You did the wrong thing on github, you have lost all history for the project. If for any reason my project is gone, nobody will know what have been modified. You should have forked. It's not too late, you haven't made too many changes. I did exactly the same mistake originally, but FBis helped me to recover.
And why have you uploaded the whole toolchain??? You are not going to make changes to it, are you?

Patch the kernel and compile from source.
No, I'm not joking.
I believe the kernel devs are working on getting something a lot better than a governor on a 2.6 kernel, but I'll leave that to them to reveal at the proper time.

Hopefully the kernel devs are not givin up
Since this is a GB kernel, it should be simple, assuming you know how to recompile a kernel from source, just to grab the OC etc routines out of one of AntonX's or bhundven's kernels and then just stick them in and recompile. Since everyone is using the same kernel so far this would only need to be done once. This erzatz ICS is slow and sure could use OC, more governors etc.
I added smartassv2 last night, but want to get a "clean" build off the AOKP tree and have a few days running it before I release it to the wilds.
Standard statement: "OMG, I'm seeing incredible battery life, smooth as butter, WiFi signal strength is better, TVout works,..."

Download his rom unzip it grab the boot.img and flash it with heimdall. Then grab the wifi module(bcm4329 I think is the name lol) and push it to the same place u got it from (/system/lib/modules/)

If helped don't be afraid to hit the thanks button it doesn't bite lol
DISCLAIMER: I'm not responsible neither is thomasraines or xda if you brick your device you are doing this on your own free will. The only thing you can say is how awesome thomas is for creating this and how awesome I am for uploading and writing directions. Any blame will result in me pointing and laughing uncontrollably.
Files removed thomsasraines posted the kernel in the dev section it can be found there. Please visit his thread and follow what he posted so you can get the full effect ok? If not tough I aint re upping the files .
Click the statement above for direct route to the kernel thread.
Unzip the bcm4329.ko, xda wouldnt let me upload a .ko file .
Put the bcm4329.ko file on your sdcard. Then using something like root explorer copy it to /system/lib/modules folder.
I suggest renaming the old one to bcm4329.ko.bak just in case.
Using heimdall you can flash the kernel using the following command.
Code:
heimdall flash --kernel boot.img
This is from terminal in ubuntu or cmd in windows. Make sure you are running the commands from the folder you put the boot.img in.
Once the phone reboots pull the battery and put it back in. Boot into recovery and run fix permissions. Then reboot.
so what will this do again? Is this for a kernel different than the kj6 one?
If you are unsure of what it is for then dont attempt the steps.
Do some more reading.
Edit nm

Dude, can you make it CWM flashable??
SimplyCM10.1-v1 Kernel
These kernels are basically the stock versions of the CyanogenMod 10 and 10.1 Linux kernels, with the addition of Voodoo Sound and optional Voodoo Color. I've also added a few minor patches to get it to compile with the Linaro 12.09 GCC 4.7.2 13.06 GCC 4.7.4 compiler, which is supposed to make it faster. It uses my new AnyKernelEpic method of flashing, so it doesn't affect the ram disk your rom uses to boot, meaning this can be flashed to a wider varity of roms. For example, the CM kernel doesn't always change when a new nightly comes out, so this will still be flashable to new nightlys without me having to rebuilt it and you having to redownload it. This is also could work on CM9 / MIUI / AOKP / etc, but this is a 3.x kernel and I haven't tested it on any of those, so try at your own risk.
Look's like this isn't likely to boot on any roms other than Cyanogenmod 10 due to a recent change in the display driver there. See this post.

I don't think its possible right now for one kernel to work with either modem, so I would have to maintain two branches for that. Since I only use the stock modem, I wouldn't be able to test it so that probably wouldn't end well.
